Assembly & Installation Instructions
Thank you for selecting Salsbury Industries’ 1511 or 1512 series large commercial post mounted signage. We are confident that the quality and
construction of this product will provide years of maintenance free use. These instructions are designed to assist you in a typical installation.
Preliminary Notes
There are three basic steps to assembly and installation:
1. Assemble the posts.
2. Install the sign into the posts assembly.
3. Install the posts and sign assembly into the ground.
Assembly
First check to see that all the parts and fasteners in the carton have
been located and identified according to illustration 6 on a following
page. Also refer to the all of the illustrations to position the parts
correctly.
Note that there are two (2) different types of right-angle brackets.
There are four (4) of each type. One type has two (2) round
threaded nuts installed in the short leg; the other type does not.
Assembly may proceed more easily if all the bolts and screws are not
fully tightened until primary assembly has been completed.
1. Set the two 4” square x 80” long posts on their sides on a flat
surface. The factory-attached U-channels should be facing each
other. See illustration 1.

2. Attach one of each of the two (2) types of right-angle brackets to
each post with two (2) 5/16” x 5” long hex head bolts. The two (2)
right-angle brackets with the installed nuts mount on the inside of the
4” square by 80” vertical posts; the other two (2) mount on the
outside of the posts. The bolts are installed from the outside of each
post through the short leg of one outside bracket, through the 4”
square post, and then into the nuts installed in the short leg of the
inside bracket. The long leg of the right-angle brackets should be
positioned toward the bottom end of the 80” post.
3. Attach one of the 3-1/2” square x 40” long cross arms to the two
(2) inside right-angle brackets. The U-channel should be facing up or
toward the finial ends of the 80” posts. Use two (2) 1/4”-20 x 1/2”
long flat-head screws in each end of the cross arm to fasten the
cross arm to the right angle brackets.
4. Attach two (2) of the right-angle brackets with installed round
threaded nuts inside the other 3-1/2” square x 40” long cross arm
with two (2) 1/4”-20 x 1/2” long flat-headed screws for each bracket.
The short leg of each bracket should be flush with each end of the
cross arm. See illustration 2.
