FlexNet® SmartPoint® C&I Gas
Transceiver Module
Quick Guide
The Sensus FlexNet SmartPoint C&I Gas transceiver
module for commercial applications provides wireless
communication capability to gas utility meters.
SPECIFICATIONS
The SmartPoint® 500GM, 600GM, and
800GM product with integrated FlexNet
module will have a visible label containing the
following information:
Contains Model: GFL3CI
Contains FCC ID: SDBGFL3CI
Contains IC: 2220A-GFL3CI
Technical Overview
The FlexNet communications network offers a simple, reliable, and
secure system that is economical for mass meter deployments, strategic
deployments, and rural applications while providing a multi-application
solution for all AMI end points.
The FlexNet SmartPoint C&I Gas transceiver module consists of a
transceiver board and antenna board mounted together.
The module communicates via the Sensus FlexNet fixed wireless
telemetry network to provide application specific information to utilities
and customers. The module transmits status information automatically
at a programmable periodic rate and can be triggered by specific events
from the utility or metering interface.
The transceiver transmits and receives data over licensed frequency
bands. The transceiver printed board contains a power supply,
microprocessor, transceiver, and power amplifier necessary to
communicate over the FlexNet system. The antenna board has an antenna
mounted on it and a read switch used to detect tampering.
The module is powered by a battery pack, capable of providing the energy
needed for operation over the lifetime of the product. It provides a burst of
energy as needed for peak transmission events.
