The power cord should be regularly
examined for any signs of damage. In the event of such damage being found, the appliance must no longer be used.
Before use, place the cooking plate onto
the appliance, over the heating element.
The surfaces of the appliance, the
cooking plate and mini-pans become hot during use. Caution: there is a danger of scalding.
Do not allow the power cord to touch
any hot part of the appliance.
During operation, the appliance must be
placed on a heat-resistant surface, impervious to splashes and stains. When cooking food with a high fat or moisture content, splashes are not always avoidable.
Do not position the grill next to a wall or
corner, and ensure that no inflammable materials are stored near it. Ensure a sufficient safety clearance from such objects.

How to use your raclette grill
Before first use
-
Remove any packing materials completely.
-
Before using your raclette grill for the first time, clean the cooking plate and the mini-pans with a damp cloth.
-
We recommend that you heat up the appliance for about 10 minutes, without any food on the plate or in the pans, to eliminate the ‘new’ smell which may be emitted when it is first switched on. A small amount of smoke may also be noticeable, so ventilate the room during this procedure.
-
Before the food to be grilled is placed onto the cooking plate, the plate should be lightly greased with a small amount of oil specifically intended for frying, which may be safely heated to high temperatures.
Temperature control
-
The variable thermostat controls the operating time of the heating element, with the indicator light showing its current operating state. Indicator light on = heating element on Indicator light off = heating element off
-
After use, return the thermostat to its lowest setting (•) and unplug the appliance from the mains supply.
-
For melting cheese and for grilling, the maximum setting (6) should be used. Simply to keep food warm, the thermostat should be adjusted to a lower
setting.
Operation
-
Insert the plug into a suitable outlet and turn the thermostat control to its maximum setting (6). Let the appliance preheat for about 10 minutes to reach the temperature necessary for melting cheese and for grilling.
-
If required, place the food to be grilled onto the cooking plate.
-
Put the raclette cheese into the minipans, then put them into the appliance, underneath the heating element, and leave them until the cheese has melted. Note: Do not place empty mini-pans in the appliance while it is switched on.
-
To prevent damage to the non-stick coating of the cooking plate and minipans, do not use any sharp or pointed objects when handling the food.
-
Once grilling is finished, turn the thermostat control to its minimum setting (•) and disconnect the appliance from the mains supply socket.
How to prepare raclette cheese
Use about 200 to 300 grammes of cheese per person. Cut the cheese into slices of about 3 to 5 mm thickness and put them into the mini-pans. It is preferable to use original raclette cheese. Any other fast-melting cheese, however, is also suitable. Because of the heat above, the cheese will melt quite quickly.
Practical hints
-
Frozen food should always be properly thawed before it is cooked.
-
To avoid damage to the coating of grill plate and mini-pans, use only nonabrasive utensils.
-
When grilling larger amounts of food, the accumulated fat residues should be carefully removed from time to time.
