Information to the User
This Policy and Procedure Manual is provided as a guide for purchasers and users of the Secure Care Model 135 Exit System. It is not intended as a catalog of warnings for the protection of anyone or as a substitute for obtaining professional assistance in the design of a facility's policies and procedures in connection with the use of the Secure Care System. Nothing in this Manual is intended to extend or modify the limited warranty expressly provided by Secure Care for its products, to create further warranties, or to extend benefits of any sort to anyone beyond those already expressly established by written contract with Secure Care.
Changes or modifications to the transmitter not expressly approved by Secure Care Products, Inc. may void the user's authority to operate the Model 135 system
FCC ID: KNKTX0001 This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules.
Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) This device may not cause harmful interference and (2) this device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation
Electrostatic Discharge Care should be taken to avoid electrostatic discharge (ESD) on or near
the transmitter case, since these types of events may damage or temporarily disable circuits and/ or components within the transmitter. Although ESD events are common, there are a few precautions that can be taken to minimize the risk. If carpeted floors, synthetic fiber clothing, and non-metal objects are used in the vicinity of transmitters, the caregivers should get in the habit of grounding themselves briefly by touching a metal surface prior to handling the transmitters. Avoid placing the transmitter in energized fields such as x-ray machines or near other electronic devices that may emit electrical or magnetic fields.

Intent of the Model 135 Infant ID System
The Model 135 Infant ID system is intended to augment existing policies and procedures regarding the protection of newborn infants in the Maternity and PostPartum setting.
The Infant ID Cut-Band transmitter is designed to be placed on the infants ankle soon after birth. In the event a monitored infant is taken near an exit monitored by the Model 135 Infant ID protection system, the system should arm and or lock the door. If the monitored infant is taken through a monitored exit location by an unauthorized person, the system should sound an audible alarm indicating the exit location the infant has been taken through.
If the strap of the Infant ID Cut-Band transmitter is tampered with, resulting in tearing of the conductive traces within the strap, the Model 135 system should alert nursing staff of the event via an audible and visual alarm condition at the Nurse Station location. All exit locations monitored by the Model 135 system should arm and or lock. In the event the door is open at the exit location, the Model 135 Exit Panel at the exit location should alarm, alerting nursing staff of the event via an audible and visual alarm at the Nurse Station location.

Placing the Transmitter into Use
Refer to your existing policy for information regarding when to apply the transmitter to the infant.
Obtain an Infant ID with Cut-Band transmitter (Part #A20290919) and an Infant ID cutBand Strap (Part # C42000913)
Attach the Strap (with base) to the Transmitter. Be sure to attach the base in the proper orientation.
Test the transmitter using the transmitter tester. (See transmitter testing instructions for details)
The transmitter should be tested on a daily basis while in use. (see testing documents attached.)
Route the strap around the infants' ankle. Pass the strap through the clasp mechanism on the side of the transmitter. Pull any excess strap through the clasp mechanism. Be sure to leave enough excess
strap to allow for swelling that may occur while not leaving too much to prevent the transmitter from being slipped off the infants ankle.
Do not cut excess strap. Simply fasten the excess strap to the front of the transmitter using tape.
Once the transmitter has been placed on the infants ankle, the transmitter ID number engraved on the transmitter should be recorded in the infants chart and programmed into the ID Nurse Station. (See programming instructions in the this manual)
