The black rounded release button
needs to be cut-off so that it will not
accidentally release when retracted
into the bore of the white Delrin guide.
This is best done using a new single
edge razor blade. The microphone can
still be released when necessary.
Special Instruction for Using
the ClearOne Microphone with
the BZ-3 Ceiling Bezel
Clear-One Instruction
The BZ-3 was originally designed for the Polycom HDX microphone. The Clear-One multi capsule
microphone employs a reverse gender female output connector and as a result requires a simple
modification to operate with the BZ-3 ceiling bezel. The round release button on the female
connector can be accidentally activated when the microphone retracts into the bore of the white
Delrin guide and must be cut-off. The Polycom HDX microphone employs a standard male output
connector and the mating connector with the release button is on the cable side and is not subject to
this problem. The female connector on the microphone body and is vulnerable to accidental contactrelease as described. Using the new single edge razor blade that has been provided, push the blade
tightly against the microphone body and slice the release button-off flush with the body.
