1.2Pressure equipment directive (PED)
The PED-approved Rosemount™ CMB Chambers for Process Level Instrumentation are designed and
manufactured to comply with applicable modules, categories, and groups of the Pressure Equipment
Directive 2014/68/EU. They carry a “CE” mark and their Declaration of Conformity show compliance
with the Directive. More information is available in the included document package or by consulting the
factory.
1.3Instructions
It is the responsibility of the installer/user of this equipment to ensure:
The product is installed and used by suitably trained personnel in accordance with all relevant local
and national regulations and codes.
Safe working practices for the media and process are followed during installation and maintenance.
The materials of construction are suitable for the application. See Table 1-1 on page 2
The pressure and temperature limits for this chamber are not exceeded, if necessary by the use of
suitable safety accessories. See Table 1-4 on page 5
The Pt and Ps limits for each attached instrument are not exceeded. Refer to the instrument manual
for this data.
All Rosemount supplied installation fixing bolts are used where applicable, and are only replaced by
exact equivalents. On all other flanges, the correct quantity, size, and strength of bolts (clamp type)
are used. All fasteners are evenly tightened to the correct torque. See Tabl e 1- 2 on p age 3 and Ta b l e
1-3 on page 4
Correct gaskets/seals are fitted and are compatible with the media and process.

Always refer to the manual supplied with the instrument. If that manual contains recommended
tightening torques for the bolting and gaskets supplied with the Rosemount CMB chamber, use those
values and not the values listed in Table 1-2 on page 3 and Table 1-3 on page 4.
For any other bolting or gasket, contact the instrument supplier for recommended tightening torques.

1. A friction coefficient of μ=0.16 has been used for calculation of bolt torques.
2. Tightening torques listed above are suitable for ASME B16.5 standard instrument flanges when assembled using the bolting supplied with the chamber. The figures
given in the table should be considered as guidelines. Suitable verifications of all components are recommended before put in service.
3. The torque values are applicable to both soft iron and stainless steel rings.
4. Not supplied as standard. If needed, see supplied documentation or consult factory.
5. Fiber gaskets are not normally recommended for flange ratings Class 600 and higher, unless permitted by instrument supplier. Refer to the manual supplied with the
measuring instrument.
