Interconnect the Units
To interconnect the units, do the following:
1. Connect the Savant Extra Long Range Extender Over one CAT5/6 cable to the A/V
and Ethernet source devices such as infrastructure, routers and switches using short
HDMI and CAT5/6 cables.
2. Do the same operation between the Extender receiver and the extended HD display
and any network devices that are to be connected.
3. When the Extender Transmitter and Receiver units have been connected to sources,
displays and network equipment, connect a single CAT5/6 extension cable between
the Transmitter and Receiver. The Transmitter and Receiver units may be up to 330
feet apart.
Details for Connecting the Transmitter and Receiver
1. Connect an HDMI source to the Transmitter unit. Also connect an Ethernet source to
the Transmitter unit.
2. Connect the Receiver unit to a suitable display using an HDMI cable. Connect a
CAT5/6 cable to the Display.
3. Connect the Transmitter unit to the Receiver unit using the CAT5/6 Ethernet cable.
4. Apply power to all connected units. Plug the AC power adaptors between the power
strip and the 5V DC input connectors on the Transmitter and Receiver.
Important: Savant recommends the use of a CAT6 solid core cable for optimum
performance. Also, a single continuous run from the transmitter to the receiver is
recommended. Use of patch panels or wall plates may interfere with the signal.
