and properly maintained, give you years of trouble free performance.

1. SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
WARNING! Ensure Health and Safety, local authority and general workshop practice
regulations are adhered to when accessing the dipstick.
Maintain dipstick in good and clean condition for best and safest performance.
Wear approved eye protection. A full range of personal safety equipment is available from your
Sealey dealer.
Wear suitable clothing to avoid snagging. Do not wear jewellery and tie back long hair.
Renew the dipstick if bent or damaged in any way.
DO NOT touch hot parts of the vehicles engine or transmission when accessing the dipstick.
DO NOT touch live parts within the engine bay when accessing the dipstick.
DO NOT smoke or have live flames near the vehicle.
Vehicle should be in a well ventilated area.
WARNING! Under or over filling the engine or gearbox oil can cause permanent damage to
the vehicle. Always refer to the manufacturer's service Instructions, or a proprietary manual,
to establish the current procedure and data.
2. SPECIFICATION & USE
Mercedes Transmission Dipstick 1200mm.
(Engine Codes: 722.6).
When filling for the first time or after oil change
add 5 litres. Start engine and idle in P, shift
through the gears with brakes applied several
times then back to P, waiting 2 minutes before
checking the level. Reading when cold -
between max and min (25ºC range). Precise
checking is done at 80ºC. Once to
temperature the oil level must be between the
max and min (80ºC range). Perform cold and
hot checks with engine running.

Recycle unwanted materials instead of disposing of them as waste. All tools, accessories and
packaging should be sorted, taken to a recycle centre and disposed of in a manner which is
compatible with the environment.
