Before using your new Samsung Side-By-Side
Refrigerator, please read this manual thoroughly to
ensure that you know how to operate the features
and functions that your new appliance offers safely
and efficiently.
This appliance is not intended for use by persons
(including children) with reduced physical,
sensory, or mental capabilities, or those who lack
experience and knowledge, unless they have been
given supervision or instruction concerning the use
of the appliance by a person responsible for their
safety.
Because the following instructions cover various
models, the characteristics of your refrigerator may
differ slightly from the refrigerator described in this
manual.

only a 3-wire extension cord that has a 3-blade
grounding plug and a 3-slot receptacle that will
accept the plug on the appliance.
The marked rating of the extension cord should
be AC 115-120 V, 10 A, or more.
If a grounding adapter is used, make sure the
receptacle box is fully grounded.
• Plug the power plug into the wall socket firmly.
Do not use a damaged power plug, damaged
power cord, or loose wall socket.

• If the power cord is damaged,
have it replaced immediately by the

INSTALLATION CAUTIONS
• Allow sufficient space around the
refrigerator and install it on a flat
surface.
- Keep the ventilation space in the appliance
enclosure or mounting structure clear of
obstructions.
• Allow the appliance to stand for 2 hours before
loading foods after installation and turning on.
• We strongly recommend you have a qualified
technician or service company install the
refrigerator.
- Failing to do so may result in an electric shock,

- When installing the refrigerator, make sure both
legs contact the floor for secure installation.
Legs are located at the bottom back of each
door.
Insert a flathead screwdriver and turn it in the
direction of the arrow until it is level.
- Always balance the load on each door.
- Overload on any one door may fell the
refrigerator, causing physical injury.

not disassemble the Lamp Covers and LED
Lamps yourself.

the refrigerator and contact your Samsung
Electronics service center.

• Do not re-freeze frozen foods that have
thawed completely.
Do not place carbonated or fizzy drinks
in the freezer compartment.
Do not put bottles or glass containers
in the freezer.
- When the contents freeze, the glass may break
and cause personal injury.
• Use only the ice maker provided with the
refrigerator.
• Have the refrigerator’s water supply connected
only to a potable water supply.
To operate the ice maker properly, water
pressure of 20 ~ 125psi (138 ~ 862kPa) is
required.
If you will be away from home for a long period
of time (on vacation, for example) and won’t
be using the water or ice dispensers, close the
water valve.
- Otherwise, water leakage may occur.
• If you won’t be using the refrigerator for a very
long period of time, (3 weeks or more) empty
the refrigerator including ice bucket, unplug it,
close the water valve, wipe excess moisture
from the inside walls, and leave the doors open
to prevent odors and mold.
• Service Warranty and Modification.
• Any changes or modifications
performed by a 3rd party on this
finished appliance are not covered
under Samsung warranty service, nor is
Samsung responsible for safety issues
that result from 3rd party modifications.
• Do not block the air vents inside the refrigerator.
- If the air vents are blocked, especially with a
plastic bag, the refrigerator can be over cooled.
If this cooling period lasts too long, the water
filter may break and cause water leakage.
• If the refrigerator is disconnected from the
power supply, you should wait for at least five
minutes before plugging it back in.
• If you have a long vacation planned or do not
intend to use the refrigerator for a long period of
time, (3 weeks or more) empty the refrigerator
including ice bucket, pull out the power plug,
close the water valve, wipe excess moisture
from the inside walls, and leave the doors open
to prevent odors and mold.
• To get the best performance from the product:
- Do not place food too close to the vents at the
rear of the appliance as it can obstruct free air
circulation in the refrigerator compartment.
- Wrap food up properly or place it in airtight
containers before putting it into the refrigerator.
- Do not place glass bottles or carbonated
beverages into the freezer.
They can freeze and break.
Broken beverage containers can cause injury.
- Please observe maximum storage times and
expiration dates of frozen goods.
- There is no need to disconnect the refrigerator
from the power supply if you will be away for
less than three weeks.
However, if you will be away for more than three
weeks, remove all the food and ice in the ice
bucket, unplug the refrigerator, close the water
valve, wipe excess moisture from the inside
walls, and leave the doors open to prevent
odors and mold.
• Fill the water tank and ice cube trays with
potable water only (tap water, mineral water, or
purified water).
- Do not fill the tank with tea or a Sports drink.
This may damage the refrigerator.
• Do not strike or apply excessive force to any
glass surface.
- Broken glass may result in a personal injury
and/or property damage.
• If the product is flooded, make sure to
contact your nearest service center.
- There is a risk of electric shock or fire.
• Do not keep vegetable oil in your refrigerator’s
door bins. The oil can solidify, making it foultasting and difficult to use. In addition, the
open container can leak and the leaked oil can
cause the door bin to crack. After opening an
oil container, it is best to keep the container in
a cool and shaded place such as a cupboard
or pantry.
- Examples of vegetable oil: olive oil, corn oil,
grape-seed oil, etc.

- This may result in an electric shock or fire.
• Use a clean, dry cloth to remove any
foreign matter or dust from the power
plug blades.
Do not use a wet or damp cloth when
cleaning the plug.
- Otherwise, there is a risk of fire or electric
shock.
• Before cleaning or performing
maintenance, unplug the appliance
from the wall socket.
- Failing to do so may result in an electric shock
or fire.
• Use a clean sponge or soft cloth and a
mild detergent in warm water to clean the
refrigerator.
• Do not use abrasive or harsh cleansers
such as window sprays, scouring cleansers,
flammable fluids, muriatic acid, cleaning
waxes, concentrated detergents, bleaches, or
cleansers containing petroleum products on
exterior surfaces (doors and cabinet), plastic
parts, door and interior liners, and gaskets.
- These can scratch or damage the material.
• Do not clean glass shelves or covers with
warm water when they are cold. Glass shelves
and covers may break if exposed to sudden
temperature changes or impacts such as
bumping or dropping.
CRITICAL DISPOSAL WARNINGS
• DANGER : Risk of child entrapment.
Before you throw away your old
refrigerator or freezer:
- Take off the doors and door latch.
- Leave the shelves in place so that children
cannot easily climb inside.
- Children trapped inside a refrigerator can hurt
themselves or suffocate to death.
• Please dispose of the packaging material from
this product in an environmentally friendly
manner.
• Ensure that none of the pipes on the back of
the appliance are damaged prior to disposal.
• R-600a or R-134a is used as a refrigerant.
Check the compressor label on the rear of
the appliance or the rating label inside the
fridge to see which refrigerant is used for your
refrigerator.
If this product contains flammable gas
(Refrigerant R-600a), contact your local
authority in regard to safe disposal of this
product.
• When disposing of this refrigerator, remove the
door/door seals and door latch so that small
children or animals cannot become trapped
inside.
Children should be supervised to ensure that
they do not play with the appliance.
If trapped inside, the child may get hurt or
suffocate to death.
• Cyclopentane is used in the insulation.
The gases in the insulation material require a
special disposal procedure.
Please contact your local authorities in regard
to the environmentally safe disposal of this
product.
• Keep all packaging materials well out of the
reach of children, as packaging materials can
be dangerous to children.
- If a child places a bag over his or her head, the
child could suffocate.

ADDITIONAL TIPS FOR
PROPER USAGE
• In the event of a power failure, call the local
office of your Electricity Company and ask how
long it is going to last.
- Most power failures that are corrected in an
hour or two will not affect your refrigerator
temperatures. However, you should minimize
the number of door openings while the power
is off.
- Should the power failure last more than 24
hours, remove and discard all frozen food.
• The appliance might not operate consistently
(frozen contents can thaw or temperatures
can become too warm in the frozen food
compartment) when sited for an extended
period of time in a location where ambient
air temperatures are constantly below the
temperatures for which the appliance is
designed.
• In case of particular foods, keeping it under
refrigeration can have a bad effect on
preservation due to its properties.
• Your appliance is frost free, which means there
is no need to manually defrost your appliance.
This will be carried out automatically.
• Temperature rise during defrosting complies
with ISO requirements.
But If you want to prevent an undue rise in the
temperature of frozen food while the appliance
defrosts, wrap the frozen food in several layers
of newspaper.
• Do not re-freeze frozen foods that have thawed
completely.
Saving Energy Tips
- Install the appliance in a cool, dry room with
adequate ventilation.
Ensure that it is not exposed to direct sunlight
and never put it near a direct source of heat (a
radiator, for example).
- Not to block any vents and grilles is
recommended for energy efficiency.
- Allow warm food to cool down before placing it
in the appliance.
- Put frozen food in the refrigerator to thaw.
You can then use the low temperatures of the
frozen products to cool food in the refrigerator.
- Do not keep the door of the appliance open for
too long when putting food in or taking food
out.
The shorter the time the door is open, the less
frost build-up you’ll have in the freezer.
- It is recommended to install the refrigerator with
clearance to the back and sides.
This will help reduce power consumption and
keep your energy bills lower.

THE REFRIGERATOR
Congratulations on the purchase of your Samsung
Side-By-Side Refrigerator.
We hope you will enjoy the many state-of-the-art
features and efficiencies that this new appliance
has to offer.
Selecting the best location for the refrigerator
• Select a location with easy access to a water
supply.
• Select a location without direct exposure to
sunlight.
• Select a location with level (or nearly level) flooring.
• Select a location with enough space for the
refrigerator doors to open easily.
• Select a location that allows sufficient space to
the right,left, back, and top for air circulation.
• Select a location that allows you to move the
refrigerator easily if it needs maintenance or
service.
• Do not install the refrigerator in locations where
the temperature is over 110°F (43°C) or below
50°F (10°C ).

When moving your refrigerator
To prevent floor damage, be sure the front levelling
legs are in the up position (above the floor).
Refer to ‘Levelling the refrigerator’ in this manual
(page 16).

Flooring
For proper installation, you must place this
refrigerator on a level, hard surface that is the
same height as the rest of the floor.
This surface should be strong enough to support a
fully loaded refrigerator.
To protect the finish of the flooring, cut a large
section of the cardboard carton and place it under
the refrigerator where you are working.
When moving the refrigerator, you need to pull and
push it straight forwards or back.
Do not wiggle it from side to side.

