Running a customized version of the Microsoft® Windows Vista™ Ultimate Operating System,
the SMC provides lightning fast access to your digital media without dealing with the clutter
of software typically installed on personal computers. High-performance Intel
processors, 2 or 4 GB of RAM memory, NVIDIA
space allow the SMC to accelerate your digital media experience.
The 28-in-1 flash card reader makes importing
photos from your digital camera easy and fast.
Composite video, audio, and S-Video inputs
allow for the connection of a set-top television
tuner. Two USB 2.0/1.1 and a FireWire/IEEE
1394 port provide connections for external
hard drives or portable media players.
Media Player
Windows Media Center also offers SportsLounge, an interactive
portal created with Foxsports.com. Through SportsLounge
users can track and watch their favorite teams or players, keep
up with scores of multiple games by streaming score updates.
SportsLounge also maintains stats and scores for the past
week, or can track the performance of multiple players, a ‘must
have’ feature for fantasy sports enthusiasts.

One remote easy
Why struggle with multiple remotes or
complex programming when you can control
your digital entertainment with one easy to
use remote? Onboard television tuners allow
you to view and record you favorite broadcast
or cable programs. No longer do you need a
cable box. The high-speed DVD drive allows
you to play movies or music from discs, or
burn your favorite albums to mp3 for storage,
replacing both a DVD player and CD changer.
For complete living room entertainment, you
only need an SMC, a TV, and a home theater
receiver/amplifi er. What could be easier?
Media savvy
While the SMC’s high-end, benchmarked
design allows it to quickly access your
digital media, you do not need to be an
A/V geek to make it work. The Smart
Media Console is powered by the
Windows Vista Ultimate operating system
that has been optimized to run Windows
Media Center, an easy to use software
interface for accessing all of your digital
media. In addition to managing your
personal digital media, Windows Media
Center also optimizes a broadband
internet connection for access to Online
Media resources. With Online Media,
users can view music videos, download
movies and TV shows, listen to internet
radio, or get the latest news updates.
Extended Media
To share the functions of your Smart Media Console with other
locations in your home, you can add a Media Center Extender.
Media Center Extenders receive streaming digital media from the
Smart Media Console. Extenders are available in set-top boxes
for wired and wireless networks, or an Xbox 360 video game
console can be used. Up to fi ve extenders can be used with a
standard Smart Media Console.
