These instructions are valid for the KE400 COSMOS

Kettle. The special highly polished stainless steel
element never needs descaling. Although a layer of
scale may appear on the element it will NOT affect its

performance.
Cleaning/Maintenance

As any build-up of scale will not affect the
performance of the kettle, it does not need descaling.
Simply rinse the kettle on a regular basis to remove

loose scale from the walls and the element. If
required, you can descale the inside walls of the kettle
(follow guide-lines below).

Never wipe the element surface as this may damage It.
DESCAllNG

To descale your kettle using one of the following
methods:

.Citric acid. Boil 1 litre of water. Add 50g of citric

acid. Leave to soak for 15 minutes

.White vinegar. Fill the kettle with 500ml of 8° white

vinegar. Leave to soak for 1 hour without boiling.

.Rowenta "Safety Uquid Descaler" (PCO30) available

from your local Rowenta Service Agent and selected
retail outlets.

Discard the mixture. Rinse the kettle with clear water
four or five times. Repeat process if needed.

DO NOT use other descalents such as those r-

ba!ed on either formic or sulhamic acid. ~
