The paper shredder is supplied ready for operation. Observe voltage rating when inserting plug.
Shredder must be operated only in upright position. Set up paper shredder so that the lateral ventilation slots are unobstructed. To ensure sufficient ventilation of the shredder, a lateral distance of 1Q-cm
minimum to the wall or the furniture must be maintained. To insert bag for cut material, open front
door, pull out frame, fold bag around frame, push frame with guide and bag back into bottom frame
and close front door.
These models feature the latest in electronic controls for fully automatic operation. To shred, push
rocker switch to forward position, you will see a green "on" light. Simply place the documents into the
feed throat and the motor will automatically switch on. The shredder will continue to run as long as
paper is being fed into it. If shredding is interrupted for 4-5 seconds, the machine will automatically
turn itself off. To restart, simply insert more paper into the feed opening.
Important: Materials other than common office paper may jam and/or damage the cutting unit. Paper
clips should be removed from material being destroyed to prolong life and trouble-free operation of the
cutting unit.
Note: The model 391 C/2 is a high security paper shredder if anything other than common office paper
is inserted into the cutting head it will cause severe damage and void the warranty!
OVERLOADING
If too much paper is fed into machine, it will switch off automatically. Following a brief pause, the
machine will reverse automatically and the excess paper can be easily removed. Thin out the quantity
of paper before resuming shredding. If the cutting mechanism is frozen, do not attempt to run the
shredder alternately in the forward and reverse modes until the clogged material is released.
The motor is protected by a thermal overload device. Should the motor overheat, the thermal
overload unit will automatically stop the motor. Should this occur, wait approximately 15 minutes and
then restart the machine in reverse.
For safety reasons, the shredder will not operate when the cabinet door is open. A red indicator light
on the control panel will alert the user if the door is ajar.
When the waste bag is full, the shredder will shut off automatically. A red indicator light on the control
panel will alert the user that it is time to change the waste bag.
