TheNE555monolithictimingcircuitisahighlystable controllercapableofproducingaccuratetimedelays or oscillation.In the time delay modeof operation, the time is precisely controlledby one externalre­sistorandcapacitor.Forastableoperationasanos­cillator,thefree runningfrequency andthe duty cy­cle are both accuratelycontrolledwithtwoexternal resistorsandone capacitor.The circuit maybe trig­gered and reseton fallingwaveforms, andthe out­put structurecan source or sinkup to 200mA. The NE555 is available in plastic and ceramic minidip packageandina8-leadmicropackageandinmetal can packageversion.
