9 Familiarise yourself with the application and limitations of the product, as well as potential hazards peculiar to the use of the thermometer. 9 Keep the thermometer clean for best and safest performance. 9 Store the thermometer in its protective cover when not in use.
9 When not in use, store in a safe, dry, childproof area. 8 DO NOT use equipment for any purpose other than that for which it is designed. 8 DO NOT allow untrained persons to operate the thermometer. 8 DO NOT use the thermometer to test objects above 250ºC.
2. INTRODUCTION
High precision digital thermometer with the sensor located in the tip of the stainless probe. Compact and lightweight measuring both °C and °F with hold function. Ideal for testing automotive air conditioning output. Powered by 1.5Volt cell (supplied). Temperature Range: -40°C to +250°C (-40°F to +482°F)

4. OPERATION
4.1. Remove the protective cover from the probe. The cover can, if required, be stowed on the other end of the thermometer body.
4.2. Turn the thermometer ON by pressing the ON/OFF button. The display will show all its symbols momentarily (as shown in g.1) and then revert to zero. Once the tip of the probe has sensed the temperature the display will change from zero to that temperature.
4.3. Switch between Centigrade and Fahrenheit by pressing the ºC/ºF button.
4.4. Press the hold button to hold the current reading on the display (the ‘HOLD’ symbol will begin to flash). To see the maximum reading of all the readings taken since switching on press HOLD again (‘MAX’ will flash on the display). To see the minimum reading of all the readings taken since switching on press HOLD again (‘MIN’ will flash on the display). To return to temperature measurement mode press HOLD again. This cycle can be repeated at any time.
4.5. Turn the thermometer OFF by pressing the ON/OFF button again. NOTE: Current readings are not held in memory when the thermometer is turned off.
4.6. If the thermometer is on but not in use it will turn itself off after approximately 20 mins.
4.7. If the measured temperature is over 250ºC the display will show ‘H - - ‘.
If the measured temperature is under -40ºC the display will show ‘L - - ‘.
5. MAINTENANCE
5.1. After use, clean the probe with warm water and replace the protective cover.
5.2. If the display appears fuzzy or faded the battery should be replaced. (1.5V, LR44 or equivalent)
5.3. Battery Removal.
5.4. Remove the battery from the thermometer by rotating the circular battery compartment cover on the back of the casing. Lift o󰀨 and tip out the battery.
