CHARACTERISTICS
• Seam tracking for all common joints
• applicable on reflective materials as stainless steel and
aluminium
• insensitive to electrical fields and ambient light

DESCRIPTION OF FUNCTION
This new non contact optical sensor scans the joint between the
joining partners by means of triangulation. It determines the welding
position and as well geometrical data like area, gap, mismatch or
various angles. These information are transferred to the machine
interface and may be used for seam tracking and adaptive control of
the welding process.
The rugged sensor head was designed for harsh welding
environment and is resistant against spatters and smoke. Powerful
signal processing ensures proper operation even
on adverse and reflective surfaces.
