SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS – Charge the Instant Power™ internal battery

immediately after purchase, after every use and every 30 days. This manual will show
you how to use your Instant Power™ safely and effectively. Please read, understand
and follow these instructions and precautions carefully, as this manual contains
important safety and operating instructions. The safety messages used throughout this
manual contain a signal word, a message and an icon.

The signal word indicates the level of the hazard in a situation.

Indicates an imminently hazardous situation which, if not avoided, will result in
death or serious injury to the operator or bystanders.

Indicates a potentially hazardous situation which, if not avoided, could result in
death or serious injury to the operator or bystanders.

Indicates a potentially hazardous situation which, if not avoided, could result in
moderate or minor injury to the operator or bystanders.

Indicates a potentially hazardous situation which, if not avoided, could result in
damage to the equipment or vehicle or property damage.

Use of an improper extension cord could result in a risk of re and electric shock. When 1.6

an extension cord is used, make sure:

That the pins on the plug of the extension cord are the same number, size and shape •
as those of the plug on the Instant Power™ charger.

That the extension cord is properly wired and in good electrical condition.•

To reduce the risk of electric shock, unplug the Instant Power™ charger from the outlet 1.7
before attempting any maintenance or cleaning. Simply turning off the controls will not
reduce this risk.

When charging the internal battery, work in a well ventilated area and do not restrict the 1.8
ventilation in any way.

Do not operate the Instant Power™ with damaged cables or clips; have the cable or clip 1.9

replaced immediately a qualied service person. (Call customer service at: 1-800-621-

Do not operate the Instant Power™ if it has received a sharp blow, been dropped or 1.10

otherwise damaged in any way; take it to a qualied service person. (Call customer

service at: 1-800-621-5485.)

Do not disassemble the Instant Power™; take it to a qualied service person when 1.11
service or repair is required. Incorrect reassembly may result in a risk of re or electric

RISK OF EXPLOSIVE GASES.

WORKING IN THE VICINITY OF A LEAD-ACID BATTERY IS DANGEROUS. 1.12
BATTERIES GENERATE EXPLOSIVE GASES DURING NORMAL BATTERY
OPERATION. FOR THIS REASON, IT IS OF UTMOST IMPORTANCE THAT YOU
FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS EACH TIME YOU USE THE INSTANT POWER™.

To reduce the risk of a battery explosion, follow these instructions and those published 1.13
by the battery manufacturer and the manufacturer of any equipment you intend to use in
the vicinity of the battery. Review the cautionary markings on these products and on the
engine.

This Instant Power™ employs parts, such as switches and circuit breakers, that tend to 1.14
produce arcs and sparks. If used in a garage, locate this Instant Power™ 18 inches (46

cm) or more above oor level.

PERSONAL PRECAUTIONS2.

RISK OF EXPLOSIVE GASES. A SPARK NEAR
THE BATTERY MAY CAUSE A BATTERY
EXPLOSION. TO REDUCE THE RISK OF A
SPARK NEAR THE BATTERY:

Working in the vicinity of a lead-acid battery is dangerous. Batteries generate explosive 2.1
gases during normal battery operation. For this reason, it is of utmost importance that
you follow the instructions each time you use the Instant Power™.

NEVER smoke or allow a spark or ame in the vicinity of a battery or engine.2.2

Remove personal metal items such as rings, bracelets, necklaces and watches when 2.3
working with a lead-acid battery. A lead-acid battery can produce a short-circuit current
high enough to weld a ring or the like to metal, causing a severe burn.

Be extra cautious to reduce the risk of dropping a metal tool onto the battery. It might 2.4
spark or short-circuit the battery or other electrical part that may cause an explosion.

Do not permit the internal battery of the Instant Power™ to freeze. Never charge a 2.5
frozen battery.

To prevent sparking, NEVER allow clips to touch together or contact the same piece of 2.6
metal.

Consider having someone close enough by to come to your aid when you work near a 2.7
lead-acid battery.

Have plenty of fresh water and soap nearby in case battery acid contacts your skin, 2.8
clothing or eyes.

