1. SAFETY
1.1. This insulating mat is to be used exclusively for electrical purposes by suitably trained and competent persons in accordance with your
company’s safe methods of working practice, and these instructions for use.
1.2. The mat is to be part of a safe system of work and should not be the only protection against electrical risk.
1.3. The mat should not be unnecessarily exposed to heat or light, or allowed to come in contact with chemicals, oil, grease, conductive grease,
turpentine, white spirit or strong acid.
2. INTRODUCTION
Class 2 High voltage insulating rubber floor mat. Essential item required to protect vehicle technicians from the risk of electric shock when working
on electric or hybrid vehicles. Independently tested and certified as offering safe protection up to 17kV AC in accordance with BS EN 61111.
3. SPECIFICATION

4. BEFORE USE
4.1. Prior to every use, the mat must be visually inspected by a competent person. Check for damage such as cracks, tears, small
pinholes, and any contamination that might affect the dielectric characteristics.
4.2. If the mat is damaged, contaminated, or thought to be unsafe it must not be used.
5. USAGE
5.1. Electrical work must be carried out indoors and in dry conditions.
5.2. It is strongly advised to provide an exclusion zone around the working area at a minimum distance of 1.5 metres.
5.3. Both sides of the mat are slip resistant; the ribbed side is the upper surface.
5.4. The mat is used to cover the floor area on which the operative is working. The operative must stand on the mat and ensure their feet do not
overhang the mat at any time whilst working.
5.5. The mat is supplied as a square metre, cutting and resizing of the mat is permitted subject to the following conditions:
1. The working mat must not have length and width less than 600 mm.
2. It is the responsibility of the user to store all cut portions correctly.
3. If the dimensions of the mat are reduced by the user to a point that the markings are not complete, the user should ensure the markings
are duplicated in a durable manner on any portions which are to remain in use.
6. CLEANING
6.1. If the mat becomes soiled, it should be cleaned as soon as possible with a suitable solvent for the contaminant, if appropriate, or
washed with soap and water at a temperature not exceeding 65°C, and thoroughly dried.
6.2. If insulating compounds, such as tar and paint stick to the mat, the affected area should be wiped immediately with a suitable solvent,
avoiding excessive solvent use, and then immediately washed and treated as described above.
WARNING: Petrol, paraffin, turpentine or white spirit should not be used to remove such compounds.
6.3. If the mat becomes wet in use or by washing it must be dried thoroughly before re-commencing work. DO NOT use a heat source that
exceeds 65°C.
7. STORAGE
7.1. Care should be taken to ensure that the mat is not compressed or folded.
7.2. DO NOT store in proximity to steam pipes, radiators or other sources of heat.
7.3. DO NOT store in direct sunlight, artificial light or sources of ozone.
7.4. Store the mat at an ambient temperature of between 10°C and 21°C
ENVIRONMENT PROTECTION
Recycle unwanted materials instead of disposing of them as waste. All tools, accessories and packaging should be sorted, taken to
a recycling centre and disposed of in a manner which is compatible with the environment. When the product becomes completely
unserviceable and requires disposal, drain any fluids (if applicable) into approved containers and dispose of the product and fluids
according to local regulations.
