Having correctly identified the wiring from your existing light fitting, pull the wire through the hole and connect to the
connection block inside the product in the following way:

• You have correctly identified the wires.
• The connections are tight.
• No loose strands have been left out of the connection
block.
• When completed, ensure that there are no bare or
loose strands of wire exposed, and cover all exposed
areas of the connection block with 2 layers of
insulation tape.
Care and Safety
• We recommend cleaning with a soft dry cloth. Do not use solvents or abrasive cleaners as these could
damage the finish.
• For your safety, always switch off the supply before cleaning.

commencing any work.
This unit must be fitted by a competent and
qualified electrician.
Install in accordance with IEE Wiring regulations
and current Building Regulations.
Check the pack and make sure you have all of the
parts listed.
To prevent electrocution switch off at mains supply
before installing or maintaining this fitting.
Ensure other persons cannot restore the electrical
supply without your knowledge.
This light fitting should be connected to a fused
circuit.
If replacing an existing fitting, make a careful note of
the connections.
Cables must be protected using suitable conduit or
plastic trunking.
Choose a suitable location for installing the product,
away from trees, hot ventilator ducts, street lighting
and traffic, which may interfere with its operation.
Take care not to drill into any pipes or mains
cables beneath the surface during mounting
holes preparation.
Never put anything on the product or hang anything
on any part of this product
The product must be securely fixed to the mounting
surface using the screws and wall plugs supplied.
The screws and wall plugs supplied are suitable for
“masonry” only. Other fixings not supplied and
must be purchased.
Care must be taken when fitting or handling to
prevent personal injury or damage to the product.
If mounting, note the position of the "This Way Up"
label on the back of the product and ensure it is
correctly oriented.
Installation
Existing fittings must be completely removed before installation of a new product. Before removing the
existing fitting, carefully note the position of each set of wires.

Note that the power needs to be isolated/switched off at the fuse board.

We recommend connecting this PIR product to an external / wall switch in order to deactivate the
motion detection function if necessary
•
Follow the diagram below to install the product.
•
This product is rated IP44 ((definition e.g. splash
proof / rain proof etc). It is suitable for use outdoors
but should not be immersed in water / sited in areas
likely to be heavily splashed, either from above or
below, or subjected to standing water.
At initial power-on activation, the lantern
will switch on and may remain on for up
to 2 minutes. Keep out of the way of the
activation zone and once the light goes off
make the setting adjustments.

Take great care when adjusting
the sensor screws not to
overtighten as they can be easily
broken.
• The unit must be installed in a vertical position, and fitted 1.8m-2.5m above the ground.
•
The PIR sensor can be adjusted, allowing the detection distance to be altered to suit the location. The
detection angle is set at 90 degrees. The duration that the lamp stays on can also be altered from
(10±5) seconds - (4±1) minutes.
• To Test the Lantern. Turn on the power. To test the PIR unit in daylight, turn both the timer dial (TIME)
and the Sensitivity dial (SENS) gently fully anti-clockwise with the blade of a small screw driver. Activate
the PIR by covering the PIR lens with your hand. The unit will light and should stay on for approximately
5-15 seconds then go off. It will remain off until the light level drops.
• To adjust Time On. By adjusting the TIME dial the unit will stay on (once activated) from 5 -15 seconds
(fully anti-clockwise) to 3 -5 minutes (Fully clockwise).
• To adjust sensitivity – detection distance. By adjusting the SENS dial the detection distance can be changed
– minimum detection is fully anticlockwise - or maximum detection distance is dial turned fully clockwise.
