Storage Cabinets – 9000 Series

Assembly Instructions

Thank you for selecting Salsbury’s storage cabinets. We are confident that the quality and construction of the cabinets will prove to be a good investment. These instructions are intended to assist you in the assembly of standard, counter height, wardrobe, and combination models. Individual job conditions will dictate whether the storage cabinets must be anchored to the wall, the floor, or both and the type of fasteners to use to do so.
1. Pages 1 through 6 provide instructions for the 18” deep and 24” deep standard storage cabinets. Pages 7 through 9 provide special information required to assemble the counter-height, wardrobe, and combination storage cabinets. For other than the standard storage cabinets, use the standard storage cabinet instructions as a guide while referring to the pictures and special information for the other cabinets. Parts and quantities of fasteners used will be different than for the standard cabinets.
2. Figure 9 on page 6 shows all the parts for the standard storage cabinet that should be in the package with their names as used in this document. The parts for the counter height, wardrobe, and combination storage cabinets are shown on pages 7 through 9.
3. All the screwed connections should initially be only finger tight. Square the cabinet assembly before firmly tightening all the screwed connections.

Typical Assembly – Standard Storage Cabinet

1. Lay the Back down on a flat surface with the bottom flange up. The end with no flange and four (4) holes along the edge is the top end. See Figure 1.

2. Place one of the Notch Strips along the right side of the Back with the notches inward pointed up and the Notch Strip holes aligned with the holes along the right side of the Back. The Notch Strips are symmetrical end-to-end, so either one fits on either the right or left side of the Back.
3. Place the Right Upright along the right side of the Back with the Back and Notch Strip inside the flanges of the Upright and the top of the Upright at the same end as the top of the Back. The rear flange on the Right Upright is the one with 7 holes. The front flange has only five (5) holes. The top flange of the Right Upright has three (3) holes while the bottom flange has no holes. Fasten together the Back and the Notched Strip to the Right Upright flange using seven (7) screws and nuts. Only five (5) screws and nuts go through the Notch Strip. The screws should be inserted from the inside of the cabinet with the nuts being installed on the rear of the cabinet.
4. Repeat 2 and 3 with the Left Upright and other Notch Strip using another seven (7) screws and nuts.
5. Stand the Uprights and Back assembly up. Insert the Top from the rear of the cabinet underneath the top flanges of the Right and Left Uprights. The only flange of the Top should be in the rear and pointing downward toward the bottom of the cabinet. The flange of the Top will be on the outside of the back. Attach the Top to the Upright flanges and Back using ten (10) screws and nuts, three (3) on each side on the top and four (4) in the rear. See Figure 2.
