Guide

Meet the Outlet

The Outlet lets you control, automate, and monitor lamps, electronics, and small appliances from anywhere. Trigger lamps to automatically turn on when you come home; save energy by restricting power to appliances; and turn any three-prong plug into a smart, controllable device.

How to connect an Outlet

Select "Add a Thing" in the free SmartThings smartphone app and then plug in the Outlet.

If your device doesn’t connect

If your device doesn’t connect after plugging it in, hold the “Connect” button for 5 seconds and release when the LED starts blinking. Then select “Add a Thing” in the SmartThings smartphone app.

Using the Outlet:

Your Outlet can be used to automate turning on/off lights and other small appliances. It can also be used to extend the range of your SmartThings and third-party ZigBee devices.

Installation Tips: The Outlet works best if it’s within 15 feet (4.5 meters) of the SmartThings Hub when you connect it.

One (1) Year Limited War rant y

SmartThings, Inc. warrants this product (the “Product”) against defects in materials and/or workma nship under normal use for a period of ONE (1) YEAR from the date of purchase by the original p urchaser (“Warranty Period”). If a defect arises and a valid claim is received within the War ranty Period, then as your sole remedy (and SmartThings’ sole liability), SmartThings will at its option either 1) repair the defect at no charge, using new or refurbishe d replacement parts, or 2) replace the Product with a new product that is fun ctionally equivalent to the original, in each case w ithin 30 days following rec eipt of the returne d Product. A replacement product or part, assumes the remaining warranty of the original Product. When a Product o r part is exchang ed, any replacement item becomes your prop erty and the replaced Product or part becomes SmartThings’ proper ty.

Obtaining Ser vice: To obtain warranty ser vice, visit suppor t.smartthings.com to sp eak with a service agent or open a service request. Please be prepare d to describe the Pro duct that needs service and the nature of the prob lem. A purchase receipt is required. T he Produ ct must be insured, and shipped freight prepa contact suppor t for a Return Material Authorization Number (“RM A Number”) before shipping any Product, and include the RMA Number, a copy of your purchase receipt and a description of the problem you are experiencing w ith the Product. Any claim under this L imited Warranty must be submitted to SmartThings before the end of the Warranty Period.
