1. SaFETY inSTRuCTiOnS
1.1 GEnERal SaFETY
 DANGER ! Take care when using and moving extended ladders in the vicinity of power cables - risk of potentially fatal electric shock.WaRninG! Ensure Health and safety, local authority, and general workshop practice regulations are adhered to when using this
equipment.
familiarise yourself with the application and limitations of the ladder, as well as the potential hazards. Maintain the equipment in good condition. replace or repair damaged parts. use genuine parts only. unauthorised parts may be dangerous and will invalidate the warranty. Keep the work area clean, uncluttered and ensure there is adequate lighting.WaRninG! use ladder on level and solid ground and either have an assistant stand on the lowest rung or otherwise anchor the base of
the ladder to prevent slipping. WaRninG! dO nOT use the ladder, step ladder or scaffolding on sloping ground. When viewed from the front, the top of the ladder section(s) must always be directly above the base.
 Place ladder at an angle of 65° to 75° - foot of ladder 1 metre from wall for each 3 metres up - for stability.  Where possible, lash top of ladder to a fixture to prevent slipping.  WaRninG! never over-reach when on the ladder, step ladder or scaffolding.  Keep children and unauthorised persons away from the working area.  dO nOT use the ladder, step ladder or scaffolding for any purpose other than that for which they are designed.  dO nOT use the equipment if any parts are damaged or missing as this may cause failure and/or personal injury.  dO nOT exceed the rated capacity of the ladder, step ladder or scaffolding.  dO nOT climb scaffolding to get onto platform. Always access the platform using a separate set of steps.  dO nOT allow children to climb the ladder, step ladder or scaffolding.  dO nOT use the equipment when you are tired or under the influence of alcohol, drugs or intoxicating medication.  When not in use store in a safe, dry, childproof area.
2. inTROduCTiOn
En 131 Approved four-way, four-section aluminium ladder with mechanically swaged joints. six robust auto latching locking hinges allow for multi positioning. can be used as a platform, straight ladder, step ladder or offset ladder. Extra safety provided by twelve reinforced rungs and stabiliser feet. fitted with extendable legs providing increased climbing height. supplied with metal platform for use as platform and scaffold ladder.

4. aSSEmBlY & uSE
4.1 to change the orientation of the ladder the hinges must be unlocked (see fig.1). WaRninG! Ensure all the hinges are locked before using the ladder.
4.2 Bolt the feet to each end of the ladder. refer to fig.2c secure with nut and bolts (fig.2D).
4.3 to extend or shorten the ladder, pull the spring loaded locking arms outward (fig.2A) and slide the ladder extension outwards to extend
or inwards to shorten (fig.2B). Ensure the arms or locked into the ladder before using.
4.4 Work Platform
4.4.1 unlock the outer two sets of hinges and bend the ladder at each end, keep the centre hinge locked straight. see diagram A.
4.4.2 turn the ladder onto its feet and insert the platform plates.

4.5 Extension ladder imPORTanT! always position the ladder at an angle between 65° and 75° to the horizontal. The ladder will be within this range if the base is one third of the effective ladder length away from the foot of the wall.
4.5.1 unlock all the hinges and bend each section of the ladder so to align it straight. see diagram B.
4.5.2 turn the ladder onto its feet.
4.6 Step ladder
4.6.1 unlock all hinges and straighten the ladder as in 4.5.
4.6.2 unlock the centre hinge and close the ladder together until it locks in the step ladder position. see diagram c.
4.6.3 turn the ladder onto its feet.
4.7 Offset ladder
4.7.1 set up the ladder as in 4.5.1.
4.7.2 unlock the hinges at one end of the ladder and bend until it locks, like in diagram D.
4.7.3 turn the ladder onto its feet.
5 . mainTEnanCE
5.1 Periodically check that all fixings are tight and secure, but dO nOT overtighten.
5.2 check that the treads are in good condition and are not worn, replace if necessary.
5.3 When not in use, store in a clean, dry, childproof environment.