Wear complete eye and body protection, including safety goggles and protective 2.9
clothing. Avoid touching your eyes while working near the battery.

If battery acid contacts your skin or clothing, immediately wash the area with soap and 2.10

water. If acid enters your eye, immediately ood the eye with cold running water for at

least 10 minutes and get medical attention right away.
If battery acid is accidentally swallowed, drink milk, the whites of eggs or water. DO NOT 2.11

induce vomiting. Seek medical attention immediately.

PREPARING TO USE THE INSTANT POWER3. ™

RISK OF CONTACT WITH BATTERY ACID. BATTERY ACID IS
A HIGHLY CORROSIVE SULFURIC ACID.

Be sure the area around the battery is well ventilated while the jump starter is being 3.1
used.

Clean the battery terminals before using the jump starter. During cleaning, keep airborne 3.2
corrosion from coming into contact with your eyes, nose and mouth. Use baking soda
and water to neutralize the battery acid and help eliminate airborne corrosion. Do not
touch your eyes, nose or mouth.

Add distilled water to each cell until the battery acid reaches the level specied by the 3.3
battery manufacturer. Do not overll. For a battery without removable cell caps, such

as valve regulated lead acid batteries (VRLA), carefully follow the manufacturer’s
instructions.

Read, understand and follow all instructions for the Instant Power™, battery, vehicle 3.4
and any equipment used near the battery and Instant Power™. Study all of the battery

manufacturer’s specic precautions while charging and recommended rates of charge.

Determine the voltage of the battery by referring to the vehicle owner’s manual and 3.5
make sure that the output voltage of the jump starter is correct.

Make sure that the Instant Power™ cable clips make tight connections.3.6

INSTANT POWER4. ™ LOCATION

RISK OF EXPLOSION AND CONTACT WITH
BATTERY ACID.

Locate the Instant Power™ as far away from the battery as the DC cables permit.4.1
Never place the Instant Power™ directly above the battery being jumped; gases from 4.2

the battery will corrode and damage the Instant Power™.
Do not operate the Instant Power™ in a closed-in area or restrict the ventilation in any 4.3

way.

DC CONNECTION PRECAUTIONS5.

Connect and disconnect the DC output clips only after setting all of the Instant Power™ 5.1
switches to the “off” position (if applicable) and removing the AC plug from the electrical
outlet. Never allow the clips to touch each other.

Attach the clips to the battery and chassis, as indicated in section 6.5.2

FOLLOW THESE STEPS WHEN CONNECTING TO A BATTERY6.

A SPARK NEAR THE BATTERY MAY CAUSE A
BATTERY EXPLOSION. TO REDUCE THE RISK
OF A SPARK NEAR THE BATTERY:

Attach the output cables to the battery and chassis as indicated below. Never allow the 6.1
output clips to touch each other.

Position the DC cables to reduce the risk of damage by the hood, door and moving or 6.2
hot engine parts. NOTE: If it is necessary to close the hood during the jump starting
process, ensure that the hood does not touch the metal part of the battery clips or cut
the insulation of the cables.

Stay clear of fan blades, belts, pulleys and other parts that can cause injury.6.3
Check the polarity of the battery posts. The POSITIVE (POS, P, +) battery post usually 6.4

has a larger diameter then the NEGATIVE (NEG, N, -) post.
Determine which post of the battery is grounded (connected) to the chassis. If the 6.5

negative post is grounded to the chassis (as in most vehicles), see step 6.5. If the
positive post is grounded to the chassis, see step 6.6.

For a negative-grounded vehicle, connect the POSITIVE (RED) clip from the battery 6.6
Instant Power™ to the POSITIVE (POS, P, +) ungrounded post of the battery. Connect
the NEGATIVE (BLACK) clip to the vehicle chassis or engine block away from the
battery. Do not connect the clip to the carburetor, fuel lines or sheet-metal body parts.
Connect to a heavy gauge metal part of the frame or engine block.