REMOVING THE REFRIGERATOR
DOORS
If your entrance won’t allow the refrigerator to pass
easily through it, you can remove the doors.
To remove the doors, follow the steps below.
If you do not need to remove the doors, go to
“Leveling the Refrigerator” on page 16.
1. SEPARATE THE WATER SUPPLY LINES
FROM THE FRIDGE
1. Pull the two water lines (which are in the Fixer)
out to the front.

and the other for ice) by pressing the coupler
(1) and pulling the water line (2) away.

the rear, the door can be opened and closed more
easily.
Setting up the refrigerator on an uneven surface

leveler located at the bottom back of the freezer
door and turn it in the direction of the arrow
until it is level.
If the refrigerator side is lower:
• Insert a flathead screwdriver into the height

refrigerator door and turn in the direction of the

• Raise the front of the refrigerator so that
the doors close by themselves.
Adjusting the levelers so that the back
of the refrigerator is much higher than
the front of the refrigerator can make it
difficult to open the doors.
• If the back of the refrigerator is not level, put an
appropriately sized thin piece of wood or tile
where the refrigerator leg you want to raise will
be set, and then secure it in place using tape.
Slide the refrigerator into its spot, with the back
leg you want to raise on the tile or wood.
Then, adjust the level of the front legs.
• When pushing the refrigerator in, be careful not
to damage the floor.
HOW TO ADJUST THE DOOR
HEIGHT
If one door is lower than the other:
• The refrigerator door height can be adjusted
using the adjustment nuts located at the
bottom of each door.
• Raising the door too high can cause the door to
interfere with the hinge cover when it is opened

2. Once the gap between the door and the

nut clockwise ( ) to lock the adjustor in
place.

When arranging the cables, take caution not to

INSTALLING THE WATER
DISPENSER LINE
A water dispenser is one of the helpful features on
your new Samsung Refrigerator.
To help promote better health, the Samsung water
filter removes unwanted particles from your water.
However, it does not sterilize or destroy
microorganisms.
You may need to purchase a water purifying
system to do that.
The water line also connects to the ice maker.
For the ice maker to operate properly, water
pressure of 20 ~ 125psi (138 ~ 862kPa) is
required.
If the refrigerator is installed in an area with low
water pressure (below 20psi), you can install a
booster pump to compensate for the low pressure.
After you have connected the water line, make
sure the water storage tank inside the refrigerator
is properly filled.
To do this, press the water dispenser lever until
water runs from the water dispenser.
Water line installation kits are available at
extra cost from your dealer.
We recommend using a water supply kit
that contains copper tubing.
The Samsung refrigerator warranty does
not cover water line installation.
We strongly recommend you have a
plumber or authorized installer install the
water line.
Connecting to the water supply line
1. First, shut off the main water supply line and
turn the ice-maker off.
The refrigerator should NOT be plugged in
at this point.
2. Locate the nearest cold water drinking water
line.
3. Install the pipe clamp and shut off valve.
4. Connect the water line installation kit to the

1. Connect the household water line to the
assembled compression fitting.
- If you are using copper tubing, slip the
compression nut (B) (not supplied) and
ferrule (not supplied) on the copper tubing (not

- If you are using plastic tubing (B), insert the
molded end (Bulb) of the plastic tubing (B) into
the compression fitting.
CAUTION
Do not use plastic tubing (B) without the molded
end (Bulb).
2. Tighten the compression nut (B) onto the
compression fitting.
Do not over-tighten the compression nut (B).
3. Turn the water on and check for any leaks
inside the refrigerator, around the water filter,
and in any connection areas.
If you find water drops or leaks, turn off the
main water supply.
If the leaks are in the connection areas, check
the connections and, if necessary, tighten.
If there are leaks in the refrigerator, check
the water filter and confirm it is in the locked
position.
Turn on the water supply and check for leaks
again.
4. Plug in the refrigerator.
5. Flush 1 gallons of water through the filter before
drinking or using the water from the refrigerator.
(Flush approximately 6 minutes.)
This will clean the water supply system and
remove air from the lines.
To flush, press the Water button, and then press
a large glass or cup against the water dispenser
lever. Fill the glass, empty it into the kitchen sink
after it is filled, and then repeat.
Additional flushing may be required in
some households.
6. Open the refrigerator door and make sure there
are no water leaks coming from the water filter.
• After you turn on the refrigerator, let the
ice maker make ice for 1 to 2 days.
Over that period of time, throw out the
first 1 or 2 buckets of ice the ice maker
makes to ensure all impurities have been
removed from the water line.
• Only connect the water line to a drinkable water
source.
• If you have to repair or disassemble the water
line, cut off 1/4“ of the plastic tubing to make
sure you get a snug, leak-free connection.
• You can test the water line quickly using a
paper cup.
Under normal conditions, the water dispenser
can fill a 5.75oz. (170cc) cup in about 10
seconds.

COMPLETING THE SET UP
Now that you have your new refrigerator installed
in place, you are ready to set up and enjoy the
features and functions of the appliance.
By completing the following steps, your refrigerator
should be fully operational.
1. Make sure your refrigerator is in an appropriate
location with reasonable clearance between it
and the wall. Refer to installation instructions in
this manual.
2. Once the refrigerator is plugged in, make sure
the interior light comes on when you open the
doors.
3. Set the Temperature control to the coldest
temperature and wait for an hour.
The freezer will get slightly chilled and the motor
will run smoothly.
Reset the refrigerator and freezer to the
temperatures you want.
4. After you plug the refrigerator in, it will
take a few hours to reach the appropriate
temperature.
You can store food and drinks in the refrigerator
after the temperature is sufficiently cool.
5. Once installation is complete, press the
dispenser lever to check if the water or the ice
is properly dispensed.
6. Make sure the front side of the refrigerator is
0.6 degree higher than its rear side.

If condensation or water drops appear
on both sides of the fridge door’s central
part, turn the Energy Saver mode off after
removing the condensation.

The Freezer button serves two purposes:
- To set the Freezer to your desired
temperature.
- To turn the Power Freeze function on
and off.
1. To set the Freezer temperature, touch
the Freezer button.
You can set the temperature between
5°F (-15°C) and -8°F (-23°C).
2. Power Freeze function
Touch and hold this button for 3 seconds
to decrease the time needed to freeze
products in the Freezer.
It can be helpful if you need to quickly
freeze easily spoiled items or if the
temperature in the freezer has warmed
dramatically.
(For example, if the door was left open.)
When you use this function, the energy
consumption of the refrigerator will
increase.
Remember to turn it off when you don’t
need it and return the freezer to your
original temperature setting.
If you need to freeze a large amount of
food, activate the Power Freeze function at
least 20 hours before you put the food into
the freezer.

The Lighting button serves two purposes:

Touching the Lighting button turns on
the Dispenser LED lamp in continuous
mode so that it stays on continuously.
The button also lights up. If you want the
Dispenser lamp to come on only when
some one uses the dispenser, press the
Lighting button to turn the continuous
mode off.
2. Filter Reset (3sec) Function
After you replace the water filter, touch and
hold this button for 3 seconds to reset the
water filter life indicator.
When you reset the water filter life
indicator, the Filter icon on the panel turns
Off.
The Filter icon turns red to let you know it
is time to change the filter.
See page 25 for more information.

(3) Energy Saver / Override (3 sec)
Touching this button turns Energy Saver
mode on and off.
When you turn Energy Saver on, the
Energy Saver icon lights.
Turn Energy Saver off and the icon goes
off.
The Energy Saver function automatically
turns on when power is supplied to the
refrigerator.
If condensation or water drops appear on
the doors, turn the Energy Saver mode off.
Override: Press the Energy Saver /
Override (3 sec) button for 3 seconds to
turn on the Override function.
When the Override function is on, the
refrigerator ignores the SMART GRID
(Demand Response) signal.

Alarm / °C↔°F (3sec)
The Alarm button serves two purposes:
- To turn the door open alarm on and off
- To switch the temperature units
between ºC and ºF.
1. Door Alarm Function
If the door alarm is set to On, an alarm
beeps if a refrigerator door is left open for
more than two minutes.
The beeping stops when you close the
door. The door alarm function is pre-set to
On in the factory.
You can turn it off by pressing and then
releasing the Alarm button.
You can turn it back on in the same
fashion.
The icon lights up when the function is on.
When the Door Alarm function is on and
the alarm sound is triggered, the Door
Alarm Icon will blink while the alarm
sounds.

(4) Fridge / Power Cool (3sec)
The Fridge button serves two purposes:
- To set the Fridge to your desired
temperature.
- To turn the Power Cool function on
and off.
1. To set the Fridge temperature, press
the Fridge button.
You can set the temperature between
34°F (1°C ) and 44°F (7°C).
2. Power Cool function
Touch and hold this button for 3 seconds
to decrease the time needed to cool
products in the Refrigerator.
It can be helpful if you need to quickly cool
easily spoiled items or if the temperature in
the fridge has warmed dramatically.

The Ice Maker Off button serves two
purposes:
- To turn the Ice maker on and off
- To turn the Control Lock Function on
and off.
- Note that Ice Maker Off mode will be
deactivated if you press and hold the
ice lever for more than 5 seconds.
1. Ice Maker Off Function
If you don’t want to make more ice, press
the Ice Maker Off button.
2. Control Lock Function
Touch and hold this button for 3 seconds
to lock the display and the dispenser
buttons so the buttons cannot be used.
When Control Lock is on, the refrigerator
does not dispense ice or water, even if the
Dispenser Lever is pressed.
The Control Lock icon lights up to indicate
you’ve activated the Control Lock function.
Press 3 seconds to unlock.
If the ice maker function is ON, and the
water Line is not connected, there will be a
water valve noise from the back of the unit.
Press the Ice Maker Off (Control Lock
(3sec)) button for less than 3 seconds until
the Ice Off Indicator ( ) illuminates.
Display Off
To conserve energy, the Panel Display turns off
automatically under the following conditions: When
no button has been pressed, when no doors
are open, or when no Dispenser Lever has been
pushed for a period of time.
However, the icon indicating your cubed or
crushed ice selection, will stay on.
When you press a button, open a door, or push a
Dispenser Lever, the Panel Display turns on again.
Except for the Water, and Cubed / Crushed Ice
buttons, all function buttons become operational
after you remove your finger from the button you
are currently pressing.
(7) Control Lock Icon
If you press and hold the Ice Maker Off/
Control Lock Button ( ) for 3
seconds, this icon lights and the Control
Lock function is activated.
When the Control Lock icon is lit, all the
panel buttons, including the Ice button
and the dispensers, are locked and deactivated.
To turn off the Control Lock function, press
and hold the Ice Maker Off/Control Lock
Button ( ) for 3 seconds.
Water
The indicator is supposed to turn on at all
times as it indicates that the water can be
dispensed properly.

