1.1. elecTrical SafeTy
WarNiNG! It is the user’s responsibility to check the following:
Check all electrical equipment and appliances to ensure that they are safe before using. Inspect power supply leads, plugs and all
electrical connections for wear and damage. Sealey recommend that an RCd (Residual Current device) is used with all electrical
products. You may obtain an RCd by contacting your local Sealey stockist.
If the product is used in the course of business duties, it must be maintained in a safe condition and routinely PAT (Portable
Appliance Test) tested.
electrical safety information: it is important that the following information is read and understood.
1.1.1. ensure that the insulation on all cables and on the appliance is safe before connecting it to the power supply.
1.1.2. Regularly inspect power supply cables and plugs for wear or damage and check all connections to ensure that they are secure.
1.1.3. important: Ensure that the voltage rating on the appliance suits the power supply to be used and that the plug is tted with the
correct fuse - see fuse rating in these instructions.
8 DO NOT pull or carry the appliance by the power cable.
8 DO NOT pull the plug from the socket by the cable.
8 DO NOT use worn or damaged cables, plugs or connectors. ensure that any faulty item is repaired or
replaced immediately by a qualied electrician.
1.1.4. This product is tted with a BS1363/A 13 Amp 3 pin plug.
If the cable or plug is damaged during use, switch the electricity supply and remove from use.
Ensure that repairs are carried out by a qualied electrician.
Replace a damaged plug with a BS1363/A 13 Amp 3 pin plug. If in doubt contact a qualied electrician.
A) Connect the GREEN/YELLOW earth wire to the earth terminal ‘E’.
B) Connect the BROWN live wire to the live terminal ‘L’.
C) Connect the BLUE neutral wire to the neutral terminal ‘N’.
ensure that the cable outer sheath extends inside the cable restraint and that the restraint is tight.
Sealey recommend that repairs are carried out by a qualied electrician.
1.2. GeNeral SafeTy
9 Familiarise yourself with the application, limitations and potential hazards of the tile cutter.
WarNiNG! disconnect the cutter from the mains power before changing accessories, servicing or performing any maintenance.
9 The machine must only be serviced by a qualified person or service agent. Contact your Sealey stockist for information.
9 Place the cutter on a supporting surface strong enough to take the weight of the machine and work piece during operation.
9 Keep the work area clean and tidy and free from unrelated materials. ensure there is adequate lighting.
9 Inhaling dust can be harmful - always wear respiratory protection and ensure that there is adequate ventilation.
9 maintain the cutter in good condition, check moving parts alignment regularly. Keep blade clean and in good condition.
9 Replace or repair damaged parts. Use recommended parts only. Unauthorised parts may be dangerous and will invalidate the warranty.
WarNiNG! Keep all guards and holding screws in place, tight and in good working order. Check regularly for damaged parts.
9 A guard, or any other part, that is damaged must be repaired or replaced before the tool is next used. The safety guard is a
mandatory fitting when the cutter is used on premises covered by the Health & Safety at Work Act.
9 Before commencing work, ensure the blade is mounted correctly, securely fastened and is compatible with the machine, spindle speed
and the material to be cut. Never use a blade which is damaged, bent or warped. Use only recommended blades.
9 Remove adjusting keys and wrenches from the machine and the vicinity before turning it on.
9 machine operators must have received sufficient training and instructions as to the dangers posed by the cutter and the precautions to be
observed. operators must be under the supervision of a person who has a thorough knowledge and experience of the machine and the
required guards.
WarNiNG! Wear approved safety eye protection, ear defenders and respiratory protection.
9 Remove ill-fitting clothing. Remove ties, watches, rings and other loose jewellery and contain long hair.
9 maintain correct balance and footing. ensure the floor is not slippery and wear non-slip shoes.
9 Keep children and unauthorised persons away from the work area.
9 Avoid unintentional starting and never leave the cutter running unattended.
8 DO NOT use the cutter for a task for which it is not designed.
8 DO NOT get cutter wet or use in damp or wet locations or areas where there is condensation.
8 DO NOT use cutter where there are flammable liquids, solids or gases such as paint solvents and including waste wiping or cleaning
rags etc.
8 DO NOT operate the cutter if any parts are damaged or missing as this may cause failure and/or personal injury.
8 DO NOT operate the cutter when you are tired or under the influence of alcohol, drugs or intoxicating medication.

