The Sahara Protector 2 - successor
to the Protector 1 in representing the
ultimate in theft deterrent projection
technology.
Using the concept similar to that
of a removable car stereo front panel,
the security panel can be removed after
installation and will then continue to work via a
remote control.
When not in use, the remote control is used to shut down the Protector 2, deactivating the lamp and projector engine. With the Protector 2 now in standby,
the power source remains constant ensuring the projector stays completely
enabled.
The projector is only disarmed when the power is interrupted, either by the plug
being removed from the socket, or switched off at the mains. If this happens
the Protector 2 will not operate until the security panel has been replaced.
Each projector has a unique serial coded security panel. If replaced with an
unauthorised panel, the projector will not work. Should an unauthorised
person obtain a security panel, they will not be able to activate any other
Protector 2.
The Protector 2 comes in bright orange aimed at the educational market to
clearly advertise its unique security status. The body of the projector is clearly
labelled with a message that this projector will not work once removed from
the power source and without the security panel.
Window stickers are also supplied with every machine to show that the
projector inside is protected with the hope that the more these projectors are
installed into classrooms, the more the word will spread that it is pointless
stealing a Protector 2 as it has effectively no sell-on value without its
corresponding security panel.
