1 Overview

Use the process connection to install Rosemount 326 and 327
transmitters with G1 process connectors.

Safety instructions

CAUTION

• Read this document before using the product and keep it during

the entire service life.

• The product must be suitable for the corresponding applications

and environmental conditions without any restrictions.

• Only use the product for its intended purpose.

• If the operating instructions or the technical data are not adhered

to, personal injury and/or damage to property might occur.

• The manufacturer assumes no liability or warranty for any

consequences caused by tampering with the product or incorrect
use by the operator.

• Installation, electrical connection, set-up, operation and

maintenance of the product must be carried out by qualified
personnel.

2 Install the adapter

Follow these steps to install the universal process adapter to a
transmitter.

Procedure

Grease thread and seal (B) of the coupling nut (C) with

lubricating paste (A).

Note

The paste must be approved for the application and
compatible with the elastomers.

2. Slip the coupling nut onto the transmitter (D) from the
bottom.

3. Grease the transmitter thread with lubricating paste (A) (see
the note above).

The adapter comes with an EPDM O-ring. More sealing rings
are available. For more information see the transmitter
datasheet or visit Emerson.com/Rosemount.

• FKM O-ring

• PEEK sealing ring

Note

Use a new adapter when replacing a PEEK sealing ring or
changing from a PEEK seal to O-ring sealing.

5. Screw the adapter (G) onto the transmitter until it is hand­tight.

Note

Avoid mechanical effects on sealing areas, process wetted
surfaces, and the pressure measuring cell if mounting a
Rosemount 326P Pressure Transmitter.

6. Ensure the O-ring (H) is correctly positioned.

7. Secure the transmitter and adapter assembly into a vice (I).

Note

Do not over-tighten. Over-tightening the vice may cause the
transmitter and adapter assembly to warp.

8. Tighten the transmitter to a torque of 25.81 ft/lbs (35 Nm).

CAUTION

Further tightening may affect the sealing effect.

3 Mount the transmitter

Follow these steps to install the transmitter after installing the
hygienic process connection adapter.
