1. safetY
1.1. GeNeral safetY
88 88 dO NOt use the tester to perform a task for which it is not designed. 88 88 dO NOt allow untrained persons to use the tester. 88 88 dO NOt use whilst under the inuence of drugs, alcohol or intoxicating
medication.
89 88 Keep children and unauthorised persons away from the work area. 89 88 Keep work area clean and tidy and free from unrelated materials. 89 88 ensure the work area has adequate lighting. 89 88 After use, clean equipment and store in a cool, dry, child proof area.
8 88 WarNiNG!8Brake uid is ammable - keep away from sources of
ignition, including hot surfaces e.g. exhaust manifold.
1.2. brake fluid safetY
8 88 WarNiNG!8Brake uid will damage paintwork. Any spillage should be
ushed with water immediately.
9 Always read and comply with the warnings on the brake fluid container. 9 Wear eye protection and keep skin contact to a minimum. If brake fluid
enters eyes rinse with plenty of water and seek medical advice.
9 If swallowed seek medical advice immediately. 9 dispose of waste fluid in accordance with local authority regulations.
2. iNtrOductiON
Comparative electrolytic type tester. Checks moisture content of uid by resistance to electric current. Easily calibrated using new brake uid. Audible test cycle with three LED read-out. Just insert probe and press button for immediate result. Works on DOT4 and 5.1 specication uids.
Uses 9V battery (not included).

4. preparatiON
4.1. battery installation
4.1.1. Open battery compartment at back of tester, g.2 and insert PP3 or equivalent observing correct polarity.
4.2. calibration
4.2.1. Unfold the test bar.
4.2.2. Clean the two probes on the test bar head (g.3)
4.2.3. Dip the test bar head into a sample of uid drawn from a container which was previously unopened and sealed (g.3). This is particularly important as this uid will used as the reference against which subsequent samples are compared.
4.2.4. Press and hold the test button and turn the reset screw anticlockwise fully (g.4). All the LED’s should now be unlit.
4.2.5. Turn the reset screw clockwise until the green LED lights. The calibration procedure is now complete.

5. OperatiON
NOte: This tester is intended to provide a quick indication of the moisture content of brake uid. For a more precise measure we
recommend the use of a device which measures the boiling point of the uid, such as the Sealey VS0271 or VS0275.
5.1. Unfold the test bar and dip the head into the brake uid reservoir.
5.2. Press the test button for ve seconds and observe the LED indications:
GreeN: Moisture content below 0.5%; brake uid good. YellOW: moisture content between 0.5% and 3.5%; brake uid poor. Replacement is recommended. If uid is not replaced: a further
check with a device measuring brake uid boiling point is recommended.
red: Moisture content above 3.5%. This should be regarded as an indication that the brake uid is unsafe and should be replaced.
5.3. if iN aNY dOubt replace tHe brake fluid.