For a positive-grounded vehicle, connect the NEGATIVE (BLACK) clip from the battery 6.7
Instant Power™ to the NEGATIVE (NEG, N, -) ungrounded post of the battery. Connect
the POSITIVE (RED) clip to the vehicle chassis or engine block away from the battery.
Do not connect the clip to the carburetor, fuel lines or sheet-metal body parts. Connect
to a heavy gauge metal part of the frame or engine block.

When disconnecting the Instant Power™, turn all switches to off (if applicable), remove 6.8
the clip from the vehicle chassis and then remove the clip from the battery terminal.

CHARGING AND AC POWER CORD CONNECTIONS7.

RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK OR FIRE.

The Instant Power™ charger is for use on a nominal 120-volt circuit. The plug must 7.1
be plugged into an outlet that is properly installed and grounded in accordance with

all local codes and ordinances. The plug pins must t the receptacle (outlet). Do not

use with an ungrounded system. NOTE: Pursuant to Canadian Regulations, use of an
adapter plug is not allowed in Canada. Use of an adapter plug in the United States is not
recommended and should not be used.

CHARGING THE INTERNAL BATTERY OF THE INSTANT POWER™9.
IMPORTANT: CHARGE IMMEDIATELY AFTER PURCHASE, AFTER EACH USE AND

EVERY 30 DAYS TO KEEP THE INSTANT POWER™ INTERNAL BATTERY FULLY
CHARGED.

LED Indicators:9.1

To check the internal battery’s charge status, press the Battery Status button on the front
of the Instant Power™.

The LED lights will indicate the charge level as follows:

A red LED indicates a 50% or less charge and you should immediately recharge the •
Instant Power™.

A yellow LED indicates a 50 to 75% charge. The Instant Power™ may be used but •
should be recharged as soon as possible.

A green LED indicates the internal battery is fully charged.•
The CHARGING (red) LED indicates the Instant Power™ is charging (connected to •

an AC power source.) At full charge, the CHARGED (green) LED will light.

NOTE: The internal battery’s percent of charge is most accurate when the Instant
Power™ has been disconnected from all devices and charging sources for a few hours.

Charging the Internal Battery using the Built-In Charger:9.2

To charge, plug an 18 gauge (AWG) or larger extension cord into the charger plug on 1.
the back of the Instant Power™. (Extension cord not included; must be purchased
separately.)

Plug the extension cord into a 120V AC electrical wall outlet. 2.
The CHARGING (red) LED will glow indicating charging.3.
The CHARGED (green) LED will light when the battery has reached full charge. This 4.

could take up to 72 hours due to the age and condition of the battery. The charger
will automatically go into maintain mode and maintain the battery at full charge
without damaging it.

Charge the Instant Power™ as soon as possible after use.5.

Do not use the Instant Power™ while charging the internal battery.

You may also charge the internal battery while driving, using the male-to-male charger
cable (p/n 94500109 – not included). Insert one end of the accessory cable into the 12V
DC power outlet and the other end into the vehicle’s accessory outlet (lighter socket).
Completely disconnect the charger cable when the engine is not running.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS10.
Jump Starting a Vehicle Engine10.1

Do not use the Instant Power™ while charging the internal battery.

Turn the vehicle’s ignition OFF before making cable connections.1.
Connect the Instant Power™ to the battery following the precautions listed in 2.

section 3.

Risk of Explosion.
If you have connected the clips backwards, an audio alarm will sound. DO NOT
turn the On/Off switch to the ON position. This could cause serious damage to
the Instant Power™ or the vehicle. Reverse the connections and the audio alarm
will stop.

Crank the engine. If the engine does not start within 5-8 seconds, stop cranking and 3.
wait at least 1 minute before attempting to start the vehicle again. (This permits the
Instant Power™ to cool down.)

After the engine starts, disconnect the black clip (-) and then the red clip (+) in that 4.
order and clip them back onto the Instant Power™ storage holders.

Recharge the Instant Power™ as soon as possible after use.5.

Risk of Explosion.
To prevent sparking, NEVER allow the clips to touch together or to contact the
same piece of metal. Never attempt to jump start a frozen battery.

