2. Product Introduction
This UPS provides comprehensive protection in a small and economic package. The UPS
is more compact and offers greater comprehensive power protection against surges and
spikes. This UPS will continue providing stable power to connected equipment and enable
to shutdown PC safely during power failure. Its embedded microprocessor controller
guarantees high reliability and it’s perfect for any home or small office application.

4. Installation and Initial Startup
NOTE: Before installation, please inspect the unit. Be sure that nothing inside the
package is damaged.
Placement & Storage Conditions
Install the UPS in a protected area that is free of excessive dust and has adequate air
flow. Please place the UPS away from other units at least 20 cm to avoid interference.
Do NOT operate the UPS where the temperature and humidity is outside the specific
limits. (Please check the specs for the limitations.)
Connect to Utility and Charging
Before initial use, please plug in the AC input cord to the wall
outlet and turn on the UPS for charging. For the best results,
suggest to charge the battery at least 8 hours before initial
use.
Connect the Loads
Plug in the loads to output receptacles on the rear panel of the UPS. Simply turn on the
power switch of UPS unit, then devices connected to the UPS will be protected by UPS
unit.
Turn On/Off the Unit
Turn on the UPS unit by pressing the power switch. Turn off the UPS unit by pressing
again the power switch.

5. Important Safety Warning (SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS)
CAUTION! To prevent the risk of fire or electric shock, install in a temperature and
humidity controlled indoor area free of conductive contaminants. (See the specifications
for the acceptable temperature and humidity range.)
CAUTION! To reduce the risk of overheating the UPS, do not cover the UPS' cooling vents
and avoid exposing the unit to direct sunlight or installing the unit near heat emitting
appliances such as space heaters or furnaces.
CAUTION! Do not attach non-computer-related items, such as medical equipment,
life-support equipment, microwave ovens, or vacuum cleaners to UPS.
CAUTION! Do not plug the UPS input into its own output.
CAUTION! Do not allow liquids or any foreign object to enter the UPS. Do not place
beverages or any other liquid-containing vessels on or near the unit.
CAUTION! In the event of an emergency, press the OFF button and disconnect the power
cord from the AC power supply to properly disable the UPS.
CAUTION! Do not attach a power strip or surge suppressor to the UPS.
CAUTION! If the UPS is with metal chassis, for safety purpose, grounding is a must
during UPS installation in order to reduce leakage current below 3.5mA.
Attention hazardous through electric shock. Also with disconnection of this unit from the
mains, hazardous voltage still may be accessible through supply from battery. The battery
supply should be therefore disconnected in the plus and minus pole at the quick
connectors of the battery when maintenance or service work inside the UPS is necessary.
CAUTION! Servicing of batteries should be performed or supervised by personnel
knowledgeable of batteries and the required precautions. Keep unauthorized personnel

away from batteries.
CAUTION! When replacing the batteries, use the same number and type of batteries.
CAUTION! Internal battery voltage is 12VDC. Sealed, lead-acid, 6-cell battery.
CAUTION! Do not dispose of batteries in a fire. The battery may explode. Do not open or
mutilate the battery or batteries. Released electrolyte is harmful to the skin and eyes.
CAUTION! Unplug the UPS prior to cleaning and do not use liquid or spray detergent.
CAUTION! A battery can present a risk of electric shock and high short circuit current.
The following precaution should be observed before replacing batteries:
1) Remove watches, rings, or other metal objects.
2) Use tools with insulated handles.
3) Wear rubber gloves and boots.
4) Do not lay tools or metal parts on top of batteries.
5) Disconnect charging source prior to connecting or disconnecting batteries terminal.
6. Trouble Shooting
Use the table below to solve minor problems.

2. Introducción de producto
El SAI CoolBox Scudo ofrece una protección eficiente a un precio razonable. Con
un diseño compacto, el SAI Scudo brinda una protección excelente ante subidas
de tensión y oscilaciones transitorias del suministro eléctrico. Este SAI continuará
ofreciendo una fuente estable de potencia que permitirá apagar el equipo de
forma segura si se produce un apagón o corte del suministro eléctrico. Gracias a
su potente microprocesador, el CoolBox Scudo garantiza una alta eficiencia y
resulta el accesorio perfecto para un entorno domestico o una pequeña oficina.

