CAS44
Multiroom Audio Controller-Amplifier
The Russound CAS44 Multiroom Audio ControllerAmplifier distributes four stereo sources to four zones. Two controllers can be linked together to support a total of eight zones.
Each zone has its own built-in stereo amplifier that provides 20 watts RMS per channel. The system also provides independent control of bass, treble, balance, loudness and volume from the keypad in each zone.
For zone control, the CAS44 system offers a choice of two keypads. Using the optional SA-ZX3 Keypad Splitter allows multiple keypads in each zone.
For ease of installation and simplicity of use, the CAS44 controller does not require any programming. All source commands reside in the included CAS-RC programmable remote control.
The CAS44 system passes IR commands from the remote control through the keypads to the sources. Two common IR output ports allow connection of infrared emitters or an IR connecting block for device control.
To provide easy integration with paging systems, home automation systems and other devices, the CAS44 has a muting trigger input and system trigger output, as well as an RS-232 port with a documented serial protocol. This port can also be used to update the system firmware.
The CAS44 system keypads connect to the controller with CAT-5 or CAT-5e cable. The speakers connect to the built-in amplifiers with standard speaker cable.
Rack ears are included with the CAS44 controller for 2U rack mounting.
