This manual contains important instructions for Power Distribution Box that should be followed during
installation, operation and maintenance of the Power Distribution Box to protect the safety of the customer and
the service technician*. To use the Power Distribution Box correctly and safely, read this manual before using
the product. For details on UPS instal lati on a nd operation, see the A11J instructio n m anu al. Once you have read
this manual, keep the manual with the UPS instruction manual in an easy-to-access location for future
reference.

This term is used to indicate service technicians from SANYO DENKI or entrusted from SANYO DENKI
with knowledge of this UPS.
Maintenance work must not be performed by other than a qualified service technician.
This is Power Distribution Box for 10 kVA type of A11J Series UPS.

(1) Connect the output power of the UPS to the input of Power Distribution Box as AC input power source.
(2) Never short-circuit the output circuits.
Doing so will cause the protective functions of the Power Distributi on Box to activate or the UPS stops, preventing

This warranty is applied only when this product is purchased through official sal es representative entrusted from SANYO
DENKI.
1. In the above area, this produc t is warranted f or t he spec if i ed period f rom t he dat e of produc t purchase against el ect ric al
failures due to materials or workmanship.
2. Free repair or replacement by a product with equival ent functions will be made when it is determined that failure has
occurred because of defects in materials or workmanship.
3. This warranty is void in the event of any modifications or changes to the product supplied by SANYO DENKI.
4. This warranty is void in the event of any improper use of the product supplied by SANYO DENKI, or fail ure to use the
product as specified in this instruction manual.
5. This warranty does not apply when the product is used aboard a ship or in another area subject to vibrations.
6. This warranty is void in the event that the product supplied by SANYO DENKI is inappropriately installed or introduced.
7. This warranty does not apply to failures due to accidents, improper use, or use for other than the product's int ended use.
8. This warranty does not apply to defects or damages arising from fire, earthquake, storm or flood disaster, lightning or
other natural disasters includi ng pollution, salt disast er, gas dis aster (sulfide gas), non-standard voltage or incorrect
power sources other than those specified.
9. This warranty does not apply to defects or damages arising from mishandling, such as dropping, impact, or the like
during transportation or relocation by the cust om er.
10. This warranty applies to the product specified by SANYO DENKI. It does not apply to any other device.
11. SANYO DENKI disclaims all responsibility for damage to load device software, loss of data, lost profits, and lost
opportunities.
12. This warranty does not apply to defects or damages arising from devices made by other manufacturers connected to this
product.
Installation should be performed only by service technicians.
Installation of the Power Distribution Box must be carried out following the
instructions in this instruction manual.
Improper installation may result i n an electric shock, bodily injury, and/or a fire.

Install the Power Distribution Box on the rear of the UPS. This work must be step out following the instructions in this instruction
manual.

Check that the UPS is stopped.
See “Shutting Down the UPS” in the UPS instruction manual to shut down the UPS.
For safety, shut off the input power source of the equipment of user.

Prepare four screws supplied with this product.
③
Remove the screws (4 places) on the rear of UPS Unit 1 specified in the figure below.
The Power Distribution Box is installed using these fixing holes. The removed screws are not used.

Install the Power Distribution Box on the rear of the UPS Unit 1 using the four screws prepared in step ②.
Refer to the figure for installation.

Check the Power Distribution Box is fastened securely to the UPS.

Wiring should be performed only by service technicians.
The Power Distribution Box wiring must be carried out foll owing the instructions
in this instruction manual. Incorrect wiring may result in electric shock and/or fire.
Make sure that connection of input cable is not loose.
Failure to do so may result in electric shock, injury, and/or a fire.
Be sure to ground the Power Distribution Box. Failure to do so may result in an electric shock.
Do not install in a location where it cannot be grounded.

Check that the UPS is stopped.

Check that all MCCB * of the Power Distribution Box are “OFF.”
③
Prepare one screw supplied with this product, and then remove the protective cover for the end of input cable.
④
Connect the ground wire (G) of the input cable to the earth bar (center) on the rear of UPS units.
Use the screw prepared in step

Connect the input cable (L) to the “OUTPUT L” terminal of Input/Output terminal block on the rear of UPS unit 2.

Connect the input cable (N) to the “OUTPUT N” terminal of Input/Output terminal block on the rear of UPS unit 2.

Check that the screws for all terminal are tightly fastened.

When disconnecting wires, disconnect the ground last.

Connect the load devices to the output outlets on the Power Distribution Box.

Set the output outlet breakers MCCB 1 , MCCB 2 , and MCCB 3 corresponding to the output outlets that connect
the load devices to “ON.”
Be sure that the total capacity of the load devices connected to the output outlets do not exceed the
output capacity of the UPS.
See "Specifications" described in the UPS instruction manual to check the output capacity of the UPS.
Notes on using output outlets
Set MCCB * (1 to 3) corresponding to the output outlets to which you connected the load devices to “ON.”
If this operation is not performed, output will not be supplied from the output outlets.

connected the load devices to “ON.”
Since such devices are subject to high transient current surges,
the UPS will detect current surges and the battery backup
operation will no longer be possible when a power outage
occurs. There is also the danger of the UPS malfunctioning.
Special considerations need to be given to operation,
maintenance, and management, such as system redundancy
and the installation of emergency power generation facilities.