(10) Filter Icon
Water filter usage
This icon lights when you need to change
the filter, usually after the refrigerator has
dispensed about 300 gallons of water
(after about 6 months).
The icon will blink red for several seconds
when you open or close the door.
After you install the new water filter, reset
the filter indicator by touching and holding
the Hold 3sec for Filter Reset button for 3
seconds.
- If water is not dispensing or dispensing
slowly, you need to replace the water
filter because the water filter is clogged.
- Some areas have large amounts of lime
in their water, which causes the water
filter to clog more quickly.
If this is the case in your area, you will
need to change the water filter more
frequently than every six months.
E-Smart
The E-Smart icon lets you can check the status
of the refrigerator AP connection (network
connection).
• When connected to the AP : The E-Smart icon
is on.
• When not connected to the AP : The E-Smart
icon is off.
E-SMART Refrigerator Features
How to get the most out of your E-Smart
refrigerator.
Getting Connected
To use the Smart Grid (Demand Response) and
E-Smart function on your Refrigerator, you need
the following devices and apps:
OPERATING
Cooling Off Mode
Cooling Off mode (also called Shop mode),
is designed for use by retailers when they
are displaying refrigerators on the shop
floor.
In Cooling Off mode, the refrigerator’s
fan motor and lights work normally, but
the compressors do not run, and the
refrigerator and freezer do not get cold.
To start Cooling Off mode, touch and hold
the Freezer, Lighting and Fridge buttons
for 5seconds during normal operation.
The refrigerator chime sounds and the
temperature display flashes OFF.
To cancel Cooling Off mode, touch and
hold the Freezer, Lighting and Fridge
buttons again for 5seconds.
CAUTION
If your refrigerator appears to be working, but
it is not cooling, and the Freezer and Fridge
Temperature Indicators are moving, the Fridge is in
Cooling Off mode.
To cancel Cooling Off mode, follow the directions
above.
• Devices: 1) Wireless Router, 2) Samsung
E-Smart Refrigerator, 3) Smartphone
(Recommended: Galaxy S4,Galaxy Note3/
Android OS Jelly bean).
• Applications: 1) “Samsung E-Smart App” from
the Google Play Store or Samsung Apps.
In addition, you need to:
- Connect the Refrigerator and the Smartphone
to the same Wi-Fi network in your home.
- Install and run Samsung E-Smart App on your
Smartphone.
In addition, to use the Smart Grid (Demand
Response) function, you must register for the
service with your electric company.
The company must have an EMS (Energy
Management System) that supports SEP (Smart
Energy profile).

Downloading the E-Smart App and
Connecting the Refrigerator to your
Network
1. On your Smartphone, connect to the app store
(e.g. Google Play, etc.).
2. Search for the app using “Samsung E-Smart
Ref.” as the keyword.
3. Download the app and install it on your phone.
4. Launch the app.
The network configuration screen appears.
5. Configure the AP information (SSID, Password,
etc.) on the app screen.
6. Configure the network settings according to the
instructions in the app.
7. On the refrigerator, press and hold the Fridge
and Energy Saver buttons at the same time for
3 seconds.
The refrigerator enters the AP mode.
- Most wireless networks allow you to configure
network security settings.
If your network has a security password, you
must enter the password to connect to the
network.
• The refrigerator supports the following wireless
security modes and encryption types:
- Security Mode: WEP, WPAPSK, WPA2PSK
- Encryption Type: WEP, TKIP, AES
(WPA2PSK and AES are recommended.)
• The app supports indoor control only.
• The Samsung E-Smart Ref. app is optimized
for Samsung Electronics Smartphones (Galaxy
S4, Galaxy Note 3).
For other Smartphones, some functions may
work differently.
• Supported Wireless Channel is 1 to 11.
8. If you have completed the network settings
properly, the app shows the home screen.
• Please confirm your Internet devices (AP,
Smartphone) are working properly before
configuring the network settings.
- This refrigerator supports the IEEE 802.11
a/b/g/n protocols.
Samsung Electronics recommends IEEE
802.11n.
- To connect the refrigerator to a wireless
network, you have to connect the refrigerator to
an AP (router or modem).
If the AP supports DHCP, you can connect the
refrigerator to the Internet using DHCP or a
fixed IP address.
- Set the channel of the AP to one not currently
being used.
If the channel set for the AP is being used
by another device nearby, it may result in
interference.

MAC Address Display Mode
This function displays the MAC address of the WiFi module on the refrigerator for one minute.
1. Press and hold Freezer and Energy Saver at the
same time for 3 seconds.
2. A Buzzer sounds. Four of the twelve Mac
address of the Wi-Fi module are displayed
in turns in the freezer and fridge temperature
displays for 1 minute.
For example, if the Wi-Fi module’s MAC
address is “11-22-33-44-55-66”, the MAC
address is displayed as follows: “11 22” → “33
44” → “55 66” → ---- → “11 22” for 1 minute.
3. After 1 minute, the Buzzer sounds again and
the display returns to its normal state.
If the Mac addresses are not available or
there is no Wi-Fi module, `----’ is displayed
on the freezer and fridge temperature
displays.
SMART GRID Function
(Demand Response)
When the refrigerator operates in SMART
GRID (Demand Response) mode, the E-Smart
Refrigerator function can control energy usage
or delay the operation of some functions to save
money when energy prices or demand are the
highest.
OPERATING
You can deactivate the SMART GRID
(Demand Response) function at any
time. (Using the Override On/Off
function)
To use the SMART GRID (Demand
Response) function, you need a
separate contract with your electric
Utility company.
Using the SMART GRID (Demand
Response) Function
This feature monitors energy prices and demand
information from your utility company and sends
notifications to the refrigerator to run high energyconsuming tasks during off-peak times when
electricity costs and demand are lower.
If the refrigerator receives a control signal from
the Utility Company, the refrigerator will display
the DAL(L3) ~ TALR(L4) levels on the refrigerator
display and control the power consumption
according to the level.
[Exception condition] The DAL and TALR control
signals from an Utility Company work as long as
product performance is maintained.
If the refrigerator receives the SMART GRID
(Demand Response) signal (DAL or TALR),

• Delay Appliance Load (L3): The refrigerator
responds to a DAL signal by providing a
moderate load reduction for the duration of the
delay period.
This function controls functions that consume
a large amount of energy such as adjusting the
Cooling system, performing the defrost cycle,
and making ice.
- When the refrigerator operates in DAL (L3)
mode, “L3” is displayed on the refrigerator
display.
- DAL mode is automatically deactivated after it
lasts for the received duration (max. 4.5 hours),
or when the Override key is pressed.
• Temporary Appliance Load Reduction (L4):
The refrigerator responds to a TALR signal by
aggressively reducing the load for a short time
period.
This function reduces energy consumption
by stopping the compressor and controlling
the functions that consume a large amount of
energy such as the defrost cycle and making
ice.
- When the refrigerator operates in TALR (L4)
mode, “L4” is displayed on the refrigerator
display.
- TALR (L4) mode is automatically deactivated
after it lasts for the received duration (max. 15
minutes), or when the Override key is pressed.
The mode is immediately deactivated and the
refrigerator returns to the normal state when
the door is opened or closed, or the dispenser
is used.
Activating and deactivating Override
mode
1. Press and hold the [Energy Saver] button for 3
seconds.
2. A buzzer sounds and `Or’ and `on’ is displayed
on the freezer and fridge temperature displays
for 5 seconds.
3. If the refrigerator receives a SMART GRID
(Demand Response) signal from the Utility
Company, `Or’ is displayed in the freezer
temperature display.
4. To deactivate OVERRIDE mode, press and hold
the [Energy Saver] button for 3 seconds.
Override Mode
When you want the refrigerator to ignore the
SMART GRID (Demand Response) signal from
the Utility Company, you can activate OVERRIDE
mode.
When you activate OVERRIDE mode, the
refrigerator ignores the SMART GRID (Demand
Response) signal and is not controlled by the Utility
Company.

CONTROLLING THE
TEMPERATURE
Basic temperature of Freezer and
Refrigerator Compartments
The basic and recommended temperatures of the
Freezer and Fridge compartments are 0°F and
37°F (or -18°C and 3°C) respectively.
If the temperature of the Freezer or Refrigerator
Compartments are too high or low, adjust the
temperature manually.
Controlling the Freezer temperature
Recommend Temp (Freezer) : 0 °F (or -18 °C )
The Freezer temperature can be set between -8°F
and 5°F (or between -23°C and -15°C) to suit
your particular needs.
Press the Freezer button repeatedly until the
desired temperature is shown in the temperature
display.
The temperature will change by 1°F (or 1°C) with
each press. See below.
Fahrenheit : 0°F → -1°F → -2°F → -3°F → -4°F
→ -5°F → -6°F → -7°F → -8°F → 5°F → 4°F →
3°F → 2°F → 1°F → 0°F.
Centigrade : -18°C → -19°C → -20°C → -21°C
→ -22°C → -23°C → -15°C → -16°C → -17°C
→ -18°C.
Keep in mind that foods such as ice cream may/
melt at 4°F (or -15.5°C).
The temperature display will move sequentially
from -8°F to 5°F (or from -23°C to -15°C).
Controlling the Fridge temperature
Recommend Temp (Fridge) : 37 °F (or 3 °C )
The fridge temperature can be set between 34°F
and 44°F (or between 1°C and 7°C) to suit your
particular needs.
Press the Fridge button repeatedly until the desired
temperature is shown in the temperature display.
The temperature will change by 1°F (or 1°C) with
each press. See below.
Fahrenheit : 37°F → 36°F → 35°F → 34°F →
44°F → 43°F → 42°F → 41°F → 40°F → 39°F
→ 38°F → 37°F.
Centigrade : 3°C → 2°C → 1°C → 7°C → 6°C →
5°C → 4°C → 3°C.
The temperature control process for the Fridge
works just like the Freezer process.
Press the Fridge button to set your desired
temperature.
After a few seconds, the Fridge will begin adjusting
towards the newly set temperature.
This will be reflected in the digital display.
• The temperature of the Freezer or Fridge
may rise when you open the doors too
frequently, or if a large amount of warm
or hot food is placed inside.
• This may cause the digital display to blink.
Once the Freezer and Fridge temperatures
return to their normal set temperatures, the
blinking will stop.
• If the blinking continues, you may need to
“reset” the Refrigerator.
Try unplugging the appliance, waiting for
around 10 minutes, and then plugging the
power cord back in.