Powering a 12V DC Device:10.2

The Instant Power™ is a power source for all 12V DC accessories that are equipped

with a 12V accessory plug. Use it for power outages and shing or camping trips.

Estimated usage time is listed in the chart below.
Make sure the device to be powered is OFF before inserting the 12V DC accessory plug

into the 12V DC accessory outlet.

Ensure the battery clips are securely clipped on the storage holders.1.
Open the protective cover of the DC power outlet on the back of the Instant Power™.2.
Plug the 12V DC device into the DC power outlet, and turn the 12V DC device on (if 3.

required).
If the 12V DC device draws more than 15A or has a short circuit, the internal circuit 4.

breaker of the Instant Power™ will trip and disconnect the power to the device. If this
occurs, disconnect the 12V DC device in question and press the reset button located
on the back of the Instant Power™ to reset the circuit breaker.

The DC power outlet is wired directly to the internal battery. Extended operation of a 12V
DC device may result in excessive battery drain. Recharge immediately after unplugging
the 12V DC device.

Using the Built-In Light10.3

Position the Instant Power™ on a at, stable surface near the intended work area.1.

Ensure the battery clips are securely clipped on the storage holders.2.
Press the Light Switch.3.
The Instant Power™ light will turn on and illuminate your work area.4.
Press the Light Switch again to turn off the light.5.
Charge the Instant Power™ as soon as possible after using the built-in light.6.

NOTE: With a fully charged internal battery, the built-in light should provide 55 to 65
hours of continuous, useful light.

Using the Air Compressor10.4

Risk of explosion.

Read the instructions of the product being inated before using the compressor.
Avoid over ination, do not exceed the manufacturer’s recommended pressures.

Do not leave the air compressor unattended during use.

Ensure the battery clips are securely on the storage holders.1.
Remove the air compressor hose from the storage compartment in the back of the 2.

Instant Power™. Install adapters as necessary.

Attach the air compressor hose to the product or accessory to be inated by ipping 3.

down the lever.

Place the Compressor Switch in the ON position and inate the product.4.
When the product is inated to the proper air pressure (using the air compressor 5.

gauge) place the Compressor Switch in the OFF position and remove the hose.
Do not run for more than 10 minutes maximum at a time. Allow the Instant Power™ 6.

to cool down for 10 minutes before using again.

NOTE: To prevent overheating, the compressor has built-in thermal protection that
will turn the compressor off before it overheats. If the compressor shuts off, wait a few
minutes and it will automatically restart when the compressor cools.

NOTE: The air compressor is rated for 150 PSI.

proper pressure has been reached. Do not over inate.

MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS11.

After use and before performing maintenance, unplug and disconnect the Instant 11.1
Power™ (see sections 3 and 4).

Use a dry cloth to wipe all battery corrosion and other dirt or oil from the battery clips, 11.2
cords, and the Instant Power™ case.

Ensure that all of the Instant Power™ components are in place and in good working 11.3
condition, for example, the plastic boots on the battery clips.

Servicing does not require opening the unit, as there are no user-serviceable parts.11.4

All other servicing should be performed by qualied service personal.11.5

MOVING AND STORAGE INSTRUCTIONS12.

Store the Instant Power™ in an upright position. 12.1
Store inside, in a cool, dry place.12.2
Do not store the clips on the handle, clipped together, on or around metal, or clipped 12.3

to cables. The clips on the Instant Power™ are live and will produce arcing or sparking
if they come in contact with each other. To prevent accidental arcing, always keep the
clips on the storage holders when not using it to jump start a vehicle.

If the Instant Power™ is moved around the shop or transported to another location, take 12.4
care to avoid/prevent damage to the cords, clips and Instant Power™. Failure to do so
could result in personal injury or property damage.

CHARGE IMMEDIATELY AFTER PURCHASE•
KEEP FULLY CHARGED•

Charge the Instant Power™ internal battery immediately after purchase, after every
use and every 30 days.