4. Instalación y encendido inicial
NOTA: Antes de realizar la instalación, inspeccione el dispositivo. Verifique que
nada en el contenido del embalaje está dañado.
Posicionamiento e instrucciones de almacenaje.
Instale el SAI en una zona despejada, libre de excesivo polvo y con una
ventilación adecuada. Coloque el dispositivo a un mínimo de 20cm de el resto
de componentes para evitar interferencias. NO utilice el SAI en condiciones de
temperatura o humedad superiores a los límites indicados. (Compruebe las
especificaciones para más detalle acerca de estos valores límite.)
Conexión y carga
Antes del primer uso, conecte al enchufe el cable de
alimentación y enchufe el SAI para que empiece a
cargar. Para un resultado óptimo es recomendable
dejar el dispositivo cargando durante 8 Horas antes de
empezar a usarlo
Conecte los dispositivos
Conecte los dispositivos a los conectores de salida en la parte superior del
dispositivo. Encienda el SAI y los dispositivos conectados estarán protegidos
por el SAI Scudo.

Encender /Apagar el dispositivo
Puede encender el SAI pulsando el botón de encendido, si estando encendido
pulsa de nuevo el botón de encendido, se apagará la unidad.

5. Avisos importantes de Seguridad (Guarde estas instrucciones)
¡ATENCIÓ N! Para prevenir el riesgo de incendio o shock eléctrico, instale el
dispositivo en un área interior libre de contaminantes conductores (Ver
instrucciones para detalles sobre las condiciones de temperatura y humedad
aceptables).
¡ATENCIÓ N! Para reducir el riesgo de sobre-calentamiento, no cubra los
conductos de ventilación del SAI y evite exponerlo a luz solar directa o instalarlo
cerca de un dispositivo que desprenda calor.
¡ATENCIÓ N! No conecte dispositivos no informáticos como equipamiento
médico, equipo de soporte vital, hornos microondas, o aspiradores al SAI.
¡ATENCIÓ N! No conecte el cable de conexión del SAI en su propia conexión de
entrada.
¡ATENCIÓ N! No permita que ningún líquido u objeto extraño se introduzca en el
SAI. No coloque bebidas o cualquier otro líquido cerca de la unidad.
¡ATENCIÓ N! En una situación de emergencia, pulse el botón de encendido
/apagado y desconecte el SAI de la corriente eléctrica para deshabilitar el
dispositivo.

¡ATENCIÓ N! No conecte regletas de alimentación al SAI
¡ATENCIÓ N! El dispositivo es peligroso durante shock eléctrico. Incluso
desconectando el dispositivo de la corriente principal, puede haber peligro de
shock eléctrico a través de la alimentación de la batería. Para operaciones de
mantenimiento deben desconectarse los terminales positivo y negativo de
conexión de la batería.
¡ATENCIÓ N! El mantenimiento de las baterías debe ser realizado por personal
cualificado con los conocimientos necesarios de baterías y seguridad. No permita
el acceso a las baterías a personal no cualificado.
¡ATENCIÓ N! Cuando se reemplacen las baterías, use el mismo tipo de bateria .
¡ATENCIÓ N! La batería es un modelo sellado de 6 celdas, con un voltaje interno
de 12VDC
¡ATENCIÓ N! No queme las baterías en una hoguera, la batería podría explotar.
No intente cortarla o desarmarla. Los electrolitos que se pudieran desprender de
un uso inadecuado son nocivos para la piel o los ojos.
¡ATENCIÓ N! Desconecte el SAI antes de limpiarlo y no use ningún tipo de spray
líquido o detergente.
¡ATENCIÓ N! Una batería puede presentar riesgo de Shock eléctrico y
cortocircuito. Las siguientes precauciones son necesarias antes de reemplazar las
baterías.
1) No lleve relojes, anillos o otros objetos metálicos.
2) Use herramientas protegidas con aislamiento.
3) Use guantes y botas de goma.
4) No coloque herramientas o partes metálicas en la parte superior de
las baterías.
5) Desconecte la fuente de carga antes de conectar o desconectar el
terminal de baterías.
