1. Discontinuance of the shield seal in the optical unit carried out as a measure to
improve productivity.

1.Model Name: AR-5132

2.General: The shield seal in the optical unit has been discontinued. Also the φ 16 holes in two

locations of the optical vibration protect sheet (PSHEG3833FCZZ) have been
discontinued. This action has been carried out as a measure to improve productivity.
The old optical vibration protect sheet is interchangeable with the new optical vibration
protect sheet, and therefore there has been no change carried out in the part code.

3.Action: From the start of 1998 July production.

2. Change carried out in the effective time reported in T/R ARE-088.

1.Model Name: AR-5132 (only in machines bound for the 200 V series market destinations).

2.General: The action to prevent contact with the copy lamp unit was reported in T/R ARE-088 as

being effective as of the start of 1998 May production. A change in the effective time
has been carried out, however, and the action reported in T/R ARE-088 is effective as
of the start of 1998 July production.
