The safety recommendations outlined in this section should be read and understood before operating this machine. When using this
machine follow these basic safety precautions to reduce risk of fire, electric shock or injury. Keep this information for future reference.
SAFETY HAZARDS
Safety hazards are depicted in the following images:

Plug Disconnection: Separate plug from the outlet. NO DISASSEMBLY: Do not disassemble machinery.

WARNING
Only operate machine with indicated power supply.
Do not alter any distributing wires. This may cause a fire or an electric shock.
Do not operate the machine near any flammables or heat-sensitive materials. This may cause a fire or internal damage to the
shredder.
Avoid placing the machine near the following areas:
• a heat or fire-prone area such as a stove or a humidifier
• an area with high humidity
• an area prone to gas leaks
• an area that is exposed to direct sunlight
• an area that is dusty or incurs vibrations
• an area that is not level or is on an incline
This may cause a fire, electric shock, or internal damage to the shredder
Do not put any materials on top of the machine.
When moving the shredder, turn the machine off and remove the power cord from the outlet. A damaged power cord or plug may
cause a fire or electric shock.
Do not handle the plug with wet hands.
This may cause an electric shock.
Do not disassemble, repair, or alter the machine. Contact a qualified electrician or the Service department at Royal
Sovereign(1-800-397-1025) for any inquiries on machine disassembly. In Canada. (1866-961-6673) This may cause a fire or
electric shock.
Misuse of this machine may lead to danger.
Keep the machine out of reach from small children.
This may cause serious injury.

Do not place any liquids on the machine.

Do not damage, alter, or transform the power cord or plug. Do not place any heavy objects on the power cord.
Do not pull or bend the cord forcibly. A damaged power cord or plug may cause a fire or electric shock.
Do not block the top of the machine. This may cause a fire or a malfunction.
Do not use any flammable materials when cleaning the machine. This may cause a fire.
Do not operate the machine if the power cord or plug becomes stained by any substance or chemicals. In this case, turn off the
machine and unplug the power cord from the outlet. Contact the Service depar tment at Royal Sovereign (1-800-397-1025) if you

Do not disassemble or repair the machine yourself. This can cause a fire or electric shock.
Keep aerosol products away.
CAUTION
Do not have any personal articles hanging around the machine such as long hair, necktie, necklace, and clothing. This may cause
bodily injury from the machine.
Turn off the machine and unplug the power cord from the outlet before cleaning or if the machine will not be in use for a long
period of time. This may result in an electric shock.
• Do not spray water or chemicals into the machine when cleaning. This may result in a fire or electric shock.
• Use the machine only for shredding.
• If a malfunction or other machine problem occurs, first turn off the machine.

Keep children’s hands away from the paper insert at all times.
Do not insert fingers into the shredder.
Do not insert anything other than paper and staples into the machine.
Do not allow any foreign materials or substances inside the shredder. This may cause a fire or bodily injury.

FEATURES
Multiple Feed Capabilities
The shredder has 2 different feeding entries for ease of use. The Auto Feed Entry allows users to shred large stacks of paper, 75 sheets,
at a time without having to constantly feed the papers in the machine. The Manual Feed Entry allows users to quickly shred up to 7 sheets
at a time.

Auto Feed Features
The shredder will automatically begin to shred stacks of paper when inserted into the Auto Feed Entry.
Auto Reverse
If a jam occurs, the machine automatically reverses to undo the jam.
Internal JAM Removal Function
When curled/crumpled paper is inserted it may result in a JAM problem.
If the Auto Reverse cannot remove the paper the Internal JAM Removal Function will automatically start. During this function, red LED light
will turn on/off repeatedly.
Shredder will automatically run forward/reverse action for approximately 2~3 minutes until jam is cleared.
Do not override control switch until process is completed.
Auto Controls
The shredder automatically starts shredding paper upon insertion and will automatically stop when finished.
Safety Features
As a safety precaution, if the pull-out basket is taken out or placed incorrectly the power will automatically cut off.
Overheat Protection
To ensure that the shredder does not overheat, it will automatically shut itself off if there is a jam that causes the motor to heat up or if it
has been continuously running for more than 10 minutes. Once the shredder shuts off, the Motor Overheat/Overload Indicator will turn on
and the machine will turn back on in approximately 30 minutes when it cools down.
Pull Out Basket
The shredder comes with a pull out basket to allow easy removal of shreddings.
Caster Wheels
The shredder is equipped with caster wheels.