USING THE ICE AND COLD

Using the Ice & Water Dispenser together
To get Ice and water, push the Ice lever (1) first
for ice, then move your glass down and press the
water dispenser lever (2) for water.
CAUTION
Please wait 2 seconds before removing the glass
under the dispenser to prevent spills.
If the Refrigerator door is open, the Dispenser
does not work.
• Do not pull the lever out.
You could damage or break the lever’s spring.
• To clean the ice bin/bucket, wash with a mild
detergent, rinse well, and dry thoroughly it.
Do not use harsh or abrasive cleaners or
solvents.
• In case ice doesn’t come out, pull out the ice
bucket and press the test button located on the
right side of ice maker.
• Do not press the test button continuously when
the tray is filled with ice or water. Water may
overflow or ice may jam the bucket.
• When you press the Test button, you will
hear the refrigerator chime (ding-dong).
When the chime sounds, release the Test
button.
• The chime sounds automatically again to let
you know the ice maker is working well.
OPERATING
Using the Water lever (2)
Push the Water lever dispenser (2) gently with
your glass.
Water will be released from the dispenser.
Even if you push the water and Ice lever at
about the same time, the dispenser glass
only the option you actually selected or
pushed first.
Please wait 1 second before removing
the cup after dispensing water to prevent
spills.
Do not pull out the lever dispenser after
dispensing ice or water.
It comes back automatically.

CAUTION
If a power failure occurs, ice cubes may melt then
freeze together when the power comes back on,
causing the dispenser to be out of order.
To prevent this problem, after a power failure, pull
out the ice bucket and discard the residual ice or
water.
After you dump the ice from the ice bucket, you
should press the dispenser lever once with the
‘ICE CUBED’ or ‘CRUSHED’ function ON.
The ice maker will make new ice faster after you
return the ice bucket to the refrigerator.
Do not use sharp items such as knives or forks.
• When you remove the ice bucket, there may
still be some residual ice in the ice maker.
The ice maker may eject this ice into the
freezer.
USING THE ICE MAKER
• To Remove the Ice Bucket.
- Hold the handle as shown in figure1.
- Lift up and pull the Bucket out slowly.
- Take out Ice Bucket out slowly to prevent
damage.
- When you reinstall the ice bucket, press and
hold the ICE button for 6 seconds.
WARNING
• Do not put your fingers, hands, or any
unsuitable objects in the chute or ice-maker
bucket.
- This can cause personal injury or material
damage.
• Use only the ice maker provided with the
refrigerator.
• Have the refrigerator’s water supply connected
only to a potable water supply.
• The ice maker requires water pressure of
20-125psi (138~862kPa) to operate properly.
CAUTION
• If you are going on a long vacation or business
trip and won’t be using the water or ice
dispensers for that period of time, close the
water valve to prevent leaks.
• If you have not used the Ice maker for a
while, or you have opened the Freezer door
frequently, the Ice may stick together.
If this occurs, empty the ice bucket or break up
the ice with a wood kitchen tool.

• Normal Operation
- Any sounds you hear when the ice maker
dumps ice into the bucket are part of normal
operation.
- Ice may clump in the bucket if you do not
dispense ice for long periods of time.
If this occurs, remove all the ice and empty the
bucket.
- If ice does not come out, check for any ice
stuck in the chute and remove it.
- The first batch of ice cubes after installation
may be small because air has entered the water

• To prevent injury, be sure to clean up any ice or
water that may have dropped on the floor.

mechanical parts.
• Use care when storing food in plastic bags in
the freezer.
Incorrectly stored bags can get caught in the
ice bucket’s Auger Motor and prevent the

freezer door to open unexpectedly.

- Remove the Icemaker Bucket by lifting it up
and pulling it out slowly.
- Grip the handle as shown in the figure.
- Remove the Ice Bucket slowly to prevent

Do not use excessive force when removing
the drawer cover.
You can break the cover and cause injury.
Before removing any accessories, make
sure that no food is in the way.
When possible, remove the food
altogether to reduce the risk of accidents.
7. Removing the Deodorizer
• The Deodorizer helps remove odors from the
refrigerator.
The deodorizing function may diminish over
time.
However, you can prolong its lifespan, if you
wash and dry the Deodorizer as below.
• Wash the Deodorizer with clean water once
every two years or whenever you feel its
performance has diminished.
• Dry the deodorizer under the sun for 24 hours
and then replace it in the reverse order of its
removal.
CLEANING THE REFRIGERATOR
WARNING
Do not use benzene, thinner, Clorox, or car
detergent to clean the refrigerator.
They can damage the surface of the appliance and
may cause a fire.
Do not spray the refrigerator with water while it is
plugged in.
This can cause an electric shock.
To clean the refrigerator, follow these steps:
• Pull out the shelf slightly and then pull out the
unit while pushing the deodorizer cover clip up
using a flathead screwdriver.

1. Unplug the power cord of the refrigerator.
2. Slightly dampen a soft, lint-free-free cloth or
paper towel with water.
Do not use any kind of detergent to clean

3. Wipe the inside and outside of the refrigerator
until it is clean and dry.
4. Plug the power cord of the refrigerator back in.

CHANGING THE INTERIOR
LIGHTS
Freezer / Fridge LED Lamp
• If the LED Lamp Cover is stained with foreign
substances, the LED lamp may not look bright.
Wipe the surface cover with a clean, dry cloth
to return the light to full brightness.
CAUTION
Do not disassemble or replace the LED type
lighting yourself.
To replace the LED lights, contact a Samsung
service center or your authorized Samsung dealer.
If you attempt to replace the LED lamps
yourself, you risk subjecting yourself to an
electric shock or serious personal injury.
TO IMPROVE THE COOLING
PERFORMANCE
Do not block the cold air outlets with food.
If the cold air outlets are blocked, cold air
cannot penetrate the entire compartment
and will be unable to freeze the food
efficiently, resulting in a degraded cooling
performance.
CHANGING THE WATER FILTER
WARNING
To reduce risk of water damage to your property
DO NOT use generic brands of water filers in your

How to Change the Water Filter
The “Filter Indicator” light lets you know when it is
time to change your water filter cartridge.
To give you preparation time to get a new filter, the
red light will come on just before the capacity of
the current filter runs out.
Changing the filter on time provides you with the
freshest, cleanest water from your fridge.
To change the water filter, follow these steps:
1. Turn the water
filter 90˚ counterclockwise.
2. Pull the water
filter from the filter
housing.

A newly installed water filter cartridge may
cause water to briefly spurt from the water

This is due to air getting into the line.
It should pose no problem to operation.
CAUTION
When you replace the water filter, water can drip
from the bottom front of the refrigerator.
Make sure to clean up any drips or spills after you
have changed the filter.
Removing residual matter inside the water
supply line after installing a new filter
1. Press the Water button, and then push the
Dispenser Lever with a cup or glass.
2. Flush 1 gallon of water through the filter, one
cup or glass at a time. (Flush approximately 6
minutes.)
This will clean the water supply system and
remove air from the lines.
- Additional flushing may be required in some
households.
3. Open the refrigerator door and make sure there
are no water leaks coming from the water filter.
Reverse Osmosis Water Supply
IMPORTANT :
The pressure of the water supply coming out of a
reverse osmosis system going to the water inlet
valve of the refrigerator needs to be between 35
and 120 psi (241 and 827 kPa).
If a reverse osmosis water filtration system is
connected to your cold water supply, the water
pressure to the reverse osmosis system needs to
be a minimum of 40 to 60 psi (276 to 414 kPa.)
If the water pressure to the reverse osmosis
system is less than 40 to 60 psi (276 to 414 kPa):
• Check to see whether the sediment filter in the
reverse osmosis system is blocked.
Replace the filter if necessary.
• Allow the storage tank on the reverse osmosis
system to refill after heavy usage.
• If your refrigerator has a water filter, it may
further reduce the water pressure when used
in conjunction with a reverse osmosis system.
Remove the water filter.
If you have questions about your water pressure,
call a licensed, qualified plumber.

If so, it may not be able to cool sufficiently. Install it in a location that is out of direct
sunlight and not near a heat source.
• Is the back of the refrigerator too close to the wall, preventing proper ventilation?
If so, it may not be able to cool sufficiently. Keep it an appropriate distance from the
wall.
• Is there too much food inside so that the food is blocking the outlet vent?
To keep the refrigerator at a suitable temperature, do not fill the refrigerator with too
much food.
• Is the temperature control on the display panel set to the correct temperature?
Try setting it to a warmer temperature.
• Is the temperature in the room very low?
• Did you store the food with a high water content in the coldest part of the fridge?
Try moving those items into the body of the fridge instead of keeping them in the
CoolSelect Zone™ drawer.
• Check that the refrigerator is level and stable.
• Is the back of the refrigerator too close to the wall and therefore keeping air from
circulating?
• Was anything dropped behind or under the refrigerator?
• A “ticking” sound is heard from inside the refrigerator. This is normal and occurs
because various accessories are contracting or expanding in relation to the
temperature of the refrigerator interior.
• Some heat is normal as anti-condensators are installed in the front corners of the
refrigerator to prevent condensation.
• Is the refrigerator door ajar? Condensation can occur when you leave the door open
for a long time.
• Water condensation in the drawer may occur when storing vegetables and it will be
removed naturally as time passes.
• Did you wait for 12 hours after installation of the water supply line before making ice?
It may take longer to make ice if it is not sufficiently cool, such as when first installed.
• Is the water line connected and the shut-off valve open?
• Did you manually stop the ice making function? Make sure Ice is set to Cubed or
Crushed.
• Is there any ice blocked within the ice maker bucket?
• Is the freezer temperature too warm? Try setting the freezer temperature lower.
• This is normal. The bubbling comes from the refrigerant coolant liquid circulating
through the refrigerator.
• Has a food item spoiled?
• Make sure that strong smelling food (for example, fish) is wrapped so that it is airtight.
• Clean out your freezer periodically and throw away any spoiled food.
When cleaning the inside of the fridge, store food elsewhere and unplug the
appliance. Wipe with a dry dishcloth after 2-3 hours and then circulate air inside the
refrigerator.

