Intended Use
The PMA7500.. or PMA 35.... Series
EX-approved scales from Sartorius meet all requirements for fast and reliable paint mixing. The scale housing is solvent-resistant.
The weighing capacity of the single-range scales, models PMA7500-X and PMA7500-X.., is 7,500 g. The capacity of the dual-range scales, models PMA7500D-X and PMA7500D-X.., is 7,500 g and 1,000 g, respectively. Models 35D-X and 35 D-X000C have a 35-kg weighing capactiy.
The built-in formulation program lets you calculate different batch sizes and measure out any amount as you would a standard batch. The models that are equipped with the recalculation program can quickly recalculate batch amounts to correct the filling procedure if a component is overpoured or underpoured; this saves you having to make time-consuming calculations. All models come with a program for mass unit conversion (toggling between weight units), as well as a serial data interface and overload protection.
The PMA scales are ideal for use as inspection, measuring and test equipment in quality management systems.
Built-in application programs can be used for:

The manufacturer shall not be held liable for damage caused by failure to observe this warning and safety information or the instructions.
When you use electrical equipment in installations and under ambient conditions requiring higher safety standards, you must comply with the provisions specified in the applicable regulations for installation in your country.
Before you operate your scale in a hazardous area/location, the scale must be inspected either by a certified electrician or under the guidance and supervision of a certified electrician to make sure that the scale complies with the applicable regulations (in Germany, in accordance with Section 12 of the ElexV). Determine whether your scale must be reported to the technical inspection authorities (e.g., trade board) in your country. The system must also be inspected during operation. The system should be inspected at intervals which allow for early detection of the faults which occur as a result of normal wear and tear, so that they can be corrected before damage is caused. In any case, inspection must be performed at least every three years.
All AC adapters or power supplies may only be connected to an electrical outlet (mains supply) (48 – 62 Hz) with at least for 184 V and no more than 264 V.
Model 609308-011 and 609308-211 AC adapters (power supplies) are associated electrical apparatus with the approval marking [EEx ib] IIC and II (2) G, and are suitable for installation only outside a hazardous area (EC-Type Examination Certificate KEMA 98ATEX2752 X).

Follow the instructions below to ensure safe and trouble-free operation of your scale:
! Make sure that the voltage rating printed on the AC adapter or power
supply is identical to your local AC power rating
! The only way to turn the scale power off completely is to disconnect the
AC adapter or power supply from the scale. Only disconnect the power cable from the scale after the AC adapter or power supply has been disconnected from the wall outlet (mains supply).
! Protect the AC adapter or power supply as required by the IP65 standard
(dust-tight and washdown-resistant)
! The casing on the power cable of the AC adapter or power supply
is made of – rubber (on model 609308-01) – PVC (on model 609308-21). All other cables connecting the weighing equipment and peripheral devices, as well as the wiring inside the devices, are cased in PVC materials. Chemicals that corrode these materials must be kept away from these cables.
! Use only cabling and extensions approved by Sartorius, as these are made
in accordance with the restrictions on cable lengths imposed by the capacitance and inductivity values (see the attached certificate of conformity) and the requirements for electromagnetic compatibility.
! PMA Series equipment may only be operated in an ambient temperature

Conditioning the Scale
Moisture in the air can condense on the surfaces of a cold scale whenever it is brought into a substantially warmer place. If you transfer the scale to a warmer area, make sure to condition it for about 2 hours at room temperature, leaving it unplugged from AC power. Afterwards, if you keep the scale connected to AC power, the continuous positive difference in temperature between the inside of the scale and the outside will practically rule out the effects of moisture condensation.
Seal on Scales Verified for Use in Legal Metrology in the EU*:
EU legislation requires that a control seal be affixed to the verified scale. The control seal consists of a sticker with the “Sartorius” logo. This seal will be irreparably damaged if you attempt to remove it. If the seal is broken, the validity of verification will become void and you must have your scale re-verified.