OPERATION
INDICATOR AND SWITCH INSTRUCTIONS
Power Switch:
Power On Indicator:
automatically be cut off for safety, and the Power On Indicator will blink. If the Control Switch is turned to STOP the Power On Indicator will be blinking. If
there is an overload of paper, the shredder will automatically reverse. When the paper is cleared the Power On Indicator will blink. To resume shredding,
turn the control switch to STOP then back to AUTO.
Motor Overheat/Overload Indicator: If there is an overload of paper the shredder will automatically reverse. The Motor Overheat/ Overload Indicator
will turn on and the Power On Indicator will blink. To resume shredding, turn the control switch to STOP then back to AUTO. If there is a jam that causes
the motor to heat up or if it has been continuously running for more than 10 minutes the motor will cut off and the Motor Overheat/Overload Indicator
will turn on. This is to ensure the motor does not overheat. When the shredder cools down the light will turn off and you can begin shredding again.
REVERSE Setting: Turn the control switch to REVERSE for manual reversing paper from both entries. If the Power On Indicator is
blinking, turn the switch to STOP then back to AUTO.
AUTO Setting: To automatically shred in both entries turn the control switch to AUTO. If the Power On Indicator is blinking, turn the
switch to STOP then back to AUTO.
STOP Setting: Turn the control switch to STOP to manually stop shredding. To resume shredding turn the control switch to AUTO.
USE INSTRUCTIONS
1. Place the shredder on a flat, level surface.
2. Install the Auto Feed Tray(packed inside the pull-out basket). Insert the two tabs on the bottom of the Auto Feed Tray into the two
slits on the Auto Feed Entry. They are located under the top of the Safety Cover.
3. Plug in power cable and turn the power switch on. Turn the control switch to AUTO. The Power On Indicator will light up.
Auto Feed Entry
1. Turn the control switch to AUTO. The Power On Indicator will light up.
2. Neatly arrange paper to be shredded into a stack of up to 75 sheets.
3. Press down on Center knob of Safety Cover and insert the stack into the Auto Feed Entry. Make sure to push the papers all the way
into the entry. The shredder will automatically begin to start shredding a few pieces of paper in the stack at a time when you release
Safety cover.
4. When the stack of paper is completely shredded, the motor will stop running.
Note: Insert non-stapled side of paper first into Auto-Feed entry
Manual Feed Entry
1. Turn the control switch to AUTO. The Power On Indicator will light up.
2. Insert up to 7 sheets of paper into the Manual Feed Entry.
3. When the stack of paper is completely shredded, the motor will stop running
Plug in power cable and turn on the switch located on the right side of the machine.
When the shredder is turned on the Power On Indicator will light up. If the basket is pulled out or not in correctly the power will

Check if unit is plugged in. Check the power switch is turned on. Turn the control switch to AUTO. Check
if there is jammed paper. If paper is jammed, turn the control switch to REVERSE to retrieve jammed
paper. Then turn the switch to STOP and back to AUTO.
Internal sensor may be covered by dust or small pieces of paper. Turn the control switch to REVERSE to
try and move the pieces of paper. Then turn the switch to STOP and back to AUTO.
Check to make sure that the Pull Out Bin is pushed in correctly. Check the power switch is turned on.
Too much paper was inserted into the entry at once or the motor is getting hot from over 10 minutes of
continuous use. You will have to wait till the shredder cools down (approximately 30 minutes). The
Indicator will shut off and you can resume shredding.
Too much paper was inserted into the entry. The paper was not inserted neatly and is jamming. After
the paper is reversed, check the quantity of the paper inserted to make sure it meets the suggested
amount. Then arrange the paper so all pieces go straight into the entry.
When using the manual feed entry, gently pull the jammed papers out. Check to make sure the quantity
of paper does not exceed maximum capacity. Turn switch to STOP and back to AUTO. Re-insert paper.
When using auto-feed entry, press and lift the safety cover and gently remove jammed paper. Re-stack
paper neatly, ensuring quantity of paper does not exceed the maximum capacity, and stapled sheets are
inserted with staples at top. Turn switch to STOP and back to AUTO. Re-insert paper making sure nonstapled side of paper enters feeding entry first. If paper cannot be pulled out from either entry, internal
Jam removal function will automatically activate.

Defective products must be returned to Royal Sovereign International Consumer Return Department, freight prepaid, with proof of
purchase and Return Shipping and Handling payment (check or money order). Upon repair or replacement the product will be returned to
the customer.