• Is the air vent blocked? Remove any obstructions so air can circulate freely.
• Allow sufficient space between the foods stored for efficient air circulation.
• Is the freezer drawer closed properly?
If the freezer drawer is not completely closed or is blocked, humidity from outside
may enter and cause severe frost to form.
• Is the water line connected and the shut-off valve open?
• Has the water supply line tubing been crushed or kinked?
Make sure the tubing is free and clear of any obstruction.
• Is the water tank frozen because the refrigerator temperature is too low?
Try selecting a warmer setting on the main display panel.
• Check if the filter is properly installed. If it is not properly installed, the water dispenser
may not work.
• To use the Smart Grid (Demand Response) and E-Smart function on your
Refrigerator, you need the following devices and apps:
- Devices: 1) Wireless Router, 2) Samsung E-Smart Refrigerator, 3) Smartphone
(Recommended: Galaxy S4, Galaxy Note3 or later models and Android OS Jelly Bean
or later version)
- Applications: 1) “Samsung E-Smart App” from the Google Play Store or Samsung
Apps.
You also need to:
• Connect the Refrigerator and the Smartphone to the same Wi-Fi network in your
home.
• Install and run Samsung E-Smart App on your Smartphone.
• In addition, to use the Smart Grid (Demand Response) function, you must Register for
the service with your electric company.
The company must have an EMS (Energy Management System) that supports SEP
(Smart Energy profile).
• Confirm that the router in your home and the Internet are working properly.
- Connect a Smartphone to the router (AP, Access Point), and then confirm that you
can browse the Internet on the phone.
• Confirm that refrigerator is connected to the AP.
- Check the E-Smart icon on the PANEL of the refrigerator.
If the refrigerator is connected, the icon will be on.
• Confirm that the refrigerator and Smart Phone are connected to the same router.
• Confirm that the router in your home and the Internet are working properly.
- Connect a Smartphone to the router (AP, Access Point), and then confirm that you
can browse the Internet on the phone.
• Confirm that the area where you live is properly entered into the Smart phone App.
• Confirm that the Smart Grid function works correctly.
(Check the PANEL. L3 and L4 should not be displayed on the PANEL.)
• Push lever dispenser and check water supply.
• Push lever dispenser (Ice mode) and check operation of auger motor.
• Remove objects on shelves that might obstruct drive auger.
Precautions : If you have not dispensed the water or ice for an extended time, the
ice bucket may accumulate ice chunk that interferes with the drive auger, causing the
inability to dispense.
Remove the remaining ice of bucket and object that might obstruct drive Auger.
Please operate dispenser (water & ice) and it will improve auto-closing of freezer door.

Para volver a ensamblar la PUERTA DEL PANEL
DEL COMPARTIMIENTO DEL FRÍO, coloque de
nuevo las piezas en orden inverso.
4. CÓMO VOLVER A ENSAMBLAR LA
CUBIERTA DE LA BISAGRA
1. Abra las puertas del refrigerador.
2. Ensamble la cubierta de la bisagra en la parte
superior del refrigerador.
Asegure la cubierta en su lugar con los tres
tornillos que retiró anteriormente mediante un
desarmador Phillips.
5. CÓMO VOLVER A ENSAMBLAR LA
TUBERÍA DE SUMINISTRO DE AGUA
1. La tubería de agua se debe insertar
completamente hasta el centro del acoplador
transparente para impedir fugas de agua del
despachador.
2. Inserte las 2 grapas del paquete de instalación

Cómo nivelar el refrigerador
Si la parte frontal del electrodoméstico está un
poco más elevada que la posterior, la puerta
puede abrirse y cerrarse con mayor facilidad.
Si instala el refrigerador sobre un superficie que no
esté nivelada, el refrigerador tenderá a ladearse.
Si el lado del congelador está más bajo:
• Con un desarmador de punta chata gire el
nivelador de altura situado en la parte inferior
posterior de la puerta del congelador en la
dirección de la flecha hasta nivelar el aparato.
Si el lado del refrigerador está más bajo:
• Con un desarmador de punta chata gire el
nivelador de la altura situado en la parte inferior
posterior de la puerta del refrigerador en la
dirección de la flecha hasta nivelar el aparato.

CAUTION

• Levante la parte frontal del refrigerador
hasta que las puertas se cierren por sí
solas.
Si ajusta los niveladores de manera que
la parte posterior del refrigerador esté
mucho alta que la frontal, le costará a
abrir las puertas.
• Si la parte posterior del refrigerador no está
nivelada, ponga una tabla de madera o una
baldosa del tamaño adecuado en el lugar
donde colocará la pata que desea levantar y
fíjela en el suelo con cinta adhesiva.
Deslice el refrigerador hasta su lugar, con la
pata posterior que desee levantar sobre la
baldosa o la madera.
Luego nivele las patas delanteras.
• Cuando mueva el refrigerador tenga cuidado
de no dañar el piso.
CÓMO AJUSTAR LA ALTURA DE
LAS PUERTAS
1. Abra la puerta que necesita ajuste y afloje la
tuerca de fijación (A) de la parte inferior de la
puerta girándola en el sentido de las agujas del
reloj ( ) con la llave provista en el empaque
del producto. (Primero levante la parte más
baja de las dos puertas.)

2. Ajuste la altura de la puerta girando la tuerca
de ajuste (B) en el sentido contrario al de las
agujas del reloj ( ) con una llave.
(Gire en el sentido contrario al de las agujas
del reloj ( ) para levantar la puerta y en
el sentido de las agujas del reloj ( ) para
bajarla.)
- Abra la puerta y ajústela por la parte interior.
PUESTA A PUNTO
Si una puerta está más baja que la otra:
• La diferencia de altura entre las puertas se
puede equilibrar con las tuercas de ajuste
situadas en la parte inferior de cada puerta.
• Si se levanta demasiado la puerta, puede
interferir con la cubierta de la bisagra al
cerrarse o abrirse.

3. Cuando las dos puertas estén a la misma
altura, gire la tuerca de ajuste (A) en el sentido
contrario al de las agujas del reloj ( ) para
apretarla.

ocurrir que al llenarlo se desnivele

Si la holgura entre la puerta del refrigerador y la del
congelador no es uniforme:
• Use el adaptador de holgura situado en la parte
superior de la puerta del refrigerador (lado
derecho).
• No aplique una fuerza excesiva ya que podría
romper el adaptador.

• Use los adaptadores de espacio situados en el
borde superior interno de cada puerta.
2. Ajuste la holgura con una llave Allen de 4 mm
(no incluida).
3. Gire el tornillo en el sentido de las agujas del
reloj ( ) para ampliar la holgura.
Gire en sentido contrario al de las agujas del
reloj ( ) para estrechar la holgura.
Ajuste hasta que la holgura entre la puerta del
refrigerador y la puerta del congelador sea la
misma.
CAUTION
Cuando coloque los cables, tenga cuidado de no
dañar o pelar el recubrimiento.
1. Abra la puerta con una menor holgura con el
refrigerador y gire el adaptador en el sentido
contrario al de las agujas del reloj ( ) hasta
que la holgura sea la misma en ambas puertas.

INSTALACIÓN DE LA TUBERÍA
DEL DESPACHADOR DE AGUA
El despachador de agua es una de las funciones
útiles de su nuevo refrigerador Samsung.
Con el fin de promover la buena salud, el filtro de
agua Samsung elimina las partículas no deseadas
del agua.
No obstante, no la esteriliza ni destruye los
microorganismos.
Para hacerlo, necesitaría adquirir un sistema de
purificación de agua.
La tubería de agua también se conecta a la fábrica
de hielo.
Para que la fábrica de hielo funcione
correctamente, se necesita una presión de agua
de 20 ~ 125 psi (138 ~ 862 Kpa).
Si el refrigerador se instala en una zona con baja
presión de agua (inferior a los 20 psi), puede
instalar una bomba cebadora para compensar la
baja presión.
Una vez conectada la tubería de agua, asegúrese
de que el tanque de almacenamiento de agua
dentro del refrigerador esté lleno.
Para hacerlo, presione la palanca del despachador
hasta que salga agua.
Su distribuidor le podrá ofrecer los
equipos de instalación de tuberías de agua
disponibles a un costo adicional.
Recomendamos utilizar un equipo de
suministro de agua que contenga tubería
de cobre.
La garantía del refrigerador Samsung no
cubre la instalación de la tubería de agua.
Recomendamos que un fontanero o un
instalador autorizado instale la tubería del
agua.
Conexión a la tubería de suministro de
agua
1. Primero, corte la tubería principal de suministro
de agua y apague la fábrica de hielo.
El refrigerador NO debe estar enchufado
en este momento.
2. Localice la tubería de agua potable fría más
cercana.
3. Instale la abrazadera y la válvula de cierre.
4. Conecte el equipo de instalación de la tubería

3. Abra el agua y verifique si hay alguna fuga
dentro del refrigerador, alrededor del filtro de
agua y en las zonas de las conexiones.
Si encuentra gotas o fugas de agua, cierre el
suministro de agua principal.
Si hay fugas en las zonas de las conexiones,
verifique estas y, si es necesario, apriételas.
Si hay fugas en el refrigerador, revise el filtro de
agua y asegúrese de que esté en la posición de
bloqueado.
Abra el agua y verifique de nuevo que no haya
fugas.
4. Enchufe el refrigerador.
5. Haga correr 1 galones de agua a través del
filtro antes de beber o utilizar el agua del
refrigerador.
(El agua debe correr unos 6 minutos.)
Este procedimiento limpiará el sistema de
suministro de agua y eliminará el aire de las
tuberías.
Para hacer correr el agua, presione el botón
Water (Agua) y luego presione la palanca del
despachador de agua con un vaso o una taza

la cocina y repita el proceso.

FINALIZACIÓN DE LA
INSTALACIÓN
Ahora que ya tiene el nuevo refrigerador instalado
en su lugar, puede configurarlo y disfrutar de sus
funciones.
Complete los siguientes pasos para poner el
refrigerador en funcionamiento.
1. Asegúrese de que el refrigerador se
encuentre en una ubicación apropiada a una
distancia razonable de la pared. Consulte las
instrucciones de instalación de este manual.
2. Una vez enchufado, asegúrese de que la
luz interior se encienda cuando se abran las
puertas.
3. Coloque el control de temperatura en la marca
más fría y espere una hora.
El congelador comenzará a enfriarse y el motor
funcionará adecuadamente.
Restablezca la temperatura del refrigerador y
del congelador que desee.
4. Después de enchufar el refrigerador,
éste tardará algunas horas en alcanzar la
temperatura adecuada.
Podrá almacenar alimentos y bebidas en el
refrigerador una vez que la temperatura sea lo
suficientemente baja.
5. Una vez finalizada la instalación, presione la
palanca del despachador para verificar que el
agua o el hielo se suministren correctamente.
6. Asegúrese de que la parte frontal del
refrigerador esté 0.6 grados más elevada que la
parte inferior.
Si hay condensación o gotas de agua
en ambos lados de la parte central de la
puerta del refrigerador, apague el modo
Ahorro de energía después de retirar la
condensación.

El botón Lighting (Luz) tiene dos funciones:

del despachador se enciende en modo
continuo y queda encendida. El botón
también se ilumina. Si desea que la luz

Cuando haya reemplazado el filtro de
agua, mantenga presionado este botón
durante 3 segundos para restablecer el
indicador de vida útil del filtro de agua.

