a.) Turn water supply “Off”.
b.) Relieve pressure by turning the 3-way valve to the
“Drain” position or pushing the “Red” pressure relief
button.
c.) Remove sumps & cartridges using existing sump
wrench. Recycle old wrench and sumps responsibly.

a.) Carefully clean any old lubricant and dirt from inside of
the heads.
b.) Remove old cartridge identification labels from both
heads.

Apply lubricant (supplied)
to O-Rings of SMF Adapters

a.) Install (3) SMF Adapters into heads, hand tight.
b.) Engage “Ears” of wrench (supplied) into SMF Adapters.
c.) Lightly tighten by turning “clockwise” when viewed
from bottom. DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN!

Apply lubricant (supplied) to O-Rings of plug and cartridge.

a.) Align the “ears” of the plug and cartridge with slots in
the SMF Adapters and insert by pushing upwards.
b.) Turn the plug and cartridge 1/8 turn “clockwise” , when
viewed from the bottom, until the “ears” are fully enaged
into the slots of the SMF Adapters.
c.) In problematic water areas, it may be desirable to use
optional pre-filter #108-231 in place of the bypass plug.

Apply new label to backplate and new cartridge identification
labels to left and right hand side filter heads.

a.) Turn water supply back “On”.
b.) Leave 3-way valve handle “down” to drain until all air is
purged from the system and only water comes out.
c.) Turn 3-way valve handle “Up” to direct water to equip-
ment. Check for leaks.

Turn water supply “Off”. Relieve pressure

position. Remove sumps & cartridges
using existing sump wrench. Recycle old
wrench and sumps responsibly.
For Legacy Style #2

Carefully clean any old lubricant and
dirt from inside of the heads. Remove
cartridge identification and backplate
labels.
Order Adapter
#300-780

Liberally apply silicone sealant supplied
to threads of SMF adapters.
Apply lubricant supplied
to O-Rings of adapters.

Insert SMF adapters into the existing
filter heads using the wrench provided.
Insert filter cartridges until fully
engaged into their locking tabs.

Apply new label to backplate and new
cartridge identification labels to filter
heads.
Turn water supply “On” and 3-way valve
to the “Up”, or operating position. Check
for leaks to complete the conversion
process.
