To Change Between Fahrenheit and Celsius Cambio de grados Fahrenheit a grados Celsius

Ensure that thermometer is off. Then press and hold
the ON/OFF button for at least 2 seconds. When you stop
pressing the ON/OFF button after 2 seconds, the current
measurement scale (°F or °C icon) will display.
Change the measurement scale between °F and °C by pressing
the ON/OFF button again. When the measurement scale has
been chosen, wait for 3 seconds, and the unit will enter the
“Ready for Measuring” mode automatically.

To Replace Button Cell Battery (LR41) Para reemplazar la batería de celda (LR41)

When the “ ” appears in the lower right of the display, the
battery is exhausted and needs replacing. Make sure a battery
of the same type is on hand and proceed as follows after
locating the battery compartment cover on the back side of
the thermometer.

1 Carefully unscrew battery compartment cover using a

Phillips head screwdriver. Slide cover downward to
remove it.

2 Use a toothpick to remove battery. Insert new equivalent

battery type (LR41). Ensure battery is correctly positioned
with the “-” facing upward as shown in the illustration.
Carefully replace the battery compartment cover and
secure the screw. Properly dispose of the batteries,
keeping them from small children and heat.

WARNING:

• Keep battery out of child’s reach. Swallowing battery could be fatal.

• Battery should not be charged or placed into extreme heat as it may rupture.

• Used batteries should be disposed of properly.

Cuando el signo “ ” aparezca en la esquina inferior derecha de la

How to Take Temperature Cómo tomar la temperatura

Commonly used for babies and young children or when it is difficult to take
an oral or underarm temperature.

NOTE: Be sure probe tip is clean before using. See Care and Cleaning.

1 Push the ON/OFF button located beside the

display window. The display will read:

This is a function check indicating the unit is working properly. The last
measured temperature will be displayed on the screen for two seconds. The
thermometer will read “L” and begin measuring temperature when exposed to
body heat.

2 The °F symbol will continuously flash until after completion of the

temperature taking process. Please note that the “ ” indicates a
low battery. See instructions for replacing battery before measuring
temperature. An “ERR” message in the window indicates your unit is not
functioning properly. Do not expect an accurate temperature reading if this
low battery indicator is present. Out-of-range indicator displays “L” when
measurement is lower than 90.0°F and “H” when higher than 109.0°F.

3 Before using, lubricate probe tip with a water-soluble lubricant or

petroleum jelly. For easier insertion, position baby so his back and legs
form a 90-degree (L-shaped) angle. Try placing child on your lap with
his legs down, or lay him on a bed or changing table using a small pillow
to raise his hips slightly. Spread his buttocks with one hand while using
the other to gently insert the thermometer tip into the rectum, never
more than 1/2 inch. The short probe tip ensures you don’t insert too
far. Never force the thermometer. Hold it gently in place until reading
is complete. The peak temperature should be reached in approximately
8 seconds.

4 The thermometer will beep repeatedly and the °F symbol will stop

flashing following peak temperature reading. Please note: Peak
temperature is reached in 8 seconds. Audible beeps may not always be
heard. Remove thermometer after 8 seconds. If the thermometer stays
in the measuring site, the temperature may rise slightly over time even
when the °F does not flash.

5 Read and record the temperature and time for reference. The last

reading will automatically be stored in the memory. For a rectal
temperature, a reading of 100.4 °F or higher indicates a fever.

6 Push the ON/OFF button to turn the unit OFF. If you do not turn the

unit OFF, it will SHUT OFF automatically in approximately 10 minutes.

5 Lea y anote la temperatura y la hora a modo de referencia. La lectura quedará

Care and Cleaning Cuidado y limpieza

Do:

• Clean the thermometer before first use and after every use

• Clean thermometer probe tip (1 inch only) using soap and water, or sterilize

probe tip (1 inch only) using isopropyl alcohol or other sterilizing solution

• Clean plastic parts of this thermometer with a soft, dry cloth

• Store thermometer in its protective cover when not in use

• Examine thermometer before each use for cracks or other signs of wear

• Discard a worn or damaged thermometer immediately
Do Not:

• Never immerse electronic parts in water, isopropyl alcohol or any other liquid

• Never attempt to sterilize thermometer in boiling water

• Do not store or keep in direct sunlight or in high temperatures

• Do not bend probe tip beyond 45° (to avoid damage to the probe)

• Do not attempt to pull or twist the probe apart from the body or to

detach the “1st” button head

Thermometer), is free from material and workmanship defects when used under normal conditions
for a period of one (1) year from the date of purchase. Should the product contain defects in
material or workmanship Dorel Juvenile Group, Inc., will repair or replace the product, at our option,
free of charge. Purchaser will be responsible for all costs associated with packaging and shipping
the product to Dorel Juvenile Group Consumer Relations Department at the address noted on the
front of this document and all other freight or insurance costs associated with the return. Dorel
Juvenile Group will bear the cost of shipping the repaired or replaced product to the purchaser.
Product should be returned in its original package accompanied by a proof of purchase, either a
sales receipt or other proof that the product is within the warranty period. This warranty is void if
the owner repairs or modifies the product or the product has been damaged as a result of misuse.

This warranty excludes any liability other than that expressly stated previously, including but
not limited to, any incidental or inconsequential damages.

SOME STATES DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF INCIDENTAL OR