Se puede desactivar presionando y
liberando el botón Alarm (Alarma).
Puede volver a activarla con el mismo
procedimiento.
El ícono se enciende cuando la función se
activa.
Cuando la función de Alarma de la puerta
está activada y se oye el sonido de la
alarma, el ícono Door Alarm (Alarma de
la puerta) parpadeará mientras suena la
alarma.

El botón Ice Maker Off (Fábrica de hielo
desactivada) tiene dos funciones:
- Encender y apagar la fábrica de hielo.

bloqueo de control.
- Tenga en cuenta que si mantiene
pulsada la palanca del dispensador
de hielo durante más de 5 segundos,
se desactivará el modo Ice Maker Off

función de bloqueo de control.
Presione 3 segundos para desbloquear.
Si la función de fábrica de hielo está
encendida y la tubería de agua no está
conectada, se escuchará un sonido de
válvula de agua desde la parte posterior
de la unidad.
Presione el botón Ice Maker Off (Control
Lock (3sec)) (Fábrica de hielo desactivada
[Bloqueo control (3 s)] durante menos de
3 segundos hasta que el indicador Ice Off
(Hielo desactivado) ( ) se encienda.
Visor apagado
Para ahorrar energía, el panel del visor se apaga
automáticamente en las siguientes condiciones:

Cómo se usa el filtro de agua
Este ícono se enciende cuando es
necesario reemplazar el filtro, normalmente
después de que el refrigerador haya
despachado 300 galones de agua
(después de aproximadamente 6 meses).
El icono se pondrá de color rojo y
parpadeará durante varios segundos
cuando se abra o se cierre la puerta.
Después de haber instalado el nuevo
filtro de agua, restablezca el indicador del
filtro manteniendo presionado el botón
Filter Reset (Restablecer filtro) durante 3
segundos.
- Si el agua no sale del despachador o lo
hace lentamente, se necesita remplazar
el filtro porque está obturado.
- Algunas zonas poseen grandes
cantidades de cal en el agua, lo
que provoca que el filtro de agua se
obstruya con más rapidez.
Si este es el caso en su zona, deberá
cambiar el filtro de agua con una
frecuencia superior a seis meses.
PRECAUCIÓN
Si parece que el refrigerador funciona pero no
enfría y se mueven los indicadores de temperatura
del congelador y refrigerador, el refrigerador está
en el modo Enfriamiento desactivado.
Para cancelar el modo Enfriamiento desactivado,
siga las indicaciones anteriores.
FUNCIONAMIENTO
E-Smart
El ícono E-Smart permite verificar el estado de la
conexión del PA del refrigerador (conexión de red).
• Cuando está conectado al PA: el ícono E-Smart
se enciende.
• Cuando no está conectado al PA: el ícono
E-Smart se apaga.

Modo de enfriamiento desactivado
El modo Enfriamiento desactivado,
también llamado modo Tienda,
está diseñado para que lo usen los
distribuidores cuando exhiben los
refrigeradores en las tiendas.
En el modo Enfriamiento desactivado,
el motor del ventilador y las luces del
refrigerador funcionan normalmente,
pero los compresores no lo hacen, y el
refrigerador y el congelador no se enfrían.
Para iniciar el modo Enfriamiento
desactivado, mantenga presionados los
botones Freezer (Congelador), Lighting
(Luz) y Fridge (Refrigerador) durante 5
segundos durante el funcionamiento
normal.
Se escuchará un repique en el refrigerador
y el indicador de temperatura parpadeará
en "OFF" (Apagado).
Para cancelar el modo Enfriamiento
desactivado, mantenga presionados
nuevamente los botones Freezer
(Congelador), Lighting (Luz) y Fridge
(Refrigerador) durante 5 segundos.

Conexión

los siguientes dispositivos y aplicaciones:

Descarga de la aplicación E-Smart y
conexión del refrigerador a la red
1. En el teléfono inteligente conéctese a la tienda
de aplicaciones (por ejemplo, Google Play,
etc.).
2. Busque la aplicación con la palabra clave
“Samsung E-Smart Ref.”.
3. Descargue la aplicación e instálela en su
teléfono.
4. Inicie la aplicación.
Aparece la pantalla de configuración de red.
5. Configure la información del PA (SSID,
contraseña, etc.) en la pantalla de la aplicación.
6. Configure la red según las indicaciones de la
aplicación.
7. En el refrigerador, mantenga presionados los
botones Fridge (Refrigerador) y Energy Saver
(Ahorro de energía) al mismo tiempo durante 3
segundos. El refrigerador accede al AP mode
(Modo PA).
- La mayoría de las redes inalámbricas permite
configurar la seguridad de la red.
Si su red tiene una contraseña de seguridad,
debe ingresarla para conectarse a la red.
• El refrigerador admite los modos de seguridad
inalámbrica y los tipos de encriptación
siguientes:
- Modo de seguridad: WEP, WPAPSK,
WPA2PSK
- Tipo de encriptación: WEP, TKIP, AES
(WPA2PSK y AES son los recomendados.)
• La aplicación solo admite control interior.
• La aplicación Samsung E-Smart Ref. está
optimizada para teléfonos inteligentes Samsung
Electronics (Galaxy S4 , Galaxy Note 3).
En otros teléfonos inteligentes, algunas
funciones pueden ser diferentes.
• Se admiten los canales inalámbricos 1 al 11.
8. Si la configuración de la red se completa
satisfactoriamente, la aplicación muestra la
pantalla de inicio.
• Verifique que los dispositivos de Internet (PA,
teléfono inteligente) funcionen correctamente
antes de configurar la red.
- Este refrigerador admite los protocolos IEEE
802.11 a/b/g/n.
Samsung Electronics recomienda IEEE
802.11n.
- Para conectar el refrigerador a una red
inalámbrica, debe conectar el refrigerador al PA
(enrutador o módem).
Si el PA admite DHCP, puede conectar el
refrigerador a Internet mediante DHCP o un
dirección IP establecida.
- Establezca el canal del PA en uno que no esté
utilizando actualmente.
Si el canal del PA lo está utilizando otro
dispositivo cercano, pueden producirse
interferencias.

Esta función muestra la dirección MAC del módulo
Wi-Fi del refrigerador durante 1 minuto.
1. Mantenga presionados los botones Freezer
(Congelador) y Energy Saver (Ahorro de
energía) durante 3 segundos.
Función SMART GRID
(respuesta a la demanda)
Cuando el refrigerador opera en modo SMART
GRID (respuesta a la demanda), la función
Refrigerador E-Smart permite controlar el uso
de energía o demorar algunas funciones para
ahorrar dinero cuando el precio de la energía o la
demanda son más elevados.
FUNCIONAMIENTO
Se puede desactivar el modo SMART
GRID (respuesta a la demanda) en
cualquier momento. (Usando la función
de activación/desactivación de la
anulación).
Para usar la función SMART GRID
(respuesta a la demanda), se necesita
un contrato aparte con la compañía de
servicio eléctrico.
2. Se poye un zumbido. Se muestran
sucesivamente cuatro de las doce direcciones
Mac del módulo Wi-Fi en los visores de
temperatura del congelador y del refrigerador
durante 1 minuto.
Por ejemplo, si la dirección MAC del módulo
Wi-Fi es “11-22-33-44-55-66”, la dirección
MAC se muestra así: “11 22” → “33 44” → “55
66” → ---- → “11 22” durante 1 minuto.
3. Después de 1 minuto, se oye nuevamente un
zumbido y el visor recupera el estado normal.
Si las direcciones Mac no están
disponibles o no hay módulo Wi-Fi,
se muestra `----’ en los visores de
temperatura del congelador y del
refrigerador.
Uso de la función SMART GRID
(respuesta a la demanda)
Esta función controla los precios de la energía y
la información de la demanda desde la compañía
de servicio eléctrico y envía notificaciones al
refrigerador para que ejecute tareas de mayor
consumo energético fuera de las horas punta
cuando el costo y la demanda de la electricidad
son menores.
Cuando el refrigerador recibe una señal de control
de la compañía de servicio eléctrico, muestra en el
visor del refrigerador los niveles DAL (L3) ~ TALR
(L4) y controla el consumo de energía según estos
niveles.
[Condición de excepción] Las señales de control
DAL y TALR de una compañía de servicio eléctrico
funcionan mientras se mantiene el rendimiento del
producto.
Si el refrigerador recibe la señal SMART GRID
(respuesta a la demanda) (DAL o TALR), funciona
en los modos Demora en la carga del aparato
(Visor: L3) o Reducción temporal de la carga del
aparato (Visor: L4).

• Demora en la carga del aparato (L3): el
refrigerador responde a una señal DAL
proporcionando una reducción de carga
moderada durante el periodo de demora.
Esta función controla las funciones que
consumen una gran cantidad de energía, como
el ajuste del sistema de enfriamiento, el ciclo de
descongelación y la fabricación de hielo.
- Cuando el refrigerador funciona en el modo
DAL (L3), se muestra “L3” en el visor del
refrigerador.
- El modo DAL se desactiva automáticamente
pasado el periodo establecido (máx. 4.5 horas)
o cuando se pulsa la tecla Override (Anular).
• Reducción temporal de la carga del aparato
(L4): el refrigerador responde a una señal TALR
reduciendo drásticamente la carga durante un
corto periodo de tiempo.
Esta función reduce el consumo de energía
deteniendo el compresor y controlando las
funciones que consumen una gran cantidad de
energía, como el ciclo de descongelación y la
fabricación de hielo.
- Cuando el refrigerador funciona en el modo
TALR (L4), se muestra “L4” en el visor del
refrigerador.
- El modo TALR (L4) se desactiva
automáticamente pasado el periodo
establecido (máx.15 minutos) o cuando se
pulsa la tecla Override (Anular).
El modo se desactiva inmediatamente y el
refrigerador recupera el estado normal cuando
se abre o se cierra la puerta o cuando se utiliza
el despachador.
Activación y desactivación del modo
de anulación
1. Mantenga presionado el botón [Energy Saver]
(Ahorro de energía) durante 3 segundos.
2. Se oye un zumbido y se muestra “Or” y “on” en
los visores de temperatura del congelador y del
refrigerador durante 5 segundos.
3. Si el refrigerador recibe la señal SMART GRID
(respuesta a la demanda) de la compañía de
servicio eléctrico, se muestra “Or” en el visor de
temperatura del congelador.
4. Para desactivar el modo OVERRIDE (ANULAR),
mantenga presionado el botón [Energy Saver]
(Ahorro de energía) durante 3 segundos.
Modo de anulación
Cuando desee que el refrigerador ignore la señal
SMART GRID (respuesta a la demanda) de la
compañía de servicio eléctrico, puede activar el
modo OVERRIDE (ANULAR).
Si activa el modo OVERRIDE (ANULAR), el
refrigerador ignora la señal SMART GRID
(respuesta a la demanda) y deja de estar
controlado por la compañía de servicio eléctrico.

