IDE to SATA Host Adapter
1.Introtuction
This SATA-to-Ultra ATA/133 Converter Board is a converter solution for the Parallel Ultra ATA
Device. It has a standard 40 pin ATA port which can interface to IDE device (such as hard disk,
CDROM, DVD, CD-RW, etc). It accepts Serial ATA commands through the SATA interface from
the host, decodes the commands and converts them to parallel ATA commands to the device.
Response from the device through the parallel ATA bus are deciphered, processed and converted
to SATA protocol and sent to the host.
The Converter Board supports the SATA Generation 1 transfer rate of 1.5 Gb/s (150 MB/s) on the
serial side and is compatible with Ultra ATA-133 on the parallel ATA side.

• Compatible with Ultra ATA 133 specifications.
• Supports all types of ATAPI, ATA/133, ATA/100, ATA/66, ATA/33, EIDE and IDE storage
devices (DVD, DVD-RAM, MO, CD-ROM, CD-RW, Hard Disk, ….).
1.2. Serial ATA Features
• Compliant with Serial ATA 1.0 specifications.
• Supports Serial ATA Generation 1 transfer rate of 1.5Gb/s.
• Supports Spread Spectrum in receiver.

1. Connect the RC204 to your IDE device ( HD or ROM)
Please check he picture and remind the direction of
IDE port.
2. Connect the power cable to RC204 ( which already
been plug in in defult).

3. Connect the 4 PIN power cable to your IDE device.
4. Connect the SATA cable to RC204 and remember
to plug another port of cable to your computer.

5. Plug the 4 PIN power cable to your computer which
will provide power to both RC204 and your IDE
device.

*** This board must attaches to IDE device. DO NOT power on this board without
device attached.
*** IDE mobile rack is NOT real plug & play device. We don’t recommend this board
work with mobile rack. If you really like to use with IDE mobile rack, HDD must
be connected and power on. Don’t remove mobile rack from your system.
*** If your DVD drive can’t operate properly, JP2 shall be removed and keep on NC.
*** Connect 2-Pin pin header to HDD LED Indicator in front panel.
*** Please make sure that your PC is shoot down during your hardware installation.
For our professional suggestion. This card with your IDE device is not a hot swap
device and please shoot down your computer before you want to connect this
device.