All batteries are affected by temperature. The ideal storage temperature is at 70 degrees
Fahrenheit. The internal battery will gradually self-discharge (lose power) over time,
especially in warm environments. Leaving the battery in a discharged state may result
in permanent battery damage. To ensure satisfactory performance and avoid permanent
damage, charge the internal battery every month.

normal charge. Double check all connections, the Instant Power™ battery charge level,

obligation under this warranty is solely to repair or replace your product, with a new or
reconditioned unit, at the option of the Manufacturer. It is the obligation of the purchaser

RIESGO DE GASES EXPLOSIVOS.

Para reducir el riesgo de explosión de una batería, siga estas instrucciones y aquellas 1.13

Este Instant Power™ está equipado con partes, tales como, interruptores y 1.14

PRECAUCIONES PERSONALES2.

RIESGO DE GASES EXPLOSIVOS. UNA CHISPA CERCA DE LA BATERÍA
HACER QUE LA BATERÍA EXPLOTE. PARA REDUCIR EL RIESGO DE
CHISPAS CERCA DE LA BATERÍA:

Resulta peligroso trabajar en forma cercana a una batería de plomo. Las baterías 2.1
generan gases explosivos durante su normal funcionamiento. Por este motivo, resulta
de suma importancia que siga las instrucciones cada vez que utiliza el Instant Power™.

NUNCA fume o permita la presencia de chispas o llamas en la proximidad de una 2.2
batería o motor.

No utilice elementos personales de metal tales como anillos, pulseras, collares y relojes 2.3
al trabajar con una batería de plomo-ácido. Una batería de plomo-ácido puede producir

una corriente de cortocircuito lo sucientemente elevada como para soldar un anillo o

provocar efectos similares sobre el metal, causando una quemadura de gravedad.
Tenga especial cuidado para reducir el riesgo de dejar caer una herramienta de metal 2.4

médica en forma inmediata.

Si el ácido de la batería es accidentalmente ingerido, se recomienda beber leche, clara 2.11
de huevo o agua. NO provoque vómito. Busque ayuda médica de inmediato.

PREPARACIÓN PARA EL USO DEL INSTANT POWER3. ™

RIESGO DE CONTACTO CON EL ÁCIDO DE LA BATERÍA.
EL ÁCIDO DE LA BATERÍA ES UN ÁCIDO SULFÚRICO
ALTAMENTE CORROSIVO.

La carga de la batería interna, debe realizarse en áreas bien ventiladas, sin restricción 3.1
alguna.

Limpie los terminales de la batería antes de usar el Instant Power™. Durante la 3.2
limpieza, evite que la corrosión producida por aire tenga contacto con sus ojos, nariz
y boca. Utilice bicarbonato de sodio y agua para neutralizar el ácido de la batería y
ayudar a eliminar la corrosión producida por aire. No toque ojos, nariz o boca.

Agregue agua destilada a cada pila hasta que el ácido de la batería alcance el 3.3

nivel especicado por el fabricante de la batería. No provoque derrames. En lo que

concierne a baterías que no cuentan con tapas extraíbles para pilas, tales como
baterías de plomo-ácido reguladas por válvulas (VRLA, por sus siglas en inglés), siga
cuidadosamente las instrucciones del fabricante.

Lea, comprenda y siga todas las instrucciones para el Instant Power™, la batería, el 3.4
vehículo y cualquier equipo que se utilice cerca de la batería y el Instant Power™.

Determine el voltaje de la batería consultando el manual del usuario del vehículo y 3.5

LA BATERÍA. PARA REDUCIR EL RIESGO DE
PROVOCAR CHISPAS CERCA DE LA BATERÍA:

Conecte los cables de salida a la batería y al chasis según lo indicado abajo. Nunca 6.1
permita que las pinzas hagan contacto una con el otra.

Ubique los cables de C.C. para reducir el riesgo de daños a la cubierta, a la puerta y a 6.2
las piezas móviles o calientes del motor. NOTA: Si es necesario cerrar el cofre durante
el proceso de arranca, asegúrese que el cofre no toque parte metálica de la batería o
pele los cables.