La función E-SMART permite controlar y supervisar
remotamente el estado del refrigerador E-Smart
según su conveniencia.
• Para usar las funciones del refrigerador
E-SMART, en primer lugar debe instalar
la aplicación Samsung E-Smart App.
• La aplicación solo admite control interior.
Funciones E-Smart
1. Estado de funcionamiento, ajustes del usuario
y mensajes.
• Puede ver la configuración de la temperatura
del congelador y del refrigerador.
• Puede recibir una alarma cuando la puerta

3. Informe del consumo de energía
• Muestra el consumo de energía acumulado.
Los datos del consumo de energía se
actualizan cada 10 minutos.
El informe del consumo de energía puede
diferir de las especificaciones de consumo
de energía del producto dependiendo
del entorno de funcionamiento y de los
alimentos almacenados.
4. Capacidad de demora del descongelamiento
• La función Capacidad de demora del
descongelamiento ahorra energía demorando
el descongelamiento hasta el tiempo

Se puede configurar el tiempo y esta función
reduce el consumo de energía durante el
tiempo especificado en ciclos de 24 horas.
Si no se establece el tiempo, funciona de
acuerdo con la configuración de tiempo

la siguiente:
- 6 am a 10 am: 1 de noviembre ~ 30 de abril

Temperatura básica de los

Las temperaturas básicas y recomendadas de los
compartimientos del congelador y del refrigerador
son 0 °F y 37 °F (-18°C y 3°C) respectivamente.
Si la temperatura de los compartimientos del
congelador o del refrigerador es demasiado alta o
baja, ajuste la temperatura manualmente.

Cuando las temperaturas del congelador y del
refrigerador recuperen el rango establecido, el
visor dejará de parpadear.
• Si continúa parpadeando, deberá “reiniciar” el
Refrigerador.
Intente desenchufar el electrodoméstico,
espere aproximadamente 10 minutos y luego
enchúfelo nuevamente.

USO DE LOS DESPACHADORES
DE HIELO Y AGUA FRÍA
Presione el botón adecuado para

y de agua
Para obtener hielo y agua, empuje primero la
palanca del hielo ( 1 ) para obtener hielo, luego
mueva el vaso hacia abajo y empuje la palanca del
despachador de agua ( 2 ) para obtener agua.

PRECAUCIÓN
Espere 2 segundos antes de retirar el vaso del
despachador para evitar derrames.
Si la puerta del refrigerador está abierta, el
despachador no funciona.
• No jale la palanca.
Se podría dañar o romper el resorte de la
palanca.
• Para limpiar el cajón/la cubeta de hielo, utilice
un detergente suave, enjuáguelo y séquelo
bien.
No utilice limpiadores abrasivos ni solventes.
• Si no llegara a salir el hielo, extraiga la cubeta
y presione el botón Test (Probar) ubicado a la
derecha de la fábrica de hielo.
• No presione el botón Test (Probar)
continuamente cuando la charola esté llena de
hielo o agua. El agua se puede desbordar o el
hielo puede atascar la cubeta.
• Cuando presione el botón de prueba,
escuchará el repique del refrigerador
(talán, talán). Cuando escuche el sonido,
suelte el botón Test (Probar).
• Se escuchará automáticamente un sonido
que indica que la máquina de hielo está
funcionando correctamente.
FUNCIONAMIENTO
Aunque empuje las palancas de agua y
de hielo simultáneamente, el despachador
activará solo la opción seleccionada o
presionada en primer lugar.
Espere 1 segundo antes de retirar el vaso
después de llenarlo de agua para evitar
derrames.
No tire de la palanca del despachador
después de sacar hielo o agua.
Vuelve automáticamente.

PRECAUCIÓN
En caso de corte de energía, los cubos de hielo
pueden derretirse y luego congelarse cuando
vuelve la energía, provocando que el despachador
deje de funcionar.
Para evitar que esto suceda, después de un corte
de energía, extraiga la cubeta de hielo y deseche
el hielo o el agua residuales.
Después de haber eliminado el hielo de la cubeta,
deberá presionar la palanca del despachador una
vez con la función de hielo CUBED (EN CUBOS) o
CRUSHED (TRITURADO) activada.
La fábrica de hielo producirá nuevo hielo más
rápido cuando vuelva a colocar la cubeta en el
refrigerador.
Si esto ocurre, vacíe la cubeta de hielo o rompa
el hielo con un utensilio de cocina de madera.
No utilice elementos filosos como cuchillos o
tenedores.
• Cuando se retira la cubeta, puede haber
todavía hielo residual en la fábrica de hielo.
La fábrica de hielo puede impulsar este hielo
dentro del congelador.
USO DE LA FÁBRICA DE HIELO
• Para retirar la cubeta de hielo.
- Sostenga la manija como se muestra en la
figura 1.
- Levante y jale la cubeta lentamente.
- Retire lentamente la cubeta de hielo para
prevenir daños.
- Cuando vuelva a instalar la cubeta de hielo,
mantenga presionado el botón ICE (HIELO)
durante 6 segundos.
ADVERTENCIA
• No coloque los dedos, las manos, ni cualquier
otro objeto inapropiado en el recipiente o en la
cubeta de la fábrica de hielo.
- Puede provocar lesiones personales o daños
materiales.
• Utilice solamente la fábrica de hielo del
refrigerador.
• El refrigerador solo debe estar conectado al
suministro de agua potable.
• La fábrica de hielo requiere una presión de
agua de 20-125psi (138~862kPa) para
funcionar correctamente.
PRECAUCIÓN
• Si toma unas largas vacaciones o hace un viaje
de negocios y no utilizará los despachadores
de agua o de hielo por un período prolongado,
cierre la válvula de agua para evitar fugas de agua.
• Si no utiliza la fábrica de hielo por un tiempo o
si abre la puerta del congelador con frecuencia,
el hielo puede pegarse.

• Funcionamiento normal
- Cualquier sonido que oiga cuando la fábrica
de hielo arroja hielo en la cubeta es parte del
funcionamiento normal.
- El hielo puede amontonarse en la cubeta si no
saca hielo durante un período prolongado.
Si ocurre esto, retire todo el hielo y vacíe la cubeta.
- Si no sale hielo, verifique el hielo trabado en el
recipiente y retírelo.
- La primera tanda de cubos de hielo después
de la instalación puede ser pequeña debido a
que ha ingresado aire en la tubería.

PRECAUCIÓN
• Cuando parpadee Ice Maker Off (Fábrica de
hielo desactivada) en el panel del visor, vuelva
a insertar la cubeta y asegúrese de que está
instalada correctamente.
• Cuando la puerta está abierta, no funciona el
despachador de hielo ni el de agua.
• Si cierra la puerta con fuerza, el agua puede
derramarse sobre la fábrica de hielo.
• Para evitar que se caiga la cubeta de hielo, use
ambas manos al retirarla.
• Para evitar lesiones, debe limpiar el hielo o el
agua que pueda haber caído en el suelo.
• No permita que los niños se cuelguen del
despachador de hielo o de la cubeta.
Pueden lastimarse.
• No debe colocar la mano o cualquier otro
objeto dentro del recipiente de hielo.
Esto puede provocar lesiones personales o
daños a las piezas mecánicas.
• Tenga cuidado cuando guarde alimentos en
bolsas de plástico en el congelador.
La bolsas incorrectamente guardadas pueden
quedar atrapadas por el motor sinfín de la
fábrica de hielo e impedir que el refrigerador
despache hielo o provocar que la puerta del
congelador se abra inesperadamente.

REMOCIÓN DE LOS
ACCESORIOS DEL

• Abra la puerta completamente, levante y jale el
estante para retirarlo.

y luego levántelo

para extraerlo.

• Antes de extraer el cajón de vegetales/
alimentos secos, debe retirar los
compartimientos multiuso de la puerta.
• Levante ligeramente el compartimiento y
extráigalo.

8. Limpieza del desodorizador
- Retire la cubeta de la fábrica de hielo
levantándola y jalando lentamente.
- Sostenga la manija como se muestra en la
figura.
- Retire lentamente la cubeta de hielo para
prevenir daños.
No aplique demasiada fuerza al retirar la
cubierta del cajón.
La cubierta puede romperse y provocar
lesiones.
Antes de retirar cualquier accesorio,
asegúrese de que no haya comida cerca.
Cuando sea posible, retire la comida al
mismo tiempo para reducir el riesgo de
accidentes.
• El desodorizador ayuda a eliminar los
malos olores del refrigerador. La función de
desodorización puede disminuir con el tiempo.
No obstante, puede prolongar su vida útil si
lava y seca el desodorizador como se muestra
a continuación.
• Lave el desodorizador con agua limpia una vez
cada dos años o siempre que advierta que su
desempeño se reduce.
• Deje secar el desodorizador al sol durante 24
horas y vuelva a colocarlo.
LIMPIEZA DEL REFRIGERADOR
ADVERTENCIA
No limpie el refrigerador con benceno, solvente,
Clorox ni detergente para automóviles.
Pueden dañar la superficie del refrigerador y
provocar un incendio.
No pulverice el refrigerador con agua mientras está
enchufado.
Puede provocar una descarga eléctrica.

7. Extracción del desodorizador
• Jale el estante ligeramente y luego extraiga
la unidad mientras presiona la grapa de la
cubierta del desodorizador con un desarmador
de punta chata.

1. Desconecte el cable de alimentación del
refrigerador.
2. Humedezca ligeramente con agua un paño
suave y sin pelusa o una toalla de papel.
No use ningún tipo de detergente para
limpiar el refrigerador.
Podría decolorarlo o dañarlo.
3. Seque el interior y el exterior del refrigerador
hasta que esté limpio y seco.
4. Vuelva a conectar el cable de alimentación del
refrigerador.

