(excluding 2003-2004 Z06 models)

1. Turn off engine and disconnect negative battery
terminal.

3 #64 Hose Clamp

4. Carefully pull up on the clamp assembly for
the MAF electrical connector and move it to
the side.

TOOLS REQUIRED

Drill & 1/8” drill bit

Scriber or pencil

Flat head screwdriver

7. Loosen the hose clamp and remove the
MAF Sensor from the OE air box.

2. Disconnect the electrical connection at the
MAF Sensor

3. Loosen the hose clamps at the throttle
body and just before the MAF sensor and
remove the OE intake tube.

5. Disconnect the CCV hose from the OE air
box.

6. Carefully pull up and remove the OE air
box assembly.

8. Assemble the S&B intake tube and the
MAF Sensor as shown below.

9. Pull up and remove the pins that secure the
OE air box to the vehicle.

10. Push the OE CCV hose end into the appropriate hole in
the S&B performance filter.

11. Attach the S&B filter to the MAF Sensor. Place the S&B
filter shield over the air filter and hose clamp them to­gether.

12. Place the assembly into the vehicle. Using the 2 “L” brack­ets mark the filter shield and OE plastic cover as shown,
with a scribe. You will use an “L” bracket on each side of
the shield. Remove and drill the marked holes with a 1/8
drill

13. Place the assembly back into the vehicle and secure the
hose clamps. Line up the 1/8” inch holes and “L” brackets
and use the four #10 sheet metal screws to secure the
assembly to the vehicle.

PERFORMANCE TESTING

∗ Engage parking brake and start your engine. To

ensure that the system was installed properly,
listen for abnormal noises. If an air leak is de­tected, re-inspect hoses and connections as
they may need to be tightened.

∗ S&B FILTERS RECOMMENDS THAT YOU

KEEP YOUR OEM INTAKE SYSTEM IN THE
EVENT IT IS REQURIED IN THE FUTURE.

∗ In order to maintain proper warranty, all connec-

tions and components must be checked periodi­cally for realignment and to tighten all connec­tions. Failure to do so will void your warranty.

∗ Use only S&B cleaning and oil products to ser-

vice your filter. Using other company’s oil and
cleaner products may void your warranty.

Smog Certification Note:

The California Air Resource Board
(CARB) requires that an E.O.
identification label be applied to the
vehicle in order to pass a smog
check inspection when a High
Performance Intake Kit has been
installed.

You must place the E.O. label
provided on or near the intake kit
after installation so that a smog
check technician can easily verify
the E.O. number.

14. Reconnect the electrical connection for the MAF Sensor

and then reconnect the negative battery cable.

15. Affix the C.A.R.B. exemption sticker in plain sight under the

hood near the intake system, the installation is now complete.
