SES 302 and SES 303
The S ecure S ES 302 and SES 303 form
p art of a Z-Wave P lus™ home automat io n
network. The SES 302 measure s
temperature whilst the SES 303 measures
temp erature an d humidity. Th e sens ors are
battery-operated d evices w hich t ransmi t
information to an associa te d device in a
network.
The SES 302 a nd SES 303 are fully
compliant Z-Wav e Plus™ devices which will
work with other manu fac turer’s Z-Wave
devices.

External Pip e and Tank Temperature
Sensors (Optional)
The SES 302/303 can support either
1-thermi stor (SE S 0 01) or up to 4-external
d igital temperature se nsors (SES 002/003).
Please take note of the f oll owing:
1. Refer “Produ ct Order ing Code s” sect ion
for order detai l s.
2. The connector for exter nal probes is on
th e rear w all plate.
3. The conne ctor is only for connecting
external sensors .
4. Do not connect to the mains.

Installation
Keep the SES 302 / SES 303 in its sealed
pack until all dust and debris have been
cleared away prior to ma king connections .
Remove the wall p late f rom t he rear of t he
SES 302/303.
a) The w all plate ca n be released by
pressing the spri ng clips on the bott om
of the wall plate
b) While pres s ing spring cl ips, swing the
wall plate out and down to remove.

Choose the positi on where the unit is to be
mounted (refer to the following layout).
Avoid locati ons alongsi de or behind large
metal surfaces tha t could i nterfere with th e
lo w po wer rad io signals between the unit

and the controlle r. The sensor shou ld be
mounted on an internal wall, appr oximately
1.5 me tres (5 f eet) ab ov e floor level and
away from draughts, direct heat sources and
sunlight.
Mak e sure th at th ere is suffic ien t spac e
around the unit to all ow easy access to the
two retai ning spring cli ps on the base of the
wall plate.
It may be necessary to move the sensor
around to ensure good communication.
Do n ot attempt to m ount it on the wall until it
has been i ncluded on the net work.
Note: Inclusion means add and exclusion means delete.

On succe ss fu l inclusion the LED will flash
2 times.
The total proces s can ta ke u p to 2 0

details.
If t he LED flashes 4-times this means that
the inclusion proce ss ha s f ailed, so try
moving the SES 302/SES 303 to a nother
position a nd re peat the Incl usion steps. If
the inclusion process fails again, the device
may be alre ady included in another n etwo r k.
So first exclude and then include the device.

Access Types = Read/ Write
Size Bytes = 1, Min Value = 0, Max Value = 255
Zero configuration mean that the corresponding
functionality is disabled.
Configuration value = Desired value/ Resolution.
Example: To configure Delta temperature to 2 °C. The
value need to be configured in device is 2/0.1 = 20.
IMPORTANT: Controllers may only allow configuring
signed values. In order to set values in the range
128…255, the value sent in the application shall be equal
to desired value minus 256. For example, to set Delta
Temperature to 130, it may be needed to set a value
130−256=−126.
Note: For more information about Z-Wave command
classes and their use refer “SDS12652 Z-Wave
