Model: BD150
Scintex Biodiesel Processor
Assembly Instructions
IMPORTANT:
The process of making Biodiesel can release volatile gases (Methanol) from the tops of the
vessels. The installed position of your BD150 relative to ignition sources and existing
household electrical connections should be carefully considered.
Your BD150 kit MUST be installed on firm flat ground.
The BD150 should be kept in a location protected from the elements. Electrical components
are not recommended for outside use.
The metal frame of the kit can contain sharp edges and residual drilling swarf, SCINTEX
promotes the use of gloves at all stages of frame assembly.

STEP 1 - Frame Assembly
The frame has been labeled in a method designed to make assembly straight forward. Steel
should be arranged such that labels align AA, BB, CC, etc. See image 1 & 2.
Bolts should be left finger tight until vessels are hung in frame.
NOTE: Additional bolts have been provided in the kit to what is required

STEP 2 - Hang the cone bottom tanks
The 200L vessel will have been provided with the correct mounting bolts installed from the
supplier. Use these bolts with spring washers to mount this vessel in the frame. Care should
be taken not to over tighten these bolts, spring washers should be compressed.
The 60L vessel will need the SCINTEX provided bolts with spacers installed to mount
correctly. Discard the bolts provided with the vessel as these will not be the correct length,
the spring washers should be retained and reused. See image 3.
Once vessels have been hung all frame bolts can be tightened to compress spring washer.

STEP 3 - Fit Valve Plate & Pump Timer
The vale plate and electrical box cross member are an integral part of the kit and assist in
providing stiffness to the frame design. All holes have been predrilled in the frame to mount
the valve plate and pump timer.
The pump timer should be mounted to the cross support brace, again all holes have been
predrilled. See Images 4 & 5.

STEP 4 - Install Tank Fittings
Tank fittings are included in the kit and their mounting locations are as follows. Remember
to thread tape all threaded fittings to ensure they won't leak.
2” Tank Fitting – bottom of 200L vessel - See Image 6
3/4" Tank Fitting – Top of 200L vessel - See Image 7
3/4"Tank Fitting - Half way up 200L vessel - See Image 7
1” Anti Vortex Fitting – bottom of 60L vessel (29mm hole) - See Image 8 & 9

STEP 5 - Install Immersion Heater & Control Box
Screw the immersion heater into the 2" tank fitting at the bottom of the 200L cone bottom
tank. See Image 10. Note: You may need to remove the tank fitting to create room for the
immersion element to enter the tank.
Then attached the heater control unit to the cross beam holding the pump timer. See Image
11.

STEP 6 - Fitting Thermocouple
The thermocouple has a bayonet style fitting. Screw the bayonet into the 3/4" tank fitting
half way up the 200L tank. See Image 12.
Then connect the thermocouple wire.

STEP 7 - Mounting the Pump
Bolt the pump onto the frame using 4x bolts, washers and nuts. The pump inlet should be
closest to the Valve Plate. See Image 13.
Image 13
NOTE: It is recommended all bolts are checked for tightness on a regular basis. In some
circumstances a small amount of lock tight may be required to ensure maintain a firm
mounting.
STEP 8 - Install Remaining Fittings
1) Screw the 2x hose tail fittings into the pump inlet / outlet. See Image 14.
2) Install the 2x fitting sets to the top and bottom of the filter house. Note: The filter housing
legs can be extended to allow room for the fittings. See Image 15 & 16.

STEP 9 - Fitting the Hoses
Label Length Location
1A Hose 3/4" 300mm Left top manifold outlet to 200L
1B Hose 3/4" 300mm Right top manifold outlet to 60L
1C Hose 3/4" 600mm Pump suction to lower manifold
1G Hose 3/4" 2300mm Filter outlet (bottom) return to 200L
1D Hose 3/4" 2000mm Lower manifold fill vessel hose
1E Hose 3/4" 500mm Pump discharge to filter housing (clamps)
1F Hose 3/4" 750mm Filter bypass hose (top to bottom housing)
See Diagram 1 at the end of this document. Ensure to use a hose clamp on each hose tail
fitting. Note: Some hoses are only required if you have purchased the BD150 Package with
filter housing.
