Opens the OSD menu. Also use to exit the OSD menu or return to the previous menu.
These buttons allow you to adjust items in the menu.
MagicBright™ is a new feature providing the optimum viewing environment depending on the contents of the image you are watching. Currently four different modes are available: Custom, Entertain, Internet, and Text. Each mode has its own pre­configured brightness value. You can easily select one of four settings by simply pressing MagicBright™ control buttons.
1) Custom Although the values are carefully chosen by our engineers,
the pre-configured values may not be comfortable to your eyes depending on your taste. If this is the case, adjust the brightness and contrast by using the OSD menu.
2) Entertain : High brightness For watching motion pictures such as a DVD or Video CD.
3) Internet : Medium brightness
For working with a mixture of images such as text and graphics.
4) Text : Normal brightness For documentations or works involving heavy text.

Digital(DVD)/Video /S-Video/Component : Mode button
The Monitor has four automatic picture settings ("Dynamic", "Standard", "Movie" and "Custom") that are preset at the factory. You can activate either Dynamic, Standard, Movie, or Custom. You can select "Custom" which automatically recalls your personalized picture settings.
1) Dynamic Select this mode to view a sharper image than in "Standard"
mode.
2) Standard Select this mode when the surroundings are bright. This also
provides a sharp image.
3) Movie
Select this mode when the surroundings are dark. This will save power and reduce eye fatigue.
4) Custom Select this mode when you want to adjust the image
according to your preferences.

Brightness button [ ]
( Available in Analog Mode Only )
When OSD is not on the screen, push the button to adjust brightness.

Enter button [ ] / SOURCE button
Activates a highlighted menu item. / Push the 'SOURCE', then selects the video signal while the OSD is off. (When the SOURCE button is pressed to change the input mode, a message appears in the upper left of the screen displaying the current mode -- Analog, Digital, Video, S-Video and Component input signal.) Note : Changing the source is allowed only in external devices that are connected to the monitor at the time.
AUTO button
(Available in Analog mode only)
When the 'AUTO' button is pressed, the Auto Adjustment screen appears as shown in the animated screen on the center. Press to self-adjust to the incoming Analog signal. The values of fine,coarse and position are adjusted automatically.

PIP button ( Available in Analog/Digital(PC) Mode Only )
In Analog or Digital Mode, turns on Video screens in PIP Mode. You can view a picture from Video, S-Video, or Component through the PIP screen in Analog and Digital (PC) mode.
Power button [ ] Use this button for turn the monitor on and off.
Power indicator
This will enable you to see the overall power status of the system. For more information, see the PowerSaver section.
See PowerSaver described in the manual for further information regarding power saving functions. For energy conservation, turn your monitor OFF when it is not needed, or when leaving it unattended for long periods.
Rear
(The configuration at the back of the monitor may vary from product to product.)
Kensington Lock : The Kensington lock is a device used to physically fix the system when using it in a public place. (The locking device has to be purchased separately.)
For using a locking device, contact where you purchase it.
DVI IN (Source List : Digital) :
Connect the DVI cable to the DVI IN port on the back of your monitor.
RGB IN (Source List : Analog) : Connect the signal cable to the 15-pin,
RGB IN port on the back of your monitor.
VIDEO (Source List : Video)
: External device (video) input terminal S-VIDEO (Source List : S-Video) : External device (S-video) input terminal

POWER S/W : Switch the monitor on and off.
POWER IN : Connect the power cord for your monitor to the POWER IN on the back of the monitor.

UP (USB upstream port) : Connect the UP port of the monitor and the USB port of the computer with the USB cable.

DOWN (USB downstream port) : Connect the DOWN port of the USB monitor and a USB device with the USB cable.

To use DOWN (Downstream Port), you have to connect the UP (Upstream Cable ) to the PC.
z
Make sure to use the USB cable supplied with this monitor to connect the monitor's
UP port and your computer's USB port.

Connecting the Monitor

1. Connect the power cord for your monitor to the POWER IN on the back of the monitor.
Plug the power cord for the monitor into a nearby outlet.
2-1. Using the D-sub (Analog) connector on the video card.
Connect the signal cable to the 15-pin, RGB IN port on the back of your monitor.
2-2. Using the DVI (Digital) connector on the video card.
Connect the DVI cable to the DVI IN port on the back of your monitor.
2-3. Connected to a Macintosh.
Connect the monitor to the Macintosh computer using the D-sub connection cable.
2-4. In the case of an old model Macintosh, you need to connect the monitor using a special Mac
adapter.
3. Turn on your computer and monitor. If your monitor displays an image, installation is
complete.

