2. Measure carried out to alleviate problems of jams and to improve performance.

1.Model Name: AR-FN1

2.General: The action described below has been carried out as measures to alleviate problems of

jams and to improve performance.

3.Description: (1) The gate position sheet has been discontinued, and a change has been carried out

in the shape of the ST upper paper guide sheet (the slits in the roller section have
been discontinued). This action has been carried out as a measure to alleviate
problems of jams caused by the leading edge of the copy paper slipping into, and
becoming caught in the reversion gate of the paper feed decurler. This action
has also been carried out as a measure to improve the upper paper guide sheet
reversion performance.

The slits encompassed by the dotted
lines have been discontinued.

(2) 5 mm have been cut away from the upper portion of the over run stopper section of

the reinforce frame plate of tray no. 3 (only for machines bound for the AB series
market destinations). This action has been carried out as a measure to alleviate
problems of F1-15 trouble (insufficient margin for actuator 3 detection).

3. Measure carried out to improve the suction performance of the door in the front
cabinet.

1.Model Name: AR-FN1

2.General: There were cases of the door of the front cabinet opening during operations in a portion

of the machines bound for the overseas market destinations. As a measure to alleviate
this problem, a change has been carried out in the door of the front cabinet. The catch
of the door has been changed to an MG catch which has a high suction performance.

3.Action: From the 1st lot of 1998 October production.
