MODEM SPEED
Select a baud rate of 14.4 K, 12.0 K, 9600, 7200, 4800, or 2400 bps. The lower the baud rate, the larger the acceptable error rate. T30 protocol has a fixed speed of 300 bps in protocol mode. When the TX speed is set to 9600 or 7200 bps, the RX speed will be either V.29 or V.27 ter. When the TX speed is set to 4800 or 2400 bps, the RX speed will be V.27 ter.
FAX TX LEVEL
The FCC requires that transmission level be less than -9 dBm. From -9 dBm to -15 dBm is acceptable. You can set the transmission level to between 0 and
-15 dBm in 1dBm steps using the control panel keypad. Accuracy is +0 /-3 dBm.

SILENCE LEVEL
In TAD mode, after a call has been picked up by the answering machine, any signal level below the silence level will be considered silent. You can set the silence level between -20 and -48 dBm.
Reception level may be too low due to cable losses. If set to -43 dBm, reception sensitivity will be between 0 and -43 dBm. If set to -48 dBm, reception sensitivity will be between 0 and -43 dBm.

SILENCE DETECTION TIME
¡¡¡
¡ª¡ª¡ª
Service Mode
In TAD mode, after a call picked up by the answering machine, the fax machine monitors the line. If a period of silence is detected on the line at any time, the call will be treated as a fax message and the fax mashine begins receiving. Silence detection time is selectable between limited (about 12 seconds) or unlimited time.
When ‘12 second’ is selected, the machine switches to receiving mode as soon as it detects a period of silence.
When ‘Unlimited’ is selected, the machine waits until the answering operation is concluded even though a period if silence is detected. After the answering operation is concluded, the machine switches to receiving mode.
SILENCE DROP OUT TIME
If any signal (tone, voice, fax tone, etc.) is detected during the silence drop-out time, prior accumulated silence time will be ignored, and silence detection time is restared. Choose silence drop out time from 100 through 5000 milliseconds.
