Tip section
Style 390
Supplied Parts
1 Base section antenna assembly 1 Tip section antenna asssembly 1 3/8” Lockwasher
with conductors running full length. The antenna’s design supports
power up to 1 KW. Its chrome-plated brass ferrule has 1”-14
threads. Use a Shakespeare Style 409-R or 410-R Mounting Kit
(sold separately).
Tools required:
knife, wire cutters, resin core solder, Crescent wrench or
1/2” open-end wrench.
Soldering iron (40-watt Min.), pocket
Installation Instructions
Choose a mounting location that is as high as practical, as free
as possible from obstructions, and as far as possible from other
antennas and other strong sources of RF.
1. Place the lockwasher over the threads of the Tip section’s ferrule
as shown. Thread the Tip section onto the Base section’s upper
ferrule, and securely tighten.
2. Use Style 409-R or Style 410-R Mounting Kit (sold separately)
to mount the antenna to a deck or bulkhead. Instructions for
installing the mounts are included with the mounting kits.
3. SSB antennas and transceivers require adequate grounding
systems. Follow the radio manufacturer’s instructions for
connecting this antenna to your SSB radio system.
