How to adjust watch bracelets with L shaped pins
Procedure A
Adjustable Clasp
To set the bracelet to the required length, depress the end pin of the spring bar as indicated
below using a pointed instrument (e.g. a pin) and relocate the spring bar in any one of the
holes.
If the length requires further
adjustment follow procedu re B.
Procedure B
If further adjustment is required
Look on the inside of the watch bracelet, taking note of any arrows
showing. The arrow indicates the direction the L shaped pin is to be removed.
Note: Usually the first 4-5 links either side of the clasp are removable.
Remove equal number of links from either side if possible or if an odd number of links,
remove the largest amount from the 6 o’clock side. E .g. 3 links in total, remove 2 links from
6 o’clock and 1 link from 12 o ’clock side.
If the link is very stiff, apply a tiny drop of sewing machine oil first into the links to be
removed and allow to soak through for a few minutes. Note: please ensure any oil being
used meets your companies health and safety regulations.
Removal of links
1. Place the round section of the adjusting pliers into the recess of the link with bracelet
adjusting pliers, as shown in above diagram.
2. Rest the flat jaw against the edge of the bracelet. Do not cover the complete bracelet
dge or the L shaped pin will not come out.

3. Close the pliers together and the link should come out.
4. Use top cutting pliers to grip the L shaped pin & remove it.
5. Count the required amount of links and repeat the process.
Reassembly
1. Align the links properly.
2. Push the L shaped pin in as far as possible.
3. Tap home with a hammer to secure the L shaped pin back into the link.