1.3. SPecific SafeTy ruleS
WarNiNG! Before each use, check that the blade is secure and not worn or damaged.
9 Hold the work piece firmly against the fence.
9 only feed the work piece into the blade against the rotation of the blade.
9 Avoid subjecting the blade to excessive strain, never force the work piece. maintain a controlled progression.
9 Should the blade jam switch the power off immediately to prevent damage to the motor.
9 TO AVOID WORK PIECE “KICKBACK” (when a work piece is violently thrown back towards you):
a) Keep the blade in good condition.
b) Keep fence parallel to the blade.
c) DO NOT release work piece until it is clear of the blade.
d) DO NOT attempt to cut a work piece that does not have a straight edge to guide along the fence.
9 Use a push stick when cutting narrow work pieces.
8 DO NOT use your hands (“free-hand”) to guide the work piece. Hold the work piece firmly against the fence to guide it into the blade.
8 DO NOT place yourself in an awkward operating position where a slip could cause your hand to move into the cutting blade.
8 DO NOT stand, or have any part of your body, in line with the plane of the blade.
8 DO NOT hold what will become the off-cut (the waste part of the work piece).
8 DO NOT reach over or behind the blade.
8 DO NOT attempt to free a jammed blade without first switching off or removing the plug from the mains power supply.
8 DO NOT cut any materials other than ceramic tile.
8 DO NOT use solvents to clean plastic parts as they may be damaged. Use a soft damp cloth only.
9 Store blades in a safe, dry, childproof location.
9 When not in use, switch off the cutter and remove the plug from the power supply.

Powered by 500W - 230V electric motor with thermal overload protection and Vde approved magnetic safety switch. Chrome plated table tilts
from 0° to 45° and is tted with adjustable parallel cutting fence. Also includes 45° cutting guide. Supplied with Ø180mm continuous rimmed
diamond cutting blade suitable for glazed ceramic, porcelain, quarry, slate and natural stone tiles. Incorporates 3.5ltr capacity water reservoir for

3. MOuNTiNG
The cutter should be used on a sturdy workbench (or similar). ensure that the supporting surface is strong enough to take the weight of the
cutter and the work piece during operation.

4. aDjuSTMeNTS
4.1. ON/Off SWiTcH
The cutter has an magnetic switch (fig.1.5) located on front of the machine. Push the “I“ button for on and the “o“ for oFF.

4.2. Table TilT (for bevel cutting)
To tilt the table, loosen both front and rear tilting lock knobs (fig.1.4) and adjust table to the required angle. Re-tighten the locking knobs.
WarNiNG! ensure the lock knobs are securely tightened to prevent table movement during cutting.
4.3. feNce
4.3.1. loosen the clamp screw (fig.1.3) and adjust the fence (fig.1.2) so that the required cut line on the tile aligns with the blade when the tile
is held firmly against the fence face.
4.3.2. After adjusting the fence always ensure that it is parallel to the blade by measuring the position of each end from the “0” graduations on
the table.
4.3.3. Tighten the clamp screws.

5. cHaNGiNG THe blaDe
5.1. Remove the water tray from under the cutter and ensure that the work table is not at an angle.
5.2. Tilt the cutter onto the left-hand side and remove the lower blade guard.
5.3. Hold the end of the shaft (fig.2.d) with a spanner on the flats and remove the blade retaining nut (fig.2.A).
5.4. Remove the outer blade washer (fig.2.B) and the blade.
5.5. When fitting the new blade it is very important to ensure that the rotation arrows on the blade match the direction arrow on the blade
guard.
5.6. Tighten retaining nut, (fig.2. A) while holding shaft end with spanner.
Note: The two blade washers (fig.2.B & C) are different and must be correctly fitted.
The inner washer (C) has a spigot (C1), to locate the blade, which is not present on the outer washer. each washer must be fitted with
the flat face in contact with the blade.
5.7. Replace lower blade guard, stand cutter upright and refit water tray.

6. OPeraTiNG iNSTrucTiONS
WarNiNG! As with all power tools, there are potential hazards involved with the use of this cutter. It is, therefore, vital to ensure you
read, understand and apply all the safety instructions in Section 1. Familiarise yourself again with the specific safety rules for each step of
the following operation. Failure to do so may cause serious damage and/or personal injury and may invalidate your warranty. Disconnect
the cutter from the mains power before making adjustments or changing blades. ensure that all clamps, screws and nuts are secure
and that the blade is in good condition and correctly mounted. alWayS have the blade guard down before turning on the cutter. Wear
approved safety eye protection.
6.1. Fill the water tray approx. two thirds so that the lower blade guard is in the water. The water cools and lubricates the blade during
cutting and also helps to suppress the dust.
6.2. Set the table tilt angle and the fence position to suit the required cut. lower the blade guard as far as possible whilst leaving room for
the tile to pass beneath it.
6.3. Check that everything is ready, plug the cutter into the mains power supply and switch on.
WarNiNG! DO NOT attempt to pick up an off-cut before the blade has completely stopped.
6.4. Hold work firmly against the fence and table (hold the main section, not the piece that will become the off-cut).
6.5. Slowly move the work piece forward into the rotating blade. Continue holding the work piece firmly until the cut is complete.
eNVirONMeNT PrOTecTiON
Recycle unwanted materials instead of disposing of them as waste. All tools, accessories and packaging should be sorted, taken to
a recycling centre and disposed of in a manner which is compatible with the environment. When the product becomes completely
unserviceable and requires disposal, drain any fluids (if applicable) into approved containers and dispose of the product and fluids
according to local regulations.
Weee reGulaTiONS
Dispose of this product at the end of its working life in compliance with the EU Directive on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment
(Weee). When the product is no longer required, it must be disposed of in an environmentally protective way. Contact your local solid
waste authority for recycling information.