Manténgase alejado de las paletas del ventilador, correas, poleas y otras piezas que 6.3
podrían provocar lesiones.

Verique la polaridad de los bornes de la batería. El borne POSITIVO (POS, P, +) de la 6.4

batería generalmente posee un diámetro mayor al borne NEGATIVO (NEG, N, -).
Determine qué borne de la batería hace descarga a tierra (se encuentra conectado) con 6.5

el chasis. Si el borne negativo hace descarga a tierra con el chasis (como en la mayor
parte de los vehículos), ver el paso 6.5. Si el borne positivo hace descarga a tierra con
el chasis, ver el paso 6.6.

En un vehículo con descarga a tierra por borne negativo, conecte el gancho POSITIVO 6.6
(ROJO) del Instant Power™ de batería al borne POSITIVO (POS, P, +) sin descarga
a tierra de la batería. Conecte el gancho NEGATIVO (NEGRO) al chasis del vehículo
o al bloque motor alejado de la batería. No conecte el gancho al carburador, líneas de
combustible o cuerpos metálicos. Conecte a una pieza metálica de calibre grueso del
marco o del bloque motor.

En un vehículo con descarga a tierra por borne positivo, conecte el gancho NEGATIVO 6.7
(NEGRO) del Instant Power™ de batería al borne NEGATIVO (NEG, N, -) sin descarga
a tierra de la batería. Conecte el gancho POSITIVO (ROJO) al chasis del vehículo o
al bloque motor alejado de la batería. No conecte al carburador, líneas de combustible
o cuerpos metálicos. Conecte a una pieza metálica de calibre grueso del marco o del
bloque motor.

Al desconectar el Instant Power™, apague todos los interruptores (si es aplicable), retire 6.8
el gancho del chasis del vehículo y luego retire el gancho del terminal perteneciente a la

Ne jamais fumer jamais ou produire une étincelle ou amme au alentour d’une batterie 2.2

ou d’un moteur.
Enlevez vos objets personnels en métal comme les bagues, les bracelets, les colliers 2.3

et les montres quand vous travaillez avec une batterie d’accumulateurs au plomb. Une
batterie d’accumulateurs au plomb peut produire un court-circuit thermique assez fort
pour souder une bague ou autre chose du même genre au métal, causant de graves
brûlures.

Soyez extra prudent pour réduire le risque de laisser tomber un outil en métal sur la 2.4
batterie. Ça pourrait faire une étincelle ou produire un court-circuit à la batterie ou à
d’autres parties électriques et pourrait produire une explosion.

Veillez à ce que la batterie interne ne gèle pas. Ne tentez jamais de recharger une 2.5

Lorsque vous rechargez la batterie interne, travailler dans un endroit bien aéré et ne 3.1
restreignent pas la ventilation en aucune manière.

Nettoyer les bornes de la batterie avant d’utilisée l’unité. Lors du nettoyage, ne laissez 3.2
pas les particules de corrosion entrer en contact avec vos yeux, votre nez et votre
bouche. Utilisez du bicarbonate de sodium et de l’eau pour neutraliser l’électrolyte de
batterie et aider à éliminer les particules de corrosion dans l’air. Ne vous touchez pas les
yeux, le nez ou la bouche.

Ajoutez de l’eau distillée dans chaque élément de batterie jusqu’à que le niveau d’acide 3.3

atteigne celui spécié par le fabricant de la batterie. Ne pas faire déborder. Pour une

batterie dont les éléments n’ont pas de bouchons, comme les « VRLA » (accumulateur
au plomb – acide à régulation par soupape) suivez attentivement les directives du
fabricant.

Lisez, comprenez et suivez toutes les directives pour le Instant Power™, la batterie, 3.4

Fixez les câbles de sortie à la batterie et le châssis, comme indiqué ci-dessous. Ne 6.1
jamais laisser les pinces de sortie de toucher l’autre.

Positionnez les câbles CC pour qu’ils ne risquent aucun dommage par le capot, la porte 6.2
ou toute autre partie du moteur chaude ou en mouvement. NOTE : s’il est nécessaire de
fermer le capot pendant le processus démarrant, être sûrs que le capot ne touche pas la
partie en métal des clips de batterie ou coupe l’isolation des câbles.

