Multipurpose Sensor
Placement
The Multipurpose Sensor can monitor whether doors, windows, and cabinets are open or closed.
Simply place the two parts of the Multipurpose Sensor on door and door frame, making sure that the magnet alignment marks are next to each other.
The Multipurpose Sensor can also monitor temperature.

Make sure the Multipurpose Sensor

is within 15 feet (4.5 meters) of your SmartThings Hub or SmartThings Wi (or compatible device with SmartThings Hub functionality) during setup.

select the “Add device” card and then select the “Multipurpose sensor” category.
Troubleshooting
Hold the “Connect” button with a

paperclip or similar tool for 5 seconds, and release it when the LED starts blinking red.

select “Add device” card and then follow the on-screen instructions to complete setup.
Remove the tab on the Multipurpose

Sensor marked “Remove When Connecting” and follow the on-screen instructions in the SmartThings app to complete setup.

Disconnect the network cable and power adapter or any other connected peripherals if any of the following conditions exist:
• The power cord or connector is damaged or frayed.