REEMPLAZO DE LAS LUCES
INTERIORES
Luz LED del congelador/refrigerador
• Si la cubierta de la luz LED está sucia, no
iluminará lo suficiente. Limpie la superficie de
la cubierta con un paño limpio y seco para que
recupere el brillo.
PRECAUCIÓN
No desensamble ni reemplace la luz tipo LED por
su cuenta.
Para reemplazar las luces LED, comuníquese
con el Centro de servicio de Samsung o con su
distribuidor Samsung autorizado.
Si intenta reemplazar las luces LED por
su cuenta, corre el riesgo de sufrir una
descarga eléctrica o lastimarse gravemente.
PARA MEJORAR EL
RENDIMIENTO DE ENFRIADO
No bloquee las salidas del aire frío con los
alimentos. Si las salidas de aire frío están
bloqueadas por alimentos, el aire frío no
puede penetrar todo el compartimiento
y no podrá congelar los alimentos
eficazmente, lo que genera un menor
rendimiento del enfriado.
CAMBIO DEL FILTRO DE AGUA
ADVERTENCIA
Para reducir el riesgo de daños ocasionados por el
agua, NO use marcas genéricas de filtros de agua
en su refrigerador SAMSUNG.
SOLO USE FILTROS DE AGUA MARCA SAMSUNG.
SAMSUNG no será legalmente responsable por
cualquier daño, incluidos, entre otros, daños
materiales causados por pérdidas de agua por el
uso de un filtro de agua genérico.
Los refrigeradores SAMSUNG están diseñados
para funcionar SOLO CON filtros de agua SAMSUNG.
Cómo cambiar el filtro de agua
La luz del "Indicador del filtro" le indica el momento
en que hay que reemplazar el cartucho del filtro de
agua.
Para darle tiempo de preparación hasta que
consiga un nuevo filtro, la luz roja se enciende justo
antes de que la capacidad del filtro actual se acabe.
Reemplazar el filtro a tiempo le provee agua más
fresca y limpia de su refrigerador.
Para reemplazar el filtro de agua, siga estos pasos:
1. Gire el filtro de agua
90° en el sentido

El color del indicador cambia de rojo a
apagado.
Un cartucho del filtro de agua recién
instalado puede causar que el agua brote
con fuerza brevemente del despachador
de agua.
Esto se debe al aire que entra en la
tubería.
No debería presentar ningún problema al
funcionamiento.
PRECAUCIÓN
Cuando reemplace el filtro de agua, puede salir
agua de la parte frontal inferior del refrigerador.
Después de cambiar el filtro seque cualquier resto
de agua.
Remoción de los materiales residuales
que se encuentran dentro de la tubería de
suministro de agua después de instalar
un filtro nuevo
1. Pulse el botón Water (Agua) y empuje la
palanca del despachador con una taza o un
vaso.
2. Haga correr 1 galón de agua a través del filtro,
una taza o un vaso cada vez. (El agua debe
correr unos 6 minutos).
Este procedimiento limpiará el sistema de
suministro de agua y eliminará el aire de las
tuberías.
- Es posible que se necesite realizar una limpieza
adicional en algunos hogares.
3. Abra la puerta del refrigerador y asegúrese de
que no haya filtraciones de agua provenientes
del filtro de agua.
Suministro de agua por ósmosis inversa
IMPORTANTE:
La presión del suministro de agua que sale del
sistema por ósmosis inversa que va a la válvula
de entrada de agua del refrigerador necesita estar
entre 35 y 120 psi (241 y 827 kPa).
Si se conecta un sistema de filtración de agua
por ósmosis inversa al suministro de agua fría, la
presión de agua al sistema de ósmosis inversa
debe tener un mínimo de 40 a 60 psi (276 a 414
kPa).
Si la presión de agua al sistema de ósmosis
inversa es menor de 40 a 60 psi (276 a 414 kPa):
• Verifique si el filtro de sedimentos en el sistema
de ósmosis inversa está bloqueado.
Reemplace el filtro si es necesario.
• Llene nuevamente el tanque de
almacenamiento del sistema de ósmosis
inversa luego de un uso intensivo.
• Si su refrigerador cuenta con un filtro de agua,
es posible que la presión de agua disminuya
aún más al usarlo con el sistema de ósmosis
inversa. Retire el filtro de agua.
Si tiene dudas sobre la presión del agua, llame a
un plomero calificado autorizado.
Solicitud de filtros de repuesto
Para solicitar más cartuchos del filtro de agua,
comuníquese con su distribuidor de productos
Samsung autorizado.

• Verifique que el enchufe esté correctamente conectado.
• ¿El control de temperatura en el panel del visor está ajustado a la temperatura
correcta? Intente ajustarlo a una temperatura inferior.
• ¿Está el frigorífico expuesto a la luz directa del sol o demasiado cerca de una fuente
de calor? Si es así, es posible que no enfríe lo suficiente. No lo instale en un lugar
expuesto a la luz directa del sol ni cerca de una fuente de calor.
• ¿Está la parte posterior del frigorífico muy cerca de la pared e impide una ventilación
adecuada? Si es así, es posible que no enfríe lo suficiente. Deje una distancia
adecuada entre el frigorífico y la pared.
• ¿Hay demasiados alimentos en el interior de tal manera que bloquean la salida de
ventilación? Para mantener la temperatura adecuada dentro del frigorífico, no lo llene
demasiado.
• ¿El control de temperatura en el panel del visor está ajustado a la temperatura
correcta? Intente ajustarlo a una temperatura más alta.
• ¿La temperatura de la habitación es muy baja?
• ¿Colocó alimentos con elevado contenido de agua en la parte más fría del refrigerador?
• Verifique que el refrigerador esté nivelado y estable.
• ¿La parte posterior del refrigerador está demasiado cerca de la pared y por lo tanto
no permite la circulación del aire?
• ¿Cayó algo detrás o debajo del refrigerador?
• Si escucha un “un sonido como un tic-tac” proveniente del interior del refrigerador,
es normal. Esto ocurre porque varias piezas se contraen o expanden en respuesta a
cambios en la temperatura en el interior del refrigerador.
• Es normal que se genere algo de calor ya que los anticondensadores están
instalados en las esquinas frontales del refrigerador para impedir la condensación.
• ¿Está la puerta del refrigerador entreabierta?
Puede producirse condensación cuando deja la puerta abierta por mucho tiempo.
• Cuando se almacenan vegetales en el cajón puede producirse condensación de
agua. Con el tiempo la condensación se elimina de modo natural.
• ¿Ha esperado 12 horas desde la instalación de la conducción de agua antes de
fabricar hielo? Se puede tardar más tiempo en fabricar hielo si el aparato aún no se
ha enfriado lo suficiente, por ejemplo cuando se instala por primera vez.
• ¿Está conectado el suministro de agua y abierta la válvula de cierre?
• ¿Detuvo manualmente la función para hacer hielo?
Asegúrese de que Ice (Hielo) esté ajustado en Cubed (Cubos) o Crushed (Triturado).
• ¿Hay hielo amontonado dentro de la cubeta de la fábrica de hielo? Retírelo.
• ¿Está demasiado alta la temperatura del congelador? Baje la temperatura del congelador.
• Esto es normal.
Las burbujas pertenecen al líquido refrigerante que circula a través del refrigerador.
• ¿Se ha descompuesto algún alimento?
• Asegúrese de que los alimentos con olor fuerte (como, por ejemplo, el pescado)
estén envueltos herméticamente.
• Limpie el congelador periódicamente y tire los alimentos que estén en mal estado.
Cuando limpie el interior del frigorífico, guarde los alimentos en otro lugar y
desenchufe el aparato. Séquelo con un trapo de cocina después de 2-3 horas y deje
circular el aire en el interior del frigorífico.

• ¿Está bloqueada la ventilación de aire?
Quite cualquier obstrucción de modo que el aire pueda circular libremente.
• Deje espacio suficiente entre los alimentos guardados para la correcta circulación del aire.
• ¿Está bien cerrada la puerta del congelador? Si la puerta del congelador no está
totalmente cerrada o está bloqueada, la humedad puede penetrar en el interior y
formar una perjudicial escarcha.
• ¿Está conectado el suministro de agua y abierta la válvula de cierre?
• ¿Está la tubería de suministro de agua aplastada o enroscada?
Asegúrese de que la tubería esté libre y sin obstrucciones.
• ¿Está congelado el tanque de agua porque la temperatura del congelador está
demasiado baja? Seleccione una temperatura más alta en el panel principal del visor.
• Compruebe si el filtro está correctamente instalado. Si no lo está, el dispensador de
agua podría no funcionar.
• Para usar las funciones Smart Grid (respuesta a la demanda) y E-Smart del
refrigerador, se necesitan los siguientes dispositivos y aplicaciones:
- Dispositivos: 1) Enrutador inalámbrico, 2) Refrigerador Samsung E-Smart, 3) Teléfono
inteligente (Recomendado: Galaxy S4, Galaxy Note3 o modelos posteriores y Android
OS Jelly Bean o versión posterior)
- Aplicaciones: 1) “Samsung E-Smart App” en Google Play Store o Samsung Apps.
También deberá:
• Conectar el refrigerador y el teléfono inteligente a la misma red wifi de su casa.
• Instalar y ejecutar la Samsung E-Smart App en su teléfono inteligente (para utilizar la
función Samsung E-Smart).
• Además, para usar la función Smart Grid (respuesta a la demanda), debe registrar el
servicio en su compañía de electricidad.
La compañía debe tener un EMS (sistema de gestión de energía) compatible con
SEP (perfil de energía inteligente).
• Asegúrese de que el enrutador de su casa e Internet operen con normalidad.
- Conecte un teléfono inteligente al enrutador (PA, punto de acceso) y asegúrese de
que pueda acceder a Internet.
• Asegúrese de que el refrigerador esté conectado al PA.
- Revise el ícono E-Smart en el VISOR del refrigerador.
- Si el refrigerador está conectado, el ícono estará encendido.
• Asegúrese de que el refrigerador y el teléfono inteligente estén conectados al mismo
enrutador.
• Asegúrese de que el enrutador de su casa e Internet operen con normalidad.
- Conecte un teléfono inteligente al enrutador (PA, punto de acceso) y asegúrese de
que pueda acceder a Internet.
• Asegúrese de que la zona donde usted forma parte de la aplicación del teléfono
inteligente.
• Asegúrese de que la función Smart Grid opere correctamente.
(Revise el VISOR. L3 y L4 no se deben mostrar en el Visor.)
• Empuje la palanca del despachador y revise el suministro de agua.
• Empuje la palanca del despachador (modo de hielo) y asegúrese de que funcione el
motor sinfín.
• Retire los objetos de los estantes que puedan obstruir el motor sinfín.
Precauciones : No dispensar hielo durante mucho tiempo puede provocar que el hielo
se amontone en la cubeta y que el motor sinfín no funcione correctamente.
Retire el hielo restante de la cubeta y los objetos que puedan obstruir el motor sinfín.
Haga funcionar el despachador (agua y hielo) para mejorar el cierre automático de la
puerta del congelador.

Este producto de marca Samsung, suministrado y distribuido por Samsung Electronics America, Inc. (Samsung)
y entregado nuevo, en su caja de fábrica al comprador original, está garantizado por Samsung ante defectos de
