m REHEATING TOAST

14 Leave the browning level at your favoured

setting, insert the bread, lower the lever,
then press the m button.

15 The m light glows, the toast gets a short

burst of heat, then pops up.

16 Only reheat plain, “unbuttered” toast.

C HINTS AND TIPS

17 Old (yesterday’s) bread has less moisture, so

makes crisper toast.

18 Old bread, thin slices, and sweet bread

products (tea cakes, fruit loaf, etc.) brown
faster – use a lower setting.

6 Remove the crumb trays, empty,

wipe with a damp cloth, dry,
then replace.

7 If the cable is damaged, return

the toaster, to avoid hazard.

8 If you’re using one slot of a pair, leave the

other empty, as both slots will become live.

9 Unplug the toaster when not in use.
10 Don’t put anything on top of the toaster.
11 Don’t toast or reheat buttered, torn, or

misshapen bread.

12 If bread gets jammed, unplug the toaster,

let it cool, then carefully remove the bread.

13 Don’t use the toaster for any purpose other

than those described in these instructions.

14 Don’t use it if it’s damaged or malfunctions.

U BEFORE FIRST USE

• Check the slots are empty, set the browning

level to 6, and use the toaster without bread.

• It may smoke a bit, but it’s nothing to worry

about – ensure the room is well ventilated.

T TOASTING BREAD

, Treat the left and right pairs of slots as

independent 2-slot toasters – his and hers,

yours and mine – whatever works for you.
1 Sit the toaster upright on a level surface.
2 Put the plug into the wall socket.
3 Set the browning level (1 = light, 6 = dark).
4 Put bread into the slots (max 22mm thick).

5 Press the lever down fully. It won’t lock

down unless the toaster is connected to the

electricity supply.

6 The 5 light glows, and the elements heat.

7 When the toast pops up, the light and

elements go off.

5 EJECT

8 To stop the toaster mid-cycle, press 5 .

f FROZEN BREAD

9 Leave the browning level at your favoured

setting, insert the frozen bread, lower the

lever, then press the f button.

10 The f light glows, and the toasting time is

altered automatically to give the same level

of browning you get with unfrozen bread.

f BAGEL

11 Bagels are already half-toasted, so keep the

setting to 4 or below.

12 Split the bagel, and insert the halves with

the brown sides facing the outside elements.

13 Leave the browning level at your favoured

setting (1-4), lower the lever, then press the

b button. The b light will glow.