Tenez-vous à l’écart des pales de ventilateur, des courroies, des poulies et autres 6.3
pièces qui peuvent causer des blessures.

Vériez la polarité des bornes de la batterie. La borne POSITIVE (POS, P, +) de la 6.4

batterie a généralement un plus grand diamètre que la borne NÉGATIVE (NEG, N, -).
Déterminez quelle borne de la batterie est mise à la masse (connectée au chassis). Si 6.5

la borne négative est connectée au chassis (dans la plupart des véhicules), voir l’étape

6.5. Si la borne positive est connectée au chassis, voir l’étape 6.6.
Pour les véhicules mis à la masse négative, connectez la pince POSITIVE (ROUGE) 6.6

du Instant Power™ de batterie à la borne de la batterie POSITIVE (POS, P, +), non
mise à la masse. Connectez la pince NÉGATIVE (NOIRE) au chassis du véhicule ou
au bloc moteur à l’écart de la batterie. Ne pas connecter la pince au carburateur, à la
canalisation d’essence ou à des pièces de carrosserie en tôle. Connectez à une grosse
pièce de métal de la carrosserie ou du bloc moteur.

Pour les véhicules mis à la masse positive, connectez la pince NÉGATIVE (NOIRE) 6.7
du Instant Power™ de batterie à la borne de la batterie NÉGATIVE (NEG, N, -), non
mise à la masse. Connectez la pince POSITIVE (ROUGE) au chassis du véhicule ou
au bloc moteur à l’écart de la batterie. Ne pas connecter la pince au carburateur, à la
canalisation d’essence ou à des pièces en tôle. Connectez à une grosse pièce de métal
de la carrosserie ou du bloc moteur.

Lorsque vous déconnectez le Instant Power™, positionnez tous les sélecteurs sur « off 6.8
» (si valable), enlevez la pince du chassis du véhicule, puis enlevez la pince de la borne
de la batterie.

La prise de terre doit être branchée dans une prise qui est correctement installée et

POUR VÉRIFIER LE STATUT DE CHARGE DE LA BATTERIE INTERNE, APPUYEZ

SUR LE BOUTON L’ÉTAT DE LA BATTERIE SITUÉ SUR LE DEVANT DE
L’APPAREIL MODÈLE INSTANT POWER™.

Les voyants vont indiquer ce qui suit :

Le voyant rouge indique que la charge de la batterie interne est de 50 % ou moins ; •
vous devez alors recharger immédiatement l’appareil.

Le voyant jaune indique que la charge de la batterie interne se situe entre 50 et 75 •
%. On peut utiliser l’appareil modèle Instant Power™, mais il faudra le recharger dès
que possible.

Le voyant vert indique que la batterie interne est entièrement chargée.•
Le voyant EN COURS DE CHARGE (rouge) indique que l’Instant Power™ charge •

(raccordé à une source CA de courant alternatif). Quand la charge complète, le
voyant CHARGÉE (vert) s’allume.

NOTE: Pour cent interne charge de la batterie est plus précis lorsque l’Instant Power ™
a été déconnecté de tous les périphériques et charger les sources de quelques heures.

Charge de la batterie interne à l’aide du chargeur intégré9.2

Pour charger, brancher un 18 calibre (AWG) ou la plus grande corde d’extension 1.
dans le chargeur se connecte sur le arrière de l’Instant Power ™ Immédiat. (La
corde d’extension non incluse; doit être acheté séparément.)

Branchez la rallonge dans une prise électrique de 120 V CA.2.
Le voyant EN COURS DE CHARGE (rouge) est allumé durant la charge.3.
Le voyant CHARGÉE (vert) s’allume lorsque la batterie est complètement chargée. 4.

Dans certains cas, la charge durera jusqu’à 72 heures, selon l’âge et l’état de la
batterie. Le chargeur entrera automatiquement au mode de maintient et maintient la
batterie charger sans la surcharger.

