proximity to a heater or otherwise exposing
the balance/scale to heat or direct sunlight

Conditioning the Balance/Scale:
Moisture in the air can condense on the
surfaces of a cold balance/scale whenever it
is brought into a substantially warmer place.
If you transfer the balance/scale to a
warmer area, make sure to condition it for
about 2 hours at room temperature, leaving
it unplugged from AC power.
Seal on Balances/Scales Verified for Use in
Legal Metrology in the EU*:
EU legislation requires that a control seal
be affixed to verified balances/scales of
accuracy class K. The control seal consists
of a sticker with the “Sartorius" logo.
This seal will be irreparably damaged if you
attempt to remove it. If the seal is broken,
the validity of verification will become
void and you must have your balance/scale
re-verified.

on the European Economic Area
