Your new CD/DVD shredder incorporates powerful, heavy duty cutting mechanisms, serious and permanent
injury may result if proper precautions are not followed.
1. This equipment should never be operated by children or individuals that are untrained
or incapable of understanding these safety precautions!
2. Do not reach into the feed opening for any reason! Never insert fingers, hands, other
extremities, or objects not meant to be shredded into the feed opening!
3. Do not operate or come in close proximity to this equipment wearing long hair,
necktie, loose clothing, or jewelry which may activate a photoelectric on/off switch
and/or be pulled into the shredder.
4. Maintenance or repair of this equipment should be performed only be trained,
authorized service personnel.
5. Always disconnect electrical power (unplug) before removing or opening the cover or
other panels providing access to internal mechanisms.

Proper care of your new CD/DVD shredder will ensure many years of trouble free operation, with minimum of
maintenance or repair.
IMPORTANT: Please note that all packaging should be retained by the customer for (30) days from the
time of receipt. In the event that this unit needs to be sent back for replacement or repair this packaging
will be required to do so. Should the packaging have been discarded before the (30) day requested
period, packaging costs will be incurred by the customer.

Installing the oiler:
• Take the oiler holder out of the cabinet and
hook it into the side of the cabinet (A).
• Remove the lid from the oil bottle (B)
• Put the oil tube into the oil bottle and screw on (C)
• Click the tube into the connection (D)
Note: Must use SEM proprietary Anti Static
machines performance and may void warranty.
Close the door; Plug into wall socket.

When the oil bottle (B) is changed:
•Press the rocker switch “R” until the red LED
(A) no longer blinks red.

•Cutting shafts are automatically oiled.

damage the cutting unit. Shredding Paper may void
Warranty. NO PAPER!

•Press the rocker switch (1.): green light is on,
The machine is now ready for operation.
•Machine starts automatically when CD/DVD is inserted.
(Note: The machine will automatically switch off after
one hour and the green LED control light will turn off.)
•When the machine is switched off continuous operation
can be switched on. Press or hold until the machine
starts. To switch off the continuous operation press or
hold or “R”
Note: Feed one CD or DVD at a time only,
through small slot only as shown in (2.)
LED shows red (A).
Stops automatically if too many CD/DVDs are
inserted.
LED shows yellow (B).
Maximum CD/DVDs capacity during shredding
process.
LED Shows green (C).
Normal CD/DVDs capacity during shredding
process.
Important: Between CD/DVDs insertion allow the
machine to return to the LED green light. (C) If you
insert CD/DVDs while the LED yellow light (B) is lit you
may cause a jam, (See page 11 for jams).
Stops automatically when no further CD/DVDs are
inserted.
By continuous operation press or “R” switch off.

Unplug from the main. Clean the photo cell (A)
with a small brush or Q-tip with isopropyl
(rubbing alcohol)
By continuous operation press or “R” switch off.
Machine stops.
Symbols and “R” flash alternatively.
• Overload protection. Cooling down period
approximately 10-15 minutes.
• Symbol lights green, machine is ready
for operation.

SEM PRODUCT WARRANTY
SEM warrants, for a period of time listed below from date of shipment, that product will be free from defects in material and
workmanship when used under normal operating conditions. Excluded from warranty coverage are normal wear items and electrical
components. These items include and are not limited to Knives, Cutters, Belts, Chains, Switches, PC Boards, Optics and other
electrical contactors. These items are not included for consideration unless the components are deemed defective. Any purchased part
used in the assembly of a SEM System will carry the manufacturer’s original warranty for the original SEM customer. Warranty does
not cover damages by freight handlers, misuse, neglect, acts of nature, unauthorized modifications or the use of other than the factory
SEM components.

Warranty is conditional on notification to SEM’s Customer Service Department by calling (800)225-9293. All materials
being returned for warranty credit must have the requested Return Goods Authorization number from the Customer
Service Department, and must be returned within 30 days after the discovery of the defect. All shipping costs on returned
material must be prepaid by the customer. Cartons must be marked on the outside with the RGA number and “Warranty
Parts”. For executive model shredders, SEM, at our discretion reserves the right to repair or replace unit covered under
warranty. Warranty: March, 2009
