IMPORTANT ! While charging, ensure that the indicator light is on. Before being used for the first time the appliance should be charged for 24 hours in order to guarantee full vacuuming power.

II • HINTS AND PRECAUTIONS
Remove the appliance and accessories from the packaging. The appliance may be recharged permanently without any risk. The charger heats up slightly, this is quite normal. However, it is preferable to disconnect the charger if you intend to stay away for long periods of time (holidays, etc.) Check the condition of the filter regularly, and ensure that it is firmly in place. If the appliance loses suction power or makes an abnormal noise, check that the vacuum inlet is not blocked or that the permanent washable filter is not blocked or full. In cases of abnormal operation, such as motor overheating, stop the appliance to correct the problem (e.g. blockages in the vacuum inlet or accessory. If vacuumed dust or debris fall on the floor, check to see if the filter is full. Never leave liquid in the dust compertment while the appliance is charging. Choosing the right accessory.
For
crevices and corners (skirting boards and radiators...) and other hard to reach areas, use the crevice tool. Take it out of the vacuum inlet and turn it around to put it into place.
For
liquid on smooth floors, use the wet nozzle. Put it into place in the vacuum inlet without taking out the crevice tool
Turning on your appliance.
Vacuuming liquids.
Empty the dust compartment if you have vacuumed dust.
To vacuum, leave the crevice tool in the vacuum inlet.

Storing your appliance.
Never lift the nozzle upwards to prevent liquid from leaking.

Please read the instructions for use carefully, keep them in a safe place. Refer to the diagrams.
This appliance is designed for use on alternating current only. Check that the supply voltage corresponds to that given on the rating plate of the appliance. Check whether the filter has been properly fitted. Never turn on the appliance without a filter! An electric appliance is not a toy. The appliance should be used and stored out of the reach of children. At all times keep nozzles and tube ends well away from eyes and ears. Do not vacuum hot or smouldering substances, large pieces of sharp-edged débris such as glass, solvents or corrosive liquids, acidic liquids; flammable or explosive substances. Never pull on the cord to disconnect the charger. Do not use a charger other than the model supplied by the manufacturer. Do not expose the battery unit to room temperatures higher than 40°. Never store the appliance outside. Never immerse either the appliance or the charger in water. Do not use the appliance if:
- the appliance has been dropped and shows slgns of damage or functions abnormally,
- the charger or the cord is defective. In this case do not open the appliance, but send it to the nearest approved Rowenta Service Centre (see enclosed Service information leaflet), as special tools should be used for all repairs. Use only accessories with a Rowenta original guarantee (filters, battery units, etc.) Before disposing of an appliance no longer needed, the appliance should be made in accordance with current regulations: cut the charger cord and retrieve the battery unit before throwing the appliance away. Always disconnect the charger before taking out the battery unit. Repairs to electrical appliances should only be carried out by specialists using manufacturers’ original spare parts. It is dangerous to try to repair an appliance yourself. This product is for domestic use only. In the case of commercial use, improper use or failure to comply with the instructions, Rowenta accepts no responsibility and the guarantee will not apply. The appliance is not intended for use by young children or infirm persons without supervision. Young children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.

WARNING: BATTERY INFORMATION
The rechargeable batteries have been designed exclusively for interior use. Do not immerse them in water. Take care when handling the rechargeable batteries. The product is not a toy and should be kept out of children’s reach. Do not allow the batteries to come into contact with other metal objects (rings, nails, screws, etc.)
Be careful not to cause a short circuit in the batteries by inserting metal objects into either end of the appliance. If a short circuit occurs, the batteries may become dangerously hot, and can cause serious burns, or even catch fire. If the batteries leak, do not rub your eyes. Wash your hands and if necessary rinse eyes with clean water. If discomfort continues, see your doctor. Rowenta cannot accept responsibility for damage arising from improper use of the appliance or failure to comply with the instructions for use. The product contains nickel-cadmium batteries. Please dispose of them correctly when they have become exhausted.

Changing the batteries.
Fully charged, the appliance can work independently from between 10 to 13 min (depending on model). In case of rapid power loss, the batteries have to be replaced.
V • CLEANING AND CARE
Cleaning the permanent filter.
Clean the filter regularly. Only a clean and dry permanent filter will ensure maximum suction power. Change the filter when damaged.
IMPORTANT ! Do not use strong or abrasive cleaning products.
