Unlocking your phone
1. Press the Power/Lock key on the side of the phone.
2. Swipe the screen.

Inserting the battery and SIM card
1. Remove back cover
using the groove
behind the volume key
on the device.
2. Insert SIM with
gold-colored contacts
facing down.
Note: The SIM slot is below
the microSD slot.
3. Insert microSD™ card
(not included) with
gold-colored contacts
facing down.
Note: The microSD card
slot is above the SIM
card slot.
4. Insert battery making
sure the gold contacts
align.
5. Replace back cover
and charge your phone.
Touch screen
Navigating your phone
• Use your ngertip to lightly touch the screen.
• Use quick icks of your nger on the touchscreen
to swipe up, down, left, and right.
• To return to the previous screen, tap the
Back key.
• Press the Home key at any time to return to the
main home screen.
‐ Press and hold the Home key to open
Google Now.
• Tap Apps to access applications on your
phone.
• Tap the Recent key to view to view recent
apps
Notications panel
The Notications panel provides
quick access to alerts including
new messages, emails and
software updates.
• Touch the Notications bar and
drag your nger down to see the
Notications panel. Drag your
nger down a second time to
reveal additional options.
• Swipe right to clear individual
notications or tap CLEAR ALL
to clear all.
Personalize
1. Tap and hold a blank space
on one of the home screens
and choose:
• Wallpapers and themes
allows you to assign
wallpapers and themes
for the Home screen, and
Lock screen.
• Widgets allows you to
quickly access the Widget
tab where you can drag
and drop a widget on a
selected screen.
• Screen grid allows you to change the number
of icons that can be placed on a Home
screen.
2. Tap the option you desire and follow the
instructions.
Organizing home screens
• To move a widget, shortcut, or folder, tap and
hold and drag it to a new location. To delete it,
tap and hold and drag it to the trash bin .
• To add a home screen, place two ngers on
the screen and pinch them together to enable
edit mode.
Swipe left and tap to add a screen. To
remove, tap and hold screen thumbnail and
drag it to the trash bin .
Creating a folder
• You can create a folder on a home screen,
simply touch and drag one app on top of
another app and tap Enter folder name to add
a name. Tap Done on the keyboard. Tap the
Home Key to complete the folder setup.
Calls and voicemail
Make a call
1. From the home screen, tap
Phone .
2. Select an option to place a
call:
• Keypad: Manually enter
telephone number.
• Recents: Return or retry a
previous call.
• Contacts: Call from your
address book.
Note: Tap the icon to hide the keypad.
Tap the icon to show the keypad.
Call waiting
To answer a new call while you have a call in
progress:
1. Touch and slide in any direction.
• Tap Swap
• Tap Merge
Check voicemail
1. From the home screen, tap Phone .
2. Tap Voicemail .
to switch between the two calls.

Messaging
Send a message
1. From the home screen, tap
Messages and then
tap .
2. Tap
message
3. Enter either the recipient’s
name, phone number, or
email address.
4. Tap the Enter Message eld
and use the keypad to enter
a message.
• Tap Attach and
• Tap Emoticons to choose an emoticon.
5. Review the message and tap .

Email setup
1. From the home screen, tap
Email .
2. Enter email address and
password and then tap
SIGN IN.
Create and send an email message
1. From the home screen, tap Email .
2. To compose a new message, tap .
3. Tap the To eld and enter an email address or
name.
4. Enter a subject and email message.
5. To attach les to the email message, tap ATTACH
and then follow the on-screen instructions.
6. Tap SEND to send message.

1. From the home screen, tap
Play Store .
2. Use your existing Google
account or create one
following the steps on the
screen.

Navigate Google Play
From Play Store, you will have
multiple ways to search for
apps, games and more.
1. Tap a category to browse
popular apps, games,
movies and music
organized by popularity or category.
2. Tap Google Play in the bar across the top to
search. Tap Search to search the Play Store
for a specic game or app.
3. To install, tap the app and follow instructions.
Once installed, you will see a notication in the
Notications panel.
Open the app from this notication or by
locating the app in the Apps tray .
Camera and video
Take a picture
1. From the home
screen, tap
Camera .
2. Tap Capture
to take a photo.
• Swipe right to
select a shooting
mode.
• Swipe left to select a shooting effect.
Take a video
1. From the home screen, tap Camera ,
• Tap Record to start recording.
• Tap Camera to take pictures while recording.
• Tap Pause to pause recording.
• Tap Stop to end recording.
Send a Picture
1. After taking the picture, tap the image viewer
next to the camera button, and then tap
Share at the bottom of the screen.
2. Select desired option to send via text messaging
or email and more.