Connecting to Other devices
This monitor allows the user to connect it to such input devices as a DVD player, a VCR or a camcorder without disconnecting the PC.
The configuration at the back of the monitor may vary from product to product.
This product does not have speakers. To listen to audio, connect the audio cable to another audio device.
Cable Fix Ring.
1. Connecting AV Devices
The monitor has AV connection terminals to connect AV input devices like DVD, VCR or Camcorder. You may enjoy AV signals as long as the monitor is turned on.
1. Input devices such as DVD, VCR or Camcorder are connected to the VIDEO or S-VIDEO terminal of the monitor using the Video or S-Video cable.
2. Then, start the DVD, VCR or Camcorder with a DVD disc or tape inserted.
3. Select Video or S-Video using the SOURCE button.
2. Connecting Digital DVD
The monitor has DVI IN connection terminals to connect DVI input devices digital DVD.
1. Input devices such as digital DVD are connected to the DVI IN terminal of the monitor using the DVI cable.
2. Then, start the DVD with a DVD disc inserted.
3. Select Digital using the SOURCE button.
3. Connecting DVD/DTV Set Top Box
Connect to the DVD/DTVSet Top Box input if the device has a DVD/DTV connector. You can watch Component simply by hooking up the Component with the monitor as long as the power is on.
1. Connect the VIDEO OUT port of the DVD / DTV Set-Top Box to the Y, PB, PR input ports using a component video cable (Y, P
, PR).

2. Then, start the DVD with a DVD disc inserted.
3. Select Component using the SOURCE button.
4. Connecting USB
You can use a USB device such as a mouse, keyboard, Memory Stick, or external hard disk drive by connecting them to the DOWN of the monitor without connecting them to the PC.
The USB port of the monitor supports High-Speed Certified USB 2.0.

1. Connect the UP port of the monitor and the USB port of the computer with the USB
cable.
To use DOWN (Downstream Port), you have to connect the UP (Upstream Cable ) to the PC.
Make sure to use the USB cable supplied with this monitor to connect the monitor's UP port and your computer's USB port.
2. Connect the DOWN port of the USB monitor and a USB device with the USB cable.
3. The use procedures are as the same as those for using an external device connecting to the PC.

Using the Stand

When connecting a device to the DOWN port of the monitor, connect the device using a cable appropriate to the device.
(For the purchase of the cable and external devices, ask the service center of the corresponding product.) The company is not liable for problems or damages to an external device caused by using an unauthorized cable for the connection. Some products do not follow the USB standard, and it may cause a malfunction of the device. If the device malfunctions even if it is connected to the computer, contact the service center of the device/computer.
Using (a), you can rotate the screen within a range of 0 ~ 90 degrees. Using (b) you can adjust the height.
You can only rotate the screen when the screen is lifted to its maximum height. Do not rotate the screen by force, as this might damage the stand.

Using (c), you can adjust the height. You can adjust the tilt within a range of -5 ~ 15 degrees. Using (d), you can horizontally rotate it within a range of -30 ~ 30 degrees.
Using (a), you can rotate the screen within a range of 0 ~ 90 degrees. Using (b), you can use the screen lengthwise. Press the top side of the stand and then push the button at the rear bottom of the stand. You can adjust the stand height using this button. When you are using a stand height as maximum, it will go down a little bit from spring elasticity.
If you rotate the screen without lifting it to its maximum height, the screen may be damaged because the edge of the screen would hit the floor.

Using (c), you can adjust the height. You can adjust the tilt within a range of 0 ~ 25 degrees.
Removing the base
Using (d), you can horizontally rotate it within a range of -45 ~ 45 degrees.
1. Turn off your monitor and unplug its power cord.
2. Lay the LCD monitor face-down on a flat surface with a cushion beneath it to protect the screen.

This monitor accepts a 100 mm x 100 mm VESA-compliant mounting interface pad.

1. Turn off your monitor and unplug its power cord.
2. Lay the LCD monitor face-down on a flat surface with a cushion beneath it to protect the screen.
3. Remove four screws and then remove the stand from the LCD monitor.
4. Align the mounting interface Pad with the holes in the rear cover mounting pad and secure it with four screws that came with the arm-t
pe base, wall mount hanger or other base.
To mount the monitor on a wall, you should purchase the wall mounting kit that allows you to mount the monitor at least 10cm away from the wall surface. Contact the nearest Samsung Service Center for more information. Samsung Electronics will not be responsible for damages caused by using a base other than those specified.
Please use Wall Mount according to the International standards.
Installing the Monitor Driver (Automatic)
When prompted by the operating system for the monitor driver, insert the CD-ROM included with this monitor. Driver installation is slightly different from one operating system to another. Follow the directions appropriate for the operating system you have.
Prepare a blank disk and download the driver program file at the Internet web site shown here.

6. Select "Don't search ,I will.." then click "Next" and then click "Have disk".
7. Click the "Browse" button then choose A:(D:\Driver) and choose your monitor model in the model list and click the "Next" button.
8. If you can see following "Message" window, then click the "Continue Anyway" button. Then click "OK" button.

When you can see "Digital Signature Not Found" on your monitor, follow these steps.
1. Choose "OK" button on the "Insert disk" window.
2. Click the "Browse" button on the "File Needed" window.
3. Choose A:(D:\Driver) then click the "Open" button and then click "OK" button.
How to install
1. Click "Start" , "Setting" , "Control Panel".
2. Double click the "Display" Icon.
3. Choose the "Settings" tab and then click "Advanced..".
