3013744 Tailgate Lock Kit for
SHPE4000

1. Bolt Locator Weldment (3013747) to spreader gussets
using hardware provided. Do not tighten hardware com­pletely this time.

2. Place spreader into dump body. Attach chute. If necessary,
slide spreader rearwards to achieve 1” clearance between
chute and rearmost vertical obstruction.

3. Center Channel item (3008558), between the dump body
latches and flush with the dump body floor.

4. Clamp Channel to Locator Weldments.

5. Position and latch (2) 1 ¼” diameter Shafts (3008557), in
the dump body tailgate latches and inside the channel. Be
sure the Shafts extend beyond the latches at least ½”.

6. Tack weld the Shafts and Locator Weldments to the
Channel.

7. Unbolt and remove tack welded Tailgate Lock Kit from
spreader.

8. Weld Tailgate Lock completely and paint.

Note: Do not use Tailgate Lock exclusively! Use it in com­bination with four (4) ratchet straps as shown in spreader
manual.

WARRANTY

Buyers Products Co. warrants all truck/trailer hardware manufac­tured or distributed by it, to be free from defects in material and
workmanship for a period of one year from date of shipment. Parts
must be properly installed and used under normal conditions. Any
product which has been altered, including modification, misuse,
accident or lack of maintenance will not be considered under
warranty. Normal wear is excluded. The sole responsibility of
Buyers Products Co. under this warranty is limited to repairing or
replacing any part or parts which are returned, prepaid, and are
found to be defective by Buyers Products Co. Authorization from
Buyers Products Co. must be obtained before returning any part.
No charges for transportation or labor performed on Buyers’ prod­ucts will be allowed under this warranty.
