2 Install the weld-in adapter

Use the weld-in adapter to install transmitters with G1 process connections to containers or pipes.
Prerequisites
After welding, allow the adapter to cool before installing. Do not weld the adapter to the container or pipe with the transmitter connected.
Procedure
Bore a hole that has the outside diameter of the adapter in the
1. pipe or container wall.
Maximum oversize: 0.008 in (0.2 mm)
Weld the adapter.
2.
Note
While welding, prevent the adapter from warping.
a) Turn the marking (1) (marking may vary) to the
position shown below for the display of the screwed transmitter.
3
b) Fix the adapter in several spots with a sufficient
adhesive force. Apply the fixing points at equal distances opposite
each other.
c) Apply the welding seams between the fixing points
opposite each other. Ensure sufficient and even distance between the
individual sections to avoid glowing through or warping of the adapter caused by overheating.
3. Allow the adapter to cool.
4. If used, remove the welding mandrel.
5.
Remove deposits from the thread.

3 Mount the transmitter

326P
1408

Follow these steps to mount the transmitter to a container or pipe using the weld-in adapter.
Procedure
Remove the transmitter from the protective packaging.
1.
If needed, clean the sealing areas.
2.
3. Place the O-ring in the groove of the transmitter.
Note
Be careful not to scratch or damage the surfaces of the transmitter.
4. Grease the transmitter thread with lubricating paste.
Note
The paste must be approved for the application and compatible with the elastomers used.
5
5. Tighten the transmitter to the recommended torque.