(prise allume-cigare). Déconnectez entièrement le câble du chargeur quand le moteur
du véhicule n’est pas en marche.

Démarrer le moteur. S’il ne part pas dans les 5-8 secondes, arrêter d’essayer de 3.

Une fois le moteur démarré, débrancher la pince noire (-) puis la rouge (+) ; dans cet 4.

Alimenter un appareil 12 V CC10.2

L’Instant Power™ est une source d’alimentation pour tous les accessoires en 12 V
CC équipés d’une prise accessoire en 12 V. L’utiliser lors de coupures de courant ou
au camping ou à la pêche. La durée d’utilisation estimée se trouve dans le tableau ci­dessous.

S’assurer que le dispositif soit étient avant de brancher la prise de l’accessoire 12 V CC
dans l’autre.

S’assurer que les pinces de la batterie soient bien posées sur les supports de 1.
stockage.

Ouvrir le couvercle de protection de la prise d’alimentation CC sur le arrière de 2.
l’.Instant Power™.

Brancher l’appareil en 12 V CC dans la prise d’alimentation CC et mettre l’appareil 3.

Si l’appareil 12 V CC consomme plus de 15A ou est en court-circuit, le disjoncteur 4.
interne de l’Instant Power™ se déclenchera et déconnectera l’alimentation de
l’appareil. Dans ce cas, débrancher l’appareil 12 V CC en question et appuyer
sur le bouton Reset se trouvant à l’arrière de l’Instant Power™ pour réinitialiser le
disjoncteur.

La prise d’alimentation CC est reliée directement à la batterie interne. Si l’on se sert
longuement de l’appareil en 12 V CC, trop d’énergie peut être tirée de la batterie.
Recharger immédiatement après avoir débranché l’appareil en 12 V CC.

compresseur. Éviter tout excès de gonage, ne pas dépasser les pressions

recommandées du fabricant. Ne pas laisser le compresseur à portée de
n’importe qui lors de l’utilisation.

S’assurer que les pinces de la batterie soient bien posées sur les supports de 1.
stockage.

Enlever le exible du compresseur du compartiment de stockage à l’arrière de 2.

l’Instant Power™. Installer des adaptateurs au besoin.

Attacher le exible du compresseur au produit ou à l’accessoire devant être goner 3.

Après avoir utilisé le Instant Power™ et avant une opération d’entretien, débranchez et 11.1
déconnectez le Instant Power™ (voir les sections 3 et 4).

Utilisez un chiffon sec pour nettoyer toute corrosion de la batterie ainsi que la saleté ou 11.2
l’huile sur les broches, les câbles et le boîtier du Instant Power™.

Garantissez que toutes les composantes de Instant Power™ sont dans l’endroit et dans 11.3
la bonne condition de travail, en incluant les bottes de plastique sur les clips de batterie.

L’entretien courant ne nécessite pas l’ouverture de l’appareil, car il ne contient aucune 11.4
pièce que l’utilisateur puisse entretenir.

INSTRUCTIONS DE TRANSPORT ET STOCKAGE12.

de rangement et l’interrupteur d’aide-démarrage fermé (ÊTRE) lorsque vous ne vous
servez pas de l’aide-démarrage.

Si le Instant Power™ est placé dans la boutique ou transportés vers un autre 12.4
emplacement, prendre soin d’éviter ou de prévenir des dommages aux câbles, pinces et
le Instant Power™. Ne pas le faire pourrait entraîner des blessures ou des dommages
matériels.

Chargez la batterie interne Instant Power™ immédiatement après l’achat, après chaque

La température a un effet sur toutes les batteries. La température idéale de rangement
est de 21 °C. La batterie interne se déchargera (perdra de la puissance) graduellement
avec le temps, particulièrement si elle est soumise à la chaleur. Le fait de laisser la
batterie déchargée peut l’endommager de façon permanente. Pour s’assurer que la
batterie fournira un rendement satisfaisant et éviter tout dommage permanent, chargez
la batterie interne chaque mois.
